why this nigger crying?
I already said this faggot
Why didn't they all just walk out of the facility
Maybe it’s because she doesn’t have eyebrows.
Eventually, they did.
They should have given her a Walmart smiley face mask
>white people being murdered to the sound of N.W.A's 'Fuck the Police'
Bravo Peele
Why didn't the little girl walk out as soon as she got the shackle off? I mean, just walk the fuck out, find an adult, and then go from there.
The film is about the underprivileged neets of USA executing an uprising against the privileged and the happy.
Who /gotfiveonit/ here?
the girl looks no older than 9. how cognizant were you at nine? also the copies of her "parents" were down there. so what if she found them? that makes the movie more terrifying. all the girl knew was there was a copy of herself and everyone around her is insane. you would seek revenge too probably
Was this movie anti-white or not?
Before I go and see this, is it actually anti-white or is /pol/ having another meltdown over nothing?
i think there were more biblical references that would go over brainlets (YOU) heads
It’s not.
This movie has nothing to do with race.
Not saying you’re wrong, but why are so many threads implying it is up?
Why was the boy able to control his doppelganger? If the unburned boy is the doppelganger then why couldnt any of the other dopplegangers just control their shackled to their deaths like the boy does to his?
Why did the shackled mom need to exposition dump? Why was her voice fucked up? How did she know all of the exposition she spewed if she was the only one actually able to speak underground?
This movie is anti black culture if anything, the clones wear prison jumpsuits, speak in gutteral squawks, and protest inequality. The nuclear family of black people use white people symbols to kill them (golf club, artwork, water).
because I just saw the movie and I have a functioning brain unlike half of this board who does not see the movies they shit on and has no functioning brain.
she was knocked out when she got dragged down there
she didn't know where the exit was at first
What's up with Peele and crying negroes
Did anybody in your theater start laughing when the doppleganger started speaking?
>black guy uses one of the most common artistic and philosophical tropes to ever exist
>OMG HE'S THE NEXT HITCHCOCK
Why is Hexadecimal black?
What would you call this stance
It's the natural state of the pitiful negro.
Yep. Also during the dancing part.
fucking THANK YOU
Because that’s something that with a little bit of mental gymnastics can be interpretted from the bare premise, and it makes easy bait.
Can somebody please explain to me why thinking about glaring flaws in a story is now written off as pointless nitpicking because "muh theem"? I personally blame CinemaSins.
Because it's from the same director as Get Out, has a black family as protagonists and 2/3 of this board lacks the necesssary attention span to even watch an entire movie for themselves. Race isn't the main theme of the movie. The family could've easily been white and thematically nothing would be lost.
I'd assume she could find it eventually.
She got choked as kid. Now that you mention it, how did she know the government made the clones?
Literally just finished it. Well shot but man it was honestly boring as fuck. The last half just sucks.
>it took her 23 years to find the exit
either there were government documents somewhere down there that she found or that's just her theory from observing the clones
there's a lot wrong with how the clones were handled but that wasn't particularly bad
>*33 years
I'm tired
Why do you faggots even get triggered by Get Out anyway? The target of the movie wasn't even conservatives, but rich white liberals. That was made extremely obvious.
That bit about tunnels at the start was so fucking dumb, by the way. This film felt like it just needed a way better reason for the doubles. What a waste of a potentially cool setup.
mean lean
Well none of the main cast are white males so by default it is anti white
I thought that was going to be about the tunnels used by the KKK kek
No, it was just weird but not in a good way. Probably would have made a better Outer Limits episode.
That spergy dance fight at the end was honestly embarrassing.
You might as well ask "Why didn't the woman in Mother just call the cops?" or "Why doesn't the guy in The Lobster just date someone he doesn't have something in common with?" or "Why don't the people in The Purge just vote for someone else?"
because it's an allegory, the actual details don't matter
I’m taking a sack to the face right now
It ruins the allegory. If anything, it makes it seem like the poor could easily solve their problems if they had the sense to just help themselves.
