when Sivana was a boy he was initially chosen by Shazam to be Earth's champion, but he gave into temptation by the sins and rejected before he could claim the power. He grows up and becomes obsessed with finding the wizard and taking the power. He eventually figures it out and unleashes the sins who make him their champion. They tell him to kill Billy and he tries for half the movie eventually he has Billy and his family cornered but Billy realizes Shazam allowed him to make others like him and turned his family into the Shazam family. Thy fight Sivana and the sins and eventually win. Sivana get's thrown in jail but is approached by Mr. Mind that since magic failed him it's time to try science.

after Sivana gets the power of the sins he immediately goes to confront his dad (who happens to be Lionel Luthor's actor from smallville), brother and the board of executives of the family company. He throws his brother out a window and then unleashes the sins on the board. It's actually quite brutal, lasts a good amount of time and pushes the limits for PG-13

Sivana goes apeshit on the Board of which his dad and brothers are lead members of. They treat him like crap until Sivana grabs and throws his brother out a window 50 stories up with no warning then summons the Sins. There's no gore but a lot of implication. For example, one member is lifted bodily with the Sin spreading his mouth wide. There's a wet crunch and the human goes limp. It is severely much more hardcore than I expected but Shazam surprises you when a psychologist dissolves into a pile of burnt bones on her encounter with magic.

someone will probably explain it better than me, but, the bad guy walks into a board room meeting locking the door behind him. at the table is the ceo ( who is the father of the bad guy ) and the bad guys brother ( sitting next to his dad ). the bad guy grabs his brother and throws him out of the window. then the bad guy unleashes his seven deadly gargoyle type things on the board. one of the monsters bites a guys head off then throws him out of the building. then the last one alive is his dad. the dad is begging for his life, he says he will give him any amount of money, he will give the whole company to the bad guy. bad guy tells his dad that he doesn't want his company, he has all the power in the form of his seven deadly monsters. as bad guy is walking out of the board room, he sicks one of the monsters on him and you see him getting torn apart in the background. knowing the backstory of how bad guy gets his powers earlier in the movie makes this scene a lot better

There was one tidbit in the movie that I found especially powerful Billy spends the whole movie and eventually finds his real mom, but it's revealed that she purposely ditched him because her life was going to shit and she didn't want to take care of him. She moved on with her life and wants nothing to do with Billy. She comes off as a massive cunt which is refreshing in this post CM and metoo world

theater was packed, no bullshit, it was a bunch of typical dc retards though, laughing at shit that was in the trailers. in the post credits they take a jab at aqua man, and the guy in front of me goes "Uh oh, aqua man ain't gonna be too happy about that!". the movie was actually great though, best dc movie out of the bunch, easily, and a lot more fun than any of the marvel movies in the past 5 years. disney is fucked and captain marvel was pretty fucking bad. if you think aqua man did good, this movie is going to slay.

I loved the two carnival scenes with Billy and his mom. With Billy, his flashback has it so the background colors are much softer and his mom much more loving. She sounds like a tired but lovable mom. But when his mom is flashing back to the same moment, the world feels grittier and even though the dialogue is the exact same, now she's audibly strained and pissed off when Billy is asking her to win him a prize.

It was good. He was better at serious scenes than comedic ones. That's not to say he was bad at comedy, but it was all teenage snark while Levi showed off comedic with a lot of physical comedy. That said it's not an amazing performance.

There is exactly one bad kid actor and that's young Sivana. He only shows up for 5 minutes thankfully.

Superman gets triggered when Zod threatens to kill Martha Kent, BvS was really the only movie that payed any attention to Bruce's mom and it got memed for it, Diana's relationship with her mother in Wonder Woman, and the death of Ocean Master's mother is ultimately what fuels his motivation to go all genocidal on the surface.

The fight scenes are fun, but overall the CGI in the movie isn't great. The whole movie looks likes a TV movie from the mid-2000s almost.

A LOT of the movie, and especially the final battle between Sivana and Shazam reminded me of Man of Steel. Shazam was almost like a kids version of Man of Steel, and I mean that as a compliment.

100%. And I really liked the set design of the The Wizard's layer. The entire movie made me wish I was a kid again. It's the type of movie, like Flash Gordon and The Pagemaster, that I would've loved and watched over and over again. It's not perfect but it has a certain magic to it, excuse the pun.

I thought of it as extra funny since they only figured out about lightning powers, so their first idea is to see what powers Raiden have to mimic it. A real kid idea.
