i'm not surprised they've got other interests and in this day and age of tv they can always revisit it after some years away. i don't even watch it anymore really i hate the angel stuff they bought in but i grew up with these characters more or less. it's had a big impact and jared padalecki has done a lot with it as a platform. it deserves a good send off i hope sam gets some peace. he's my boy it's all i fucking want.

My brother and I always joked the show would never end, like everyone else. We started watching it back around 2012 I think after I picked up the first season on DVD during black friday, and we've watched the entire show together since then, even now that we live in different states. Best impulse buy I ever made.

I hope the finale manages to wrap it up in a satisfying way. I have a feeling it will basically end with them driving off into the distance as opposed to a more permanent sort of ending, but it would maybe be a bit depressing that they just hunt forever.

I want them to die in sacrifice and get their beach vacation played out in heaven. And the next gen picks up the weapons Sam and Dean left behind.

I was going to watch a few different shows today, been looking forward to them all week, now I just want to watch more supernatural, I have no inclination to watch anything else

I was going to watch other shows, lift weights and finish my laundry but i just slumped since the announcment

I watched the first five seasons with my sister way back when and it sparked my interest in the occult and religious mythology that's now my hidden party piece. Season 6 and 7 were sort of the backdrop to some pretty turbulent times in my life and I'm catching up now just in time to watch the end live.
Supernatural influenced my personality, my dress sense, my taste in music, and my ability to interact with the world.
End of an era for me, gutted it's ending but I'm glad it happened.

We need to find a new show to keep /comfy/ alive. Any posters with the time should watch pilots for as much as they can to try to find our next fix. There should be no shame attached to anons trying schlocky nonsense for the good of /comfy/ even if that means some of us end up watching shadowhunters or, god forbid, Grimm.

I know someone's been watching the Order but we need more choices. How's American Gods, anyone checked that out?

American Gods isn't that type of show its telling a very specific story with a beginning middle end, 8 to 10 eps every couple years, and probably only 3 seasons, besides we've spent years discussing buffy and angel and those ended a long time ago,don't see why we can't just keep doing it

The Man in the High Castle is pretty comfy at times but the good story is buried under quite a lot of bad and it comes with the /pol/ baggage

Objectively speaking it’s a very slow and dull burn from season 1 to season 2. I’m on season 3 now and the MOTWs kinda work because the creatures and cases are finally interesting and have more metaphors. The ensemble is nice because they have skillsets that compliment each other. However, the world building, lore and mytharc is still very offensively bland or vague. For what it’s worth, the template is there and it’s very much within the same alley but not quite the same caliber as Supernatural or Buffy/Angel. It does have 6 seasons and apparently a spinoff in the works

I finished that one. I got hooked. The two dudes share a good dynamic like Sam and Dean—not really as brothers but a pretty cool friendship. The main character is like Sam and Dean rolled into one. It’s intriguing as hell and has a few different creatures BUT it’s NOT MOTW+mytharc. It seems like it at first but by episode 3, it’s clearly serialized from the get go. Another downside is it’s only on season 1

I’m up to date on it. It’s style over substance and takes lots of liberty from the book. Quite slow but once they show the gods en masse, it gets pretty exciting. This inspired Supernatural’s pagan deities especially Hammer of the Gods. However, this is also NOT MOTW+mytharc. It’s very much serialized and possibly also ending in the current season (two).

Not at the start but there's this whole traveller story about people that can move between worlds. I'm not suggesting it as an alternative it's just the other show that I'm watching right now. I think I watch it specifically because it's so different, no streams get crossed
Probably, but Channel 4 did something similar here in the UK where they recruited screenwriters by getting them to pitch new shows and then most of them quit immediately because it turned out they didn't want to make any of the shows, so it's not impossible. It was a minor stink because Channel 4 tried to retain ownership of the premises so the writers couldn't take it elsewhere.

I'll check out the Order and the Magicians then.

He posts infrequently but we do catch him easily enough without him exclaiming who he is simply because when we talk about drafts/pitching pilots, he shares sound advice

I've seen Man in the high castle and read the bok years ago, it has a dimension hopping and mad science element but I still don't think its anything like these other shows