Did that actually happen?
Yeah, if only they were educated by someone on a way to esca- oh.
>only 5 white people in the film
>some hobo, two cunty daughters, a cunt wife, and a retarded father
>they all die
Other then that, not really.
>It ruins the allegory
No it doesn't. Just like pigs and sheep and horses running a farm doesn't ruin Animal Farm.
Man, I never saw Get Out, but Peele gives me a strong vibe of a hack, who is praised only because of affirmative action.
This was the first movie I thought Elizabeth Moss looked hot as fuck in.
You are correct.
Its more like "Geez this weird explanation actually seems kind of stupid and ultimately disappointing to the premise the movie sets up"
Like why did the movie waste so much fucking time with all the 11:11 shit? It felt like it was trying to pad out a genuinely poorly planned reveal. What a terrible exposition dump. It sucks because I really loved how the opening mirror maze part was filmed and it turns out to be the literal high point of the movie - 5 minutes in and then the rest of the movie is all downhill. And yay I get my opinion lumped in with genuine retards triggered by niggers
because it's a case of "mess with one of us, mess with all of us", blindly defending the whites outside of context and thematic relevance.
These wiggers see "black man good, white man bad" and flip their shit.
They had to wait to RISE UP
There was the guy who yelled at the mirror daughter to get off his car and he either died or got his dick cut off.
I didn't really mind it, although the bit with the NWA playing was more stupid than funny. Honestly I don't know, the comedy was fucking over the place. My theater was laughing at the constant retard screeches and then there was awkward attempts at legitimate comedy like the family all sitting around the dead girl talking about Home Alone and traps.
i feel wrong, but that shot of her legs was pretty hot. Except for the fact that she was dead.
>Jeremiah 11:11
Therefore this is what the LORD says: 'I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them
seems appropriate
the tone of the movie was all over the place, it didn't get a flow going. it got good then some dumb shit happens and takes you out the movie
youtube.com
People are way overhyping Peele.
Tons of bible passages are appropriately ominous out of concept, it just seems like they picked it for the LOL DOUBLES angle. What I mean is why did it matter that it kept showing up? It felt like such a hokey attempt at baiting with a supernatural explanation (OMG I FEEL LIKE THE WORLD IS ENDING was hinted at like how many times) to throw people off from the lame "lol its an abandoned government project" reveal.
it's a convenient and funny coincidence, stop being autistic.
when they stopped to argue about who was going to drive after making a joke about their dead friends and while their doppelgangers were still alive and trying to kill them
How was it funny?
This movie was a miss for me, man. Well made but ultimately a poorly realized script.
>while being outside
That was such a stupid fucking scene, thanks for reminding me. And who can forget about the mom leaving the car to go into the woods after BUT ACKTUALLY SHES THE EVIL CRAZY DOUBLE SO IT MAKES SENSE THAT SHE'S ACTUALLY KIND AND CONSIDERATE TO THE INSANE BASEMENT PEOPLE LOLOLOL I BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT TWIST COMING
Why could the boy who couldn't act control his double to walk backwards, anyways?
I actually liked how she walked like ballet dancer during the entirety of the movie and was disappointed that they pointed it out at the end and dedicated a whole monologue about it. The whole movie would’ve been terrifying if they didn’t over explain every cool action and detail. Get Out never had this problem, never went into detail about the sunken place so I don’t understand why there were no mysteries left in this film
it seems like the whole controlling thing seemed to only be relevant when the script said so
>I actually liked how she walked like ballet dancer during the entirety of the movie and was disappointed that they pointed it out at the end and dedicated a whole monologue about it.
Why did they spend so much time on it?
Also this might sound retarded but where the fuck did she get her tutu from in the basement? At what point was this project abandoned? Because it seemed like it had been for years at that point.
I think the only parts that really worked for me were the spooky mirror maze at the start and the scene of her walking down the hall with the rabbits being eaten screaming.
I GOT FIIIVE AWN IT
Get Out did have its share of exposition right at the end with the blind guy. But I agree it wasn't as bothersome.
