Is this maybe the most subtly bleak portrayal of humanity I’ve ever seen in a movie. Not sure why so many critics focused on the comedy aspects when there is so much more underneath that
I don’t wanna give it away in the OP though, you owe it to yourself to watch this movie
>entire movie keeps hammering home the contrast between the rigid structures humans place themselves in and our emotional, evil, animalistic behavior >sex underlies all power, power underlies all sex >whole movie focuses on competition for preferential treatment while even the prized Horacio the Duck is just a brainless animal running in circles >that last shot >after everything Abigail has done to get to where she is, she’s still a cheap slave and prostitute, performing sexual favors for a broken, sick, stupid baby of a queen >the rabbits >unending sex, unending stillbirths, unending deaths, unending sorrow >is this the nature of biology and humans are never going to escape no matter how fine the palaces we live in are
Don’t read any of that til you see it Anyways, what did you all think
Gavin Mitchell
You take that back
Jackson Campbell
This is all spot on. Terrific movie. There isn't enough confronting morbidity in film.

Bump, I wanna hear some thoughts here fellas
Luis Baker
It's far less bleak than his earlier work. No more bleak than Scorsese's typical stuff.
But yeah, it's fantastic.
Jonathan Scott
Scorsese’s stuff focuses on dark things but I don’t think it’s typically as damning of the human spirit as this movie
Luis Collins
hopefully no one believes any of this shit hollywood trying to indoctrinate everyone into nihilistic communists
William Jackson
>bluhh bluhhh but we aren’t actually that bad right?? no way can humans be that bad Holy shit it’s art, it’s not supposed to make an end-all be-all statement, it’s supposed to give you something to think about for a while I genuinely believe in a beauty to humanity, that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a really dark exploration of it
John Torres
Schema is the same, backdrop doesn't change it. The power dynamics are always at play, someone fucks someone. Sex and power, agents of the id, trample over super-ego, no matter how strong the reasoning. Humans are weak in this regard, easily manipulated, but then again, one who manipulates, jumps into the same pit of ontological darkness where the innocent resides. Only way to not play the game is to not be invited. Sarah won.
Samuel Bailey
It needed Emma's naked ass to be perfect
Andrew Morgan
It’s a pretty cynical movie. It was pretty great, but I completely disagree with it’s view of the world.
Caleb Wright
Some of the people I talked to who saw the movie said that the Queen was a strong and powerful feminist that we need to see more of in movies. Were they wrong?
Cameron Torres
I’m pretty sure your friend was just on autopilot while they watched The queen is an emotionally stunted, genetically broken child who is manipulated by both her emotions and everyone around her
Carter Foster
Nice, I thought that was the director’s intent too but now that I know I’m wrong I’ll give it a rewatch. Thanks user!
Christian Robinson
Hope you enjoy user!
Juan Wilson
lol there’s a scene where she shoves cakes down her throat and has someone hold a bucket for her to puke into to make more room
Ayden Morgan
your friend should give up on film
Hudson Ward
I refuse to watch it cause the queen is fuck ugly and weisz and stone don't even have sex with each other. The fuck were they thinking
John Nelson
i will never understand you people just watch some porn and get it out of your system

Good point. I guess I’m talking harm-reduction, very-first-step type stuff here If you’re so uncontrollably horny that you can’t watch a movie without hot people fucking, at least get it out of your system to you can sit still and appreciate something
Bentley Lopez
>i will never understand you people obviously.
