the movie

Because it's actual horror and the director understood it.
Horror is not just a genre, it's a science of brain patterns in humans. And this movie takes advantage of those patterns.
Not like """""horror""""" such as The Nun and whatever the fuck else Hollywood shits out early.

t. reddit

>spot the retard that buys into memes as actual opinions

Looks kind of like James May.

this but unironically

yeah dude the only TRUE horror for us MEN is found footage jumpscares #1049

Cinema of the unsettling.

What are some good horror films then? Keep in mind I think horror films are for low IQ plebs

because shes an 11 year old with bigger tits than most women. You feel conflicted about your sexuality and attraction to weird busty lolis

I had a hard time watching the last 10 minutes, name a better ending to a horror

It's not a very precise science then because Hereditary didn't even vaguely scare me. And some movies do

I even like some A24 movies, I thought the Witch was fucking great for example, but Hereditary was just nothing but obnoxious to me

Nothing is precise in regards to brain. Some people are deeply repulsed by "trypophobia", some have no reaction at all.
What triggers it is the recognition in the patterns of holes close together that resembles bug eggs. It's evolutionary memory, so we reject it because it resembles something that might be bad for our ape ancestors.
Some people are very creeped out by uncanny valley, others not at all. Again, evolutionary response to reject outsiders and keep a group bound and closed together which will increase the rate of survival.

Hereditary doesn't scare me but I can recognize those patterns being used artistically and appreciate them.

I didn't find it unsettling at all. It was actually a huge relief when the boy finally finds out he has some use to the world around him besides re-enacting scenes from Everybody Hates Chris. The little girls death was already taking place through her first difficulty breathing. I've fuged through some of the kind of magic this girl went way way deep into and what tiny bit of symbolic gesture or performance art prophecy I've (again) fuged through was dangerous and damaging so I expected bad things for her. She cuts a bird head off on my goodness I've had to yell about stuff like this because I go
Forget it lost motivation

trypophobia is interesting to me in that I can immediately identify if a picture triggers it in other people, but I dont have the revulsion response myself

based schizo poster

Fucking /x/ posters

Sh. Most people act like bags of depressed shit and I learned the scientific method while the bags of depressed shit people were learning how to pass. I use to think it was believable that I was was mentally unwell yet I never believed it to be true. But now that I remember that how much I go through to verify anything I believe through analysis and
Forget it I lost motivation

Because its prays on much more relatable fears than "there is a spooky boogins hiding in the house somewhere". The whole thing is about a families destruction from both outside and internal forces. The cult obviously pose a threat but so does the complacency and dysfunction that already exists within the family. Its what makes them ignore the numerous signs of the incoming danger. Their inability to be honest with each other and to truly have the hard conversations families often avoid allows for even more damage to be done in the long term. Whether or not you had a stable or unstable upbringing chances are you can relate to avoiding difficult confrontations with your loved ones even when confrontation is right thing to do.

Oh yeah, it isn't believable.

That honestly takes away from the horror though. The pain of family dysfunction is very real, so real that it makes the supernatural stuff seem like a meme.

Why are you associating horror with ghouls and goblins to begin with though? Where does that come from?

>busty lolis
yum

You know what's really scary? Libtards. Even scarier? They get to vote.

because horror is not just 'really bad shit happens', horror is supposed to be something that short-circuits your entire cognitive frame and makes you recoil and panic

Then what are some patrician horror films?

Invasion of the Body Snatchers Nomoy Sutherland
Fire in the Sky
Trolls
Nightmare on Elm street
They Live

Could this Creatura beat El Ayuwoki?

The Human Condition

I like every movie here

She has the same thing that the Stranger Things goblin?

This is bait

Imagine actually spending time making that image

Stop replying to it you fucking retards. You know that's all they want. Jesus.

Those aren't even horror!

Someone hit me with a legitimately scary movie to watch before the sun comes up. I've already seen poughkeepsie tapes.

Fire in the Sky. You can also pick anything from that bait image posted above, mostly they're all good movies.

What's Your favorite scary movie user?

Fire in the Sky it is. Thanks, user.

>Because its prays on
Let me stop you right there.
Cringe.

imply that horror movies could even be good, they're all trash

This. I've always hated the bluepilled fags who say "real life is what's truly scary durr"
Real life isn't fucking scary, and if you think it is you're unironically a little bitch.
>muh family drama is real horror
No. It's not. There nothing scary about a dysfunctional family. There's nothing scary about people who are bad at communicating their feelings. There's nothing scary about anything that happens all the fucking time irl.

meme boi spotted.

Why do soi cucks have the same bot opinions about horror?

Attached: images (5).jpg (361x408, 19K)

The more attention you give the more frequently this image gets posted.

it lures you into common expected horror tropes then suddenly shifts. it's grating and puts you off center

Horror movies don't need to be scary.

Yes, I prefer slow-burn atmospheric movies over cheap jumpscares.

Oh no some neet spent 1000 hours in mspaint to make a chart calling me a onions boy, sure got me, got me good.

Ya alot of the movie made me uncomfortable just because watching some shitty family just sucks. The spooky parts like the ending were done well but I was to depressed to care by then.

>jumpscare is the only kind of scary.

Nigga she is deformed, no one is attracted to that thing

Seething, that image triggers the pseudo intellectual soi cucks hard

Very high quality bait thread, as seen by the replies.

im not conditioned to horror movies and hereditarys end scenes actually spooked me

One frame here she looked kinda cute.

Cute like a deformed puppy struggling to even breathe.