I think it's a matter of people wanting depth in this movie when it was clearly a straightforward slasher. You have people upset it doesn't have socio-political allegories and others who are desperately looking for them just to play up some anti-white narrative. of course some of the humor didn't work, do you not remember how terrible Key and Peele was?
I think she said it was abandoned generations ago
I just got back from seeing this and this has to be one of the most vanilla, safe, and dull horror movies I've ever seen. 4/10 at best
It wasn't simply a straight forward slasher though, it was shallow and ultimately disappointing.
So what, she made her own outfits down there? I'm not berating you, I'm more just expressing disappointment at the way this movie unraveled as it went.
You might as well ask yourself how were the clones even wearing clothes at all or where they got those scissors. But I do think that's fairly forgivable for the sake of allegories. The thing that bothered me the most were the little kid being the only one that still mimicked his original and the fact that Red somehow knew about the government experiments even though nobody down there could even talk.
The attempt at socio-political messages was extremely clear though, even if it wasn't race related. It was just extremely shallow and disappointing.
The scissors thing is pretty easy to handwave away, same with them having basic jumpsuits and stuff. Its all the really important details that the plot glosses over that bugs me, and the way it flubs so many reveals.
So, either I'm a brainlet or the director was. Did the double know she was a double? Her exposition suggested she didn't, that she thought she was one of those created and abandoned. If that's the case, how? Does choking someone somehow erase their memory? And conversely, how did the "real" girl forget where she came from, and become a sleeper agent of sorts?
Can't believe I'm saying this but I should have seen Capt. Marvel or some capeshit rather than Us. What a bad movie
I think I would have genuinely liked the movie more if the doubles thought they could get souls by killing their original selves. I don't even get what the fuck I was supposed to feel at the end.
The logistics for this movie require Olympic level mental gymnastics
I don't think neither forgot. The fact that Red was taking her sweet ass time to kill the family unlike the rest of the clones who were pretty straightforward suggests she was looking for revenge.
It does add a layer of stupidity when you realize she was just overexplaining things that the clone already knew.
I was really hoping for a supernatural element. During her monologue, it seemed as if she were literally a shadow, forged from some dark part of the real person; manifested in the darkest, most abandoned places, i.e subterranean tunnels.
>laughs like a lunatic when she kills the real one
>comforts the doppel kids when they die because she sympathizes with them
Pretty obvious she always remembered. Keep in mind everyone thought she stopped talking as a kid because of trauma. The truth is she never knew how to talk to begin with, she had to learn.
desu it would have been more interesting if they revealed she was a double early on and had part of the conflict revolve around her family accepting that and dealing with it on top of her own struggles dealing with the guilt of stealing this innocent person's life and abandoning an entire society of people.
it would have made more sense if that was their plan, clearly they just stopped being controlled at some point so it wasn't really necessary for the clones to kill anyone except for Red who just wanted revenge. The whole hands across america thing for exposure required no killing, yet they slaughtered millions of innocents for no reason.
>It does add a layer of stupidity when you realize she was just overexplaining things that the clone already knew.
In a weirdly cryptic vague way specifically designed to not alert the audience or the family that she was a real person.
I don't know man, what, did she just hang out there for decades just planning revenge against the surface? What? How did she even convince all the millions of doubles this?
During the ballet scene, did anyone else think that in the clone's live perfomance, she would make a crucial mistake that the underground one didn't during a mimic, which would allow her to gain the upper hand? They made it seem like the normal one stopped doing ballet because of some issue or accident, and I assumed she couldn't pull off a move that Red could, and red remembered this and used it to her advantage, but that wasn't the case.
I was honestly too distracted by the shitty music to really get into that scene, as well shot as it was.
I thought it was going to be something similar, like surface girl realizes that Red knows her every move so she has to do something out of character to get the upper hand. I guess Red just deciding to throw for no reason work too.
Why did she even need to take revenge? Just leave.
