The Jedi and the Senate clearly have something of a working relationship based on the prequels that extends beyond mere tolerance, but again too lazy to look for real examples besides the fact that the Jedi served as generals during the war

Bane was the only Sith survivor and went on to create the rule of two. Other user gave you a wrong impression as well. The Jedi are legally integrated into the Republic. They serve as a peacekeeping force as part of the Republic's judicial branch. They also have to follow Republic law which includes orders from the senate and its chancellor.
