cant be bothered getting into 50-60s japan kinos

godfather

Haven't watched Citizen Kane b/c it's in black and white. Also, I unironically prefer 2049 over the og Bladerunner.

Paths of Glory

I wont watch Lawrence of Arabia because the real event are just colonialism in action. I know i should separate irl than movie, but for topics like these I just leave.
t.arab

I want to watch chinatown but i don't want to betray my principles and watch something by that rapist kike polanski

my honor is at stake

Brade Wunner

Chinatown is as perfect as films get. You're really missing out. One of the all time great endings too.

If you are browsing this board you had little to no honor to begin with.

Gone with the Wind. Have zero interest.

Look at it this way ... he made the movie before taking that 13-yo to pound town. It's a pre-existing piece of art before he turned into a POS. Just watch it.

I shut 2001: A Space Odyssey off 15 minutes in. What a fucking circle jerk joke of a film. Literally 10 minutes of monkeys jerking off followed by 60's future music and interiors. What a fucking joke. The Shining is the only good Kubrick film and anybody who likes his other movies are pretentious Reddit soi boi beta cuck faggots. And I've sat through The Deer Hunter and Apocalypse Now Redux in one setting.

watched it last week, it holds up

BvS

I have never seen The Never Ending Story without falling asleep multiple times. Like I think the most I got was 40 minutes max.

I don't even care if it's great or shit; I just have zero interest in it for some reason. I know the type of movie it is and just can't stand that era and style of filmmaking for some reason.

It's all form, no substance.

frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

I realized I listed Chimes at Midnight twice so to even things out I'll add I've never seen Amadeus.

dont waste your time on that shitty movie, it sucks and youre going to feel like you wasted hours of time
dont make the same mistake i did

Never saw the exorcist.

Bullitt / Vanishing Point / Gone In 60 Seconds made absolutely no fucking sense but the car chases were excellent.

The music in the first is better

I haven't seen the following:

1.Pulp Fiction
2.The Godfather
3.The Breakfast Club
4.Top Gun
5.Dirty Dancing
6.The Last Starfighter
7.Sleepaway Camp
8.The Dark Crystal
9.Logan's Run
10.Highlander

Any of them good, Yea Forums?

ALL OF THEM

trying to get (you)s, jew?

I haven't seen The Last Starfighter, Sleepaway Camp, The Dark Crystal, Logan's Run, or Highlander. I can assure you that you are absolutely not missing anything watching Dirty Dancing. The rest are good but Godfather II is better.

It's okay, it feels like it just flies by and there should be more to it.

1 2 and 3 are must sees. 9 and 10 are solid memes. Rest are not required.

Give it another try, I tried watching Gattaca like 6 times and turned it off each time because it was so boring. On the seventh attempt I stuck through it, and it turned out to be one of my favorite movies about the triumph of the human spirit. 2001 may surprise you.

To Hell and Back

Guardians of the Galaxy

Good Burger. This is my favorite movie of all time. I'm a dude, she's a dude, we're all dudes. The film is simple poetic beauty. It makes me feel enlightened when I watch it more so than any movie has ever made me feel. On a spiritual level I feel more connected to the human race on an empathetic and intellectual level while viewing this masterpiece of modern cinema. Not only does it challenge your whole way of thinking but it transforms your thought process into something other worldly. There hasn't been a single movie I can compare it to that has the same amount of existential importance or God tier level of answers that this minuscule children's film has. I am no longer walking on this Earth blind, I have seen Good Burger, and I am now able to see everything else for what it is.

It isn't Good Burger.

woah it's like that 7th time you never saved anything for the viewing back

You sound like a woman

Depends on what you watch currently or have watched in the past, many if those movies were unique and/or innovative for their time and place history. Many of those films will seem boring or trite to you, potentially. It just depends on what you've already aseen and/or like.

The Godfather, Sleepaway Camp, Pulp Fiction, and perhaps Logan's Run are the only ones worth much. Unless you like straight forward random kid saves the galaxy type movies, then The Last Starfighter is pretty fun, but it's really more for children of the 80s...idk man. Hard to say, these particular movies you've chosen to mention are so varied. I can tell you this though the Godfather is a slow burn, you may be bored by it. Top Gun is more about the performances more than anything, I can't even recall the plot, I don't understand the love for it, but I saw it just last year myself, so I think I missed the boat on why it made such an impact.