>How did she even convince all the millions of doubles this
That was mildly understandable. They realized that she was different and blindly followed her. Seemed like they had their own way of communicating with each other.
Critical analysis of this fucking trash pile.
Has over exposure corrupted me or is Lupita Nyongongolo really cute in like an alien way?
Black people as dark as her really get me going for some reason, probably due to the stark contrast of their teeth--if they're well-groomed by Hollywood--and eyes.
Boy I wish the film had spend more time doing something with all the interesting ideas it had instead of fucking around with stupid shit.

Stop linking your channel, faggot. Go attention-whore elsewhere.
lol you're such an insecure fuck. just jerk off to her if you like how she looks.
I mean her clone crushed her throat, stole her life, and handcuffed her to a bed assuming that she would never escape. I think revenge is justified, just not in the way she went about it.
“Dude like why didn’t they just totally fly to Mordor bro lol”
To be fair, they were all pretty much murdered before the song came on

whats next for the new master of horror. id like to see him do a zombie movie based in chicago called Night of the Living Dindus
This movie made 0 fucking sense. Feels like Peele got coked up and wrote the script in one session, while simultaneously smashing his head into the desk to forget details.
Too many nonsensical twists and reveals to actually be engaging.
I dropped a report on the video, hope you enjoy it.
He's at the helm of the Twilight Zone reboot.
i know that but i meant movie wise
>if I pretend this movie wasn't badly written it means it wasn't!
okay user
You can expect another "horror" thriller with shots that are too longer, bordering on awkward, "hah, quirky black people" humor, and black people interacting with white people in a way that suggests Jordan has no idea how races actually interact.
>Peele produced the film alongside Jason Blum and Sean McKittrick (with the trio previously having collaborated on Get Out and BlacKkKlansman), as well as Ian Cooper.
Oscar bait: the production company
I think the clones have some “tethered” inate mimicking nature to themselves(it’s why the government or whatever planned to use them to control the above ground people... people seem to have control over their other counter part this the tethered thing and the moms clone was somehow less effected and able to wander out of the facility while the other clones continued mimicking. The real mom character who was trapped underground was the only person who had lived with free will and knew speech so she slowly taught the other clones to fight the mimicking urge and rise up instead, I think her voice was from having no one to talk to and being strangled by her clone. the little boy was youngest and so he didn’t have as much “will” to not mimick as the other clones who were older. The scene in the closet shows he naturally mimics back with his counterpart more than the others did. also his burn may have been caused by the “real” version playing with the magic trick “last year” where as his clone was playing with real fire/matches.
The real “plot hole” is how do the clones have the same clothing? Where the hell is that coming from? Should have been in red jump suits the whole time underground as without some controlling government experiment still being active and GIVING th clones consistent clothing with their above ground counter parts there’s no way they should have that stuff.
Is there any point in watching Black Klansman if you're white? I don't see the point in seeing a movie if I'm going to be shat on just for the color of my skin.
No, Adam Driver portrays a jew
>expecting a nigger to think of continuity
since you're an easily triggered little bitch, no.
Yeah that was the stupidest part to me. Like the double dad holding up the t shirt for the double daughter - where the fuck did that come from?
I can accept some bullshit but this movie pushed it too far. The premise was not good enough for this ridiculous level of suspended disbelief.
I felt worse for the rabbits than the doubles anyways.
Its pretty good but if you're going to be triggered at white racists existing you probably won't like it.
>hah, I called you triggered first! Now you can't say that about me!
Why do you consume the media of a people not your own?
Here's what I and a bunch of anons from one of the last threads worked out.
