I don't really watch any superhero tv shows after getting burned by how bad Agents of SHIELD was.
Granted, I did enjoy Smallville back in the day, but every hero series since then hasn't really done much to make the formula any more interesting.
So is Doom Patrol any good? Or is it basically on par with Arrow and Flash or Gotham or any of the shitty Marvel shows that are mostly cancelled now(?)?.
On the same level as Daredevil, which was great. I wouldnt compare it to CW shows. Its also very different from your average superhero tv show, because the main characters arent really heroes. Just a bunch of losers dealing with their problems. Its very surreal and weird, in a good way.
Daredevil is the only decent capeshit show, you can skip everything else
Fair.
I still haven't tried Daredevil yet. Might get to it eventually.
I guess it's good because there's probably very little in terms of super powers?
Daredevil yes, but Doom Patrol is VERY focused on super powers.
I really don't like that future Legion show which my fiancee tried to make me watch when she was into Arrow and the crossovers. Thankfully she's given up on all of that garbage since her last recommendation of Orange Is The New Nigger ended with her stopping us halfway through season 2 and apologising.
My question is if Doom Patrol is anything like the DC Legion show? Which is kinda like a rag-tag suicide squad GOTG group but with really low budget effects and poor writing/acting. And the guy from Prison Break.
You mean Legends of Tomorrow? Legion is a Marvel show. Doom Patrol really is nothing like the CW DC shows. Thousand times better acting, casting, effects, everything is on a different level.
oh god, is that Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man?
I want to but Im a leaf that is too dumb to find where to pirate it
AoS is bretty good currently
>.nz
why are they immortal?
Oh god yes, sorry. I meant Legends of Tomorrow. I mixed them up with the Legion people from the future with L rings that were in Smallville and obviously comics.
What the fuck even IS the Legends of Tomorrow? Do they have much basis in comics? I'm not really too knowledgeable with space/future/cosmic teams and shit so I've got no idea.
Legion is Xaviers retard son who I've never found interesting in comics and never tried watching the show.
What's the team of Doom Patrol?
Invisible Man?
Robot guy that's been pushed on Yea Forums and tv for a few weeks?
The fire girl from Hellboy? Or Raven maybe?
Some other girl?
And non-DCU Cyborg?
How's the show work? Villain of the week?
Cliff is a brain in a can. Negative man has some sort of energy being inside of him keeping him alive. Elasti girl is a blob of meat if she doesnt shape herself into her normal form. Crazy Jane has 64 personalities and some of them have different powers, so I guess one of them is keeping her young. Chief is a scientist and propably found some way to be immortal. Cyborg propably ages normaly. There is still some mystery to it, but I guess that it.
Guess that answers your question aswell. There is a different villain each episode and a main villain Mr. Nobody who sometimes narrates the show.
not clear if you've never read any doom patrol comics but if you have the show draws a lot from grant morrison's run but is also including bits and pieces of the comic's other eras
if you haven't read them, the doom patrol wikipedia is a good enough overview
it's a good show and i don't think you necessarily have to have read the comics to enjoy and understand it
Hey, now... Gotham is pretty good.
I don't watch it and this image didn't convince me to start or that I missed anything.
If you like it, that's fine. But I get nothing out of the experience. As someone who's watched all of Smallville, I find 90% of superhero shows to be 100% the same shit. Or worse.
When I saw Titans and Doom Patrol revealed, I thought they were both pretentious, edgy, tacky, cheap-looking garbage.
Watched the first episode of Titans and it was exactly what it seemed like. But Doom Patrol surprised me. The writing was slick, the characters were engaging and compelling, the presentation was stylish and the set/costume design ended up working way better than it had any right to be. Plus, Brendan fucking Fraser.
I've been enjoying it. Haven't watched the latest episode, but I'm about to.
Go prep your partners bull, cuck.
i wanna see WOMB patrol!
lol some cuck watching cartoons for adults calling others cuck
Doom Patrol dropped off in quality of writing in ep 4, which I had put down to a one-off issue from the constantly changing writers and then ep 5 was unbearably boring and sloppy. My girlfriend and I got 35 ish mins in and just gave up on the show entirely.
If you're looking for honest unbiased opinions, you've come to the wrong place.
>ends insightful post with Brendan Frasier meme
You almost had me. I wipe my ass with your review. Faggot.
Thank you! I thought I was taking crazy pills cause I really liked the first few episodes. But it truly has fallen off, hasn't it?
I compare it to Titans, which sucked as a whole, but the Hawk/Dove and Jason Todd episodes were kino. The Doom Patrol series is the same, but it appears all the kino eps were front loaded and we're in the dogshit now. It must be character based:
>KINO: Dick, Jason Todd, Hawk, Dove, Robotman, Mr. Nobody
>CRINGE: Starnigger, Raven, Beast Fag, Jane, Gay Mummy, Cyboring
I havent noticed a big drop in quality, episodes 3 and 4 were little weaker, but it picks up at 5 and 6 again. Its more or less the same.
I agree, the two-parter was weak. I don't mind things getting weird, but the writing just felt really off. The most recent episode was back up to the quality of the first few again, so hopefully the two-parter was just a bump in the road. They shouldn't have tried something as experimental and big as that so early on, especially swapping in different directors and writers like that, it was jarring.
Just fitting in to the board culture. And he is pretty great, fuck you.
Watched episode six and goddamn was it good.