Captain blood

I never got that far into it, always shut it off within the first 25 min or so =P

>movie is about never giving up
is this poetry?

A Clockwork Orange. I tried twice but just ended up falling asleep.

Lord of the Rings
Blade Runner (any of them)
I do watch a lot of 50-60s Japan kinos though unlike

>because it's in black and white
seriously
Why say Citizen Kane then and not just "any black and white movie"
Or have you seen others?

>never seen either blade runner
do you hate yourself, or something?

Honestly a really great list overall, 1/2-3/4 of it is pretty much a must see, but the five I listed are what I would recommend starting with as absolute essentials.

>stream

Platoon
Deer Hunter
Apocalypse Now
Citizen Kane
Schindlers List

All the Spaghetti Westerns

One Armed Swordsman

that australian movie about the drunk, i want to show that movie to my brother with ascites, also rosemary's baby and jacob's ladder...always avoided these movies for some reason.

>that australian movie about the drunk
wake in fright?

I've only watched The Godfather 6 times this month, is there hope for me?

NO

Attached: gnomes.jpg (1280x720, 143K)

A Clockwork Orange is like something an edgy 14 year old and his friends would make. Such a shit film

anybody whos seriously never seen the original star wars should kill themselves

yes

I fucking hated Citizen Kane

The more important question is how many times you've watched Part II.

I havent seen any of the star wars movies desu

Star Wars is shit. Lame American fantasy movie. Shit characters, boring story, anyone that likes it should kill themselves. Absolute shit

metropolis. Its been on my list for criminally long.

Silent films in general, can't make it 20 minutes into a silent movie without getting extremely sleepy.

Whatever Happened to... One Armed Swordsman is fucking kino watch it right now

It doesn't shy away from how the brits fucked over the arabs

Goddam she was so fucking hot

have you seen birth of a nation? I'm afraid of dozing off

Godfather is the only essential film on that list, and part 2 is even better
Pulp Fiction is good, but overrated

I fell asleep watching that one, and several other silent films. I love classics so I've sporadically tried to get into silent flicks for a long time. Just can't do it, no matter how much I want to fuck Louise Brooks

The Shining
Casablanca
Citizen Kane
A Clockwork Orange

probably a lot more but these are off the top of my head

Stars Wars. Never watched and I think I'll never will.

Attached: 1547565014939.jpg (1920x1867, 167K)

Just watch Flash Gordon instead, it's everything that was good about Star Wars with all the boring shit cut out

The only Disney animated movies I've seen are Finding Nemo and The Lion King

Casablanca
Metropolis
Reservoir Dogs

>seven samurai
>goodfellas
>taxi driver
but hey i finally got around to watching the sopranos

Never seen The Shining even though I've had it on my computer for years.

Wuthering Heights, is it good though?

never seen:
>Rocky
>Apocalypse now
>Full Metal Jacket
>Chinatown
>In the mood for Love
>any of the famous classic westerns (you know which ones I mean)

list goes prolly on but I'm a zoomer and still got plenty of time. *dabs*

The Deer Hunter
Raging Bull
The Elephant Man
Doctor Zhivago

>repeatedly trying to watch The Neverending Story and failing
Very strange

Is this Roger Ebert inspired? Great taste. I haven't seen most of these, most are on my list.

Attached: 1552507472799.jpg (1080x1073, 113K)

all of them i only watch cartoon network and gordan ramsay

Attached: smug snail.png (523x592, 362K)

Attached: discarded.jpg (680x680, 81K)

i've seen all pixar movies but not toy story

i thought it's pretty straight forward with the story? and there is not much actions and good scenes anyway it's feels like audiomovie

I've seen Schindler's List and The Twilight Zone, Satan.

Attached: 1552482132434.jpg (1920x1080, 153K)

I've never seen any of the Mad Max movies

Indiana Jones (any of them)
Back to the future (any of them)
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Akira

Dark Crystal is essential, rest don't matter

I've never seen the Godfather or most other gangster movies for that matter, classic, modern, whatever. They never seemed interesting to me.
The only one I've seen is Once Upon a Time in America.

I avoid any kino that has teen sex or any other degeneracy that I missed out on in it. Can’t think of specifics right now but stuff like pic related from what I’ve heard about it. When I do watch them I can’t get the metallic taste in my mouth from remembering how uneventful my teenage years were even if it’s a good movie.