>The doppelgangers have the power to control their "real" selves
>This is why Red/the real Addy was forced to dance underground when her doppel was dancing above ground
>both families, the Wilsons and the Evil Wilsons, have human-doppelganger hybrid kids because of Red and "Addy"
>for some reason, the sons seem to get hit the hardest with this
>because "Addy" is a doppelganger, Jason is more doppelganger than human
>and because Red is a human, her son Pluto is more human than doppelganger
>this is why Pluto is able to talk, a trait he shares with his human mother, and his sister and father are both savage animals
>this is also why Jason is able to control Pluto to walk backwards into the fire — because he's inherited his mother's ability
my theater would not stop laughing and saying shit like "oh my god" and "noooooo." too many niggers
>white people symbols
>water
>triggered at white racists existing
What? Do you even know who you're replying to?
Why did you post your reply twice?
>>The doppelgangers have the power to control their "real" selves
It seemed like the opposite, though. The doubles underground were impacted by the real thing. Nowhere did the movie ever show a double making a real person do anything.
user, niggers can't think with depth. Stop this exercise
Because I saw your post and wanted to answer your question.
How is the look of the film? People are praising it so highly
They literally say the government created the doppelgangers to control the people above ground though. Also, you see real Addy/Red as a child being controlled by her doppelganger who's above ground dancing.
this happened at my theater
Lupita is imperceptible in some scenes because of how dark her skin is and niggers can't correct for this in post-production
They also literally say the government abandoned the project - probably because it didn't work.
Nowhere do we ever, EVER see a double controlling a person. The whole Addy/Red shit is just bizarre and the film implies their relationship is special.
>Addy/Red
stop this, please. My normie fucking sister said this shit earlier today and I hate it.
What the fuck am I supposed to call them to please your autism, user?
playing devil's advocate here, but how would red know anything? she was just a little girl when she was switched and she's pretty obviously deeply insane. the whole government thing is so retarded it sounds like something a kid would have concluded (which she was) or something a crazy person would make up (which she is now).
Adelaide and doppelganger, Jesus fucking Christ how much of an illiterate child are you?
I would have liked it more if that were addressed but from the way the film presents it, she's clearly being depicted as an accurate narrator. I have no idea why she would say all this stuff to the double who strangled her and took her life, though.
Why are you making excuses for this? Does Peele pay you?
Fuck off nigger, I didn't like the movie enough to waste more time writing character names other than what was presented in the fucking credits.
>durrr you gotta call her Adelaide
Nah, go fuck yourself, retard. I'll call her Addy.
They died to good vibrations retard
Considering he called Peele's writing retarded I think you may have made a dumb assumption.
there's nothing presented in the movie that would counter what she says as far as I recall, plus someone had to build that facility and install an escalator.
That could refer to either of them you fucking retard.
Red is the real Adelaide. The real doppelganger spends the entire movie being called Adelaide. Therefore, referring to them as Red/real Addy and Addy/doppelganger or some kind of variation is perfectly acceptable. Stop being a pedantic cunt because your bitch sister triggered your autism.
Do you even remember the movie you just watched? Three of them died to Good Vibrations, then the mom died to Fuck The Police
A Siri misunderstanding what was said joke, how high brow
are you ok man?
You're a lying sack of shit because the credits literally list her full name, and you liked the movie enough to not only enter a discussion about it, but propose "theories" as to character motivations and plot elements. If memorizing a fucking name of all things is strenuous, you need help, but no, you're being a backpedaling, hyperbolic faggot about a shit nigger movie. You're a fucking cuck and if you reply to me, your mother will die in her sleep tonight.
You have legitimate autism. Were you chained in a basement for years, like Addy was?
>Defending a film made by a nigger
God, what has Yea Forums come to
Seek help.
Yeah they should have been in jump suits just miming what was happening above ground. The T-shirt itself could have been a good plot point as it’s something th clone could easily steal and the parents might not notice she doesn’t have her normal clothing underneath. Frankly being more subtle and having the audience have to NOTICE the little girl being driven home from the beach has a red jump suit underneath the t shirt and completely cutting out the “twist” explanation at the end of the movie would have made the whole thing far better and more up for interpretation. Just have the mom smile weirdly at the end and have her do the clone noises a bit when killing the real mom (she did) and that would have been enough “clues” and made it much more discussable.
Sadly this was also how I felt about get out which was too ham fisted with the race stuff, instead just subtlety drop the Jesse Owens stuff and never mention they are targeting blacks people specifically and have the audience figure that out. Saying the theme or twist outright really hurts how interesting and discussable a movie can be but sadly spoon feeding audiences the “interesting” part apparently gets you more praise cause people are that dumb these days and need it told to them to realize the interesting part of what they just watched.
>being anything but mindlessly critical means you're shilling
also i said the government origin was so retarded only a nut or a dumb kid would conclude it, which she is. it's still a dumb explanation that fucks the movie over, but it makes a little more sense if you assume it's not the real explanation. how is that incorrect?
You swallow nigger semen and rape children.
Could be worse - I could be you.
Embarrassing rant from a mentally ill faggot.
>Addy/Red
Stay triggered you massive cocksucker.
>I-I'll just niggerspam, that'll get them off my back!
You actually have to be offended by that word for it to work, autismo.
Did you quote me by mistake, user?
I sincerely hope a terrible fate befalls you, your family, and anyone you love. Your obsession with and devotion to niggers is despicable and you are not a proponent of Western civilization. You don't belong here, you don't belong anywhere; everything you are is an embarrassment to mankind.
Same with her playing with her toys and having the focus be on the rabbit. There was a lot of good visual storytelling in this movie but it was completely wasted with shitty handholding reveals and exposition dumps.
You seem like a legitimately miserable person so I can't imagine your life can get much shittier.
Why did you pay to watch media created and distributed by a race not your own? Answer the fucking question
I did, sorry dude. This is what happens when you argue with a retard. You become a little bit retarded yourself.
They aren't like you, user. You can't trust them. You can't relax around them. They will eat you up and there's nothing you can do to stop it with this mindset of tolerance.
This movie sure brings out the racism in you guys
Also it was a 5/10 at best
Its all good user, its nice to see some legitimate people voicing their opinions about the film and not spergs whining about niggers or whatever the fuck this guy's deal is:
>It's nice to find some reddit tourists discussing literal propaganda in which niggers defeat painless, nigh superhuman whites
You're psychologically broken
triggered much?
Because it's nu-Yea Forums where half of us are shitposting for (You)s and the other half are sincerely, genuinely autistic enough to think a mediocre horror movie will be the downfall of white civilization because it was directed by a black guy.
I just spent a stupid amount of time falseflagging in another thread about women are evil. It's very, very easy to mess with you guys and even easier to find people who believe this.
>I just LARP'd in a thread, a complete waste of my time, because haha f-fuck you racist nazi punks!
Why do you come here?
>"Why doesn't the guy in The Lobster just date someone he doesn't have something in common with?"
But he does. The heartless woman from the hotel.
You must really not value your free time.
this board is like crystal cafe for redditors
>it's an allegory
It's really not though. Peele has done interviews where he's said that it doesn't have any deep racial meanings like Get Out or a message past "we are our own worst enemies." Therefore, any fault Us has is with its own lazy writing and world building, not because it's 2deep. Fucking Night of the Living Dead conveyed this message much better than anything in Us did. So have many other horror movies before it.
Candy Man
Peele didn't write the movie. He can't, his Jewish wranglers did.
>incorporating Hands Free Fapping into your horror movie
Unironically brilliant, and totally out of left field.
>Captioned reaction

wtf is wrong with you?
>Gary Larson is facebook-tier comedy
Can't fault your logic on that one, broski
fucking commie nigger
>Why was the boy able to control his doppelganger?
The "Tethered" are mirrors of the person. The son (Jason) is wearing the ape mask and is constantly trying to use is trick lighter that never works. His Tethered has a working match, mimics his moves, shrieks and crawls on all fours like an animal. This is in reference to Jason's ape mask - think "monkey see, monkey do." When we see his Tehtered's face, it both appeared burnt (in possible reference to the fire) as well as appears similar to Jason's ape mask. The final act of "monkey see monkey do" is when the Tethered mirrors Jason's actions and walks into the flames.
fuck off retard, this isn't reddit. imagine getting this uppity and passive aggressive.
Or because without white-ushered civilization protocols, niggers naturally behave like monkeys.
reddit tier replies
None of that explains why the boy was able to control his double when nobody else could (even though we see them being controlled in flashbacks like the carnival stuff).
Imagine getting completely assblasted about calling the protagonist Addy.
Incoming wall of text 1 of 3
The main themes of the movie are masks and mirrors and we see this numerous times in the movie. Masks, of course, are to obfuscate a person's identity from reality. Some examples of "masks" include:
1.) the boy (Jason) wears a mask.
2.) the rich friend (Kitty) gets plastic surgery - essentially as mask.
3.) the film's poster shows the lead actress holding a mask of her own face.
4.) in the film's early therapy session it mentions that the main character (Adelaide) may have PTSD and may need to "find herself." People with PTSD sometimes experience the dissociative symptom of derealization where they do not feel like their body is their own. This is another "mask."
Throughout the movie, there are many shots that involve mirrors or mirror-like surfaces (such as glass tables). Most obvious of all is the film starting in a Hall of Mirrors. The idea of mirrors/reflections are there to reinforce that the "tethered" are "mirrors" of the people on the surface. The bible verse, Jeremiah 11:11 is in itself a mirror image of itself. The number 11 is a mirror of itself as well, and when Adelaide gets her prize she wants "number 11." Another mirror is in the presence of the twin girls that are in sync with each other.
2/3
Here are some examples of how the Tethered are mirrors of their real counterparts:
1.) the dad (Gabe) in the movie is the most talkative character, often saying things that he quickly needs to apologize for. His mirror is frequently making intelligible noises to mirror the inanity of Gabe's dialogue.
2.) the son (Jason) is wearing the ape mask and is constantly trying to use is trick lighter that never works. His Tether has a working match, mimics his moves, shrieks and crawls on all fours like an animal. This is in reference to Jason's ape mask - think "monkey see, monkey do." When we see his Tehtered's face, it both appeared burnt (in possible reference to the fire) as well as appears similar to Jason's ape mask. The final mirror is when the Tethered mirrors Jason's actions and walks into the flames.
3. the daughter (Zora) is the dour looking teen that wants to stop doing track/cross country. Her mirror is constantly grinning and is an exceptional runner. When her Tethered dies, she is mangled in a way that her face is upside down - turning her smile into a frown.
4. Kitty's mirror is seen putting on lipstick and cutting her face with scissors, this of course is a mirror of the real Kitty getting plastic surgery.
5. Kitty's husband (Josh) earlier in the movie is talking down to Gabe about forgetting to buy a flare gun for his boat. It is implied by Gabe that Josh got his new care to "show off" his wealth. In the scene where Josh's Tether dies, it is on his boat and he is killed by his flare gun. Furthermore, right before he dies, the Tether is making a squawking sound and moves his arms around like someone impersonating a chicken - sort of the "big cock of the walk" or "peacocking" almost.
6. the twins, of course, are murdered by their mirrors in an in sync manner that matches their nature.
>The bible verse, Jeremiah 11:11 is in itself a mirror image of itself. The number 11 is a mirror of itself as well, and when Adelaide gets her prize she wants "number 11."
This is such surface level stuff. Its like seeing Jesus and Superman in profile in the same shot.
>His mirror is frequently making intelligible noises to mirror the inanity of Gabe's dialogue.
That's retarded because literally all the doubles are dipshits who REEEEEE. Also the double of the dick friend is still a dick.
>Hollywood movie
>2019
Gee, I wonder.

The twist of the movie is that the lead character (Adelaide) is one of the original "Tethered." There are are multiple clues that hint at this throughout the movie. The Hall of mirrors has the phrase "find yourself" printed on the the front of the building - this of course goes along with the therapy/PTSD scene of the lead needing to "find herself" in drawing or dancing. The theme of mirrors plays into the clues as well, as Adelaide is constantly looking at mirrors. In the therapy scene, we are seeing the parents talk to the therapist in the reflection of a mirror. Whenever Adelaide has "flashbacks" of herself dancing as a little girl, it's when she is looking in a mirror. We ASSUME that the Adelaide we see is a dancer because of these images. Kitty hints that she isn't a dancer any longer when she says "didn't you used to be a really great dancer?" However, in her final confrontation with her Tethered it becomes clear this isn't the case. When she is fighting her Tethered underground, the fight scene is intercut with images of Adelaide dancing. During the fight, Adelaide is clumsy thrashing and fighting, while the Tethered is gracefully dodging and prancing about like a dancer. It isn't until the post-fight flashback that this is confirmed.
Other examples that go along with the films theme of mirrors is the fact that the film both begins and ends with shots from the carnival scene - which makes the film itself become a mirror. Many of the scenes are shot with perfect symmetry, which make each side of the frame a mirror of each other. The hands across America cutouts at the end are of course more mirrors/copies of each other. Another mirror in the carnival scene can be seen when two people are playing rock paper scissors, as both of them mirror each other by throwing out scissors.
I believe the reason for scissors being the weapon of the Tethered is symbolic in order to "cut" their tether.
Just my thoughts after catching a midnight showing.
How old are you? Is this a junior high school film analysis?
GUYS GUYS GUESS WHAT? ITS A FUCKING MOVIE SO QUIT GETTING UPSET OVER A MOVIE PLUS NONE OF YOU COULD NEVER MAKE A MOVIE SO QUIT PLAYING ARMCHAIR DIRECTOR
>Guys
>CAPS
>St-stop arguing, we're all bros here
Guess where you came from?
Most of it is pretty surface level, just stuff I noticed. Off to bed now. Critique what I've got and I'll review in the morning.
please stop posting ugly women

Geez Sherlock, how did you miss the super obvious BUNNY TOY she was playing with in the therapist's office?
Because he's a human-tethered hybrid. They even mention early on that there's something weird about him before the doubles even show up.
Everything is anti-white if you live on Planet Crazy.
>Because he's a human-tethered hybrid.
So is the daughter, dipshit.
Ha ha, wow.
The daughter clearly takes after her father. It's the sons on both sides who take after their moms.
I think its far more likely your HE WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE DOUBLE BECAUSE HE'S A DOUBLE/HUMAN HYBRID theory is just retarded because we never see this with the daughter. Case closed.
>dumb, young, uneducated nigger child mimicking the dumb, young, slightly more educated nigger child because he's "wiser"
It's like you don't have older siblings you tried to impress and were ultimately beaten to insensate delirium by
Wow what a retarded response. I actually have an older sister, funnily enough. None of that has anything to do with your dumb UM HE COULD CONTROL THE DOUBLE BECAUSE HE WAS A HYBRID fanfiction, by the way.
>your
>fanfiction
What, honestly what the fuck are you on about? my entire comment denounces the retarded bullshit of the other user and provides a simple, nigger-capable explanation of, he was doing it because his "real" version was doing it and he's a fucking impressionable child. No deeper meaning, niggers aren't capable of that; a simple, straightforward, earnest reason. Go back to fucking Facebook you semen-swallowing darkie
Oh sorry thanks for clarifying, you're an entirely different retard.
The sciccors are also two pairs of objects that come together to make one object.
Also I really liked the white/red color palette of this film
That's not me, user. Sorry you fell for the guy who keeps racebaiting to derail actual conversation about the movie.
The tethered represent Trump supporters and disenfranchised "flyover Americans" during the 2016 election, think of all the smug liberals who insist that Trump voters aren't "real Americans". The last shot is literally helicopters "flying over" the tethered accross America
Us= United States
WAIT SO U BE SAYIN
>SMACKS LIPS
My theater audibly groaned at "We're Americans" so I think it was a pretty limp line.
My theater laughed, so I think it was good
No and there aren't any "race" related topics discussed.
