How did Cameron do it?
Titanic
It was a model obviously. Did you think he built a new Titanic and sunk it?
>[Cameron] created a large hole in the side of the ship and kept it a secret while he and other members of production safely evacuated the ship; filming the real reaction of fellow passengers of the ship as it began to sink.
I knew he wanted realism, but did he really need to kill those 800 mick savages?
Wizardry and autistic attention to detail
Titanic really is a technical marvel.
absolute madman
Seriously:
It was a good timing when there wasn't a good boat movie around and the disaster movies were popular.
It was a good timing when a new generation who grew up not seeing the older version came to puberty.
He threw in everything he got: costumes. Set. SFX. Teen idols.
So he made it
>a model
youtube.com
he made a "Titanic" of out plywood in Mexico and sank it in the Pacific ocean
>It was a good timing when a new generation who grew up not seeing the older version came to puberty.
Does that mean we can expect Disney to try and shit out their 21st century version of it now?
Yeah that's a big model.
They gave him money to prop up the conspiracy theory that the sinking wasn't intentional.
Unless they have a shrinking ray to shrink all those people I doubt it was a model. Are people at Yea Forums really this oblivious when it comes to making movies? Why do you think these movies have such a high budget?
>This video contains content from Fox, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.
Yes well done, Fox, well done.
...
are there icebergs in the pacific?
Up north, yeah.
DEATH!!!
>it was so obvious it was going to work!
remember how everyone thought this was going to be the biggest bomb in history
>spend millions on dressing and then flooding the dining room
>cut the scene anyway
Victor Newman!
True cinema magic. What was the last blockbuster to have great effects?
>white directors in 1997 vs black directors in 2018
forgot webm cause i'm retarded
to be honest it was just disney laudering money and throwing the director's work (even if minimal) in the trash
>mmmh yesss goyim suffering and dying, yessssss hhnnnnng
>this is what I enjoy watching, this makes my mutilated dick moist
>*starts stroking in jewish*
they squandered some some great mocap data that's for sure. should have got Weta/ILM to implement it correctly
this but unironically
>there wasn't a good boat movie around
ahem
Unironically Nolan flicks
>Why do you think these movies have such a high budget?
I always thought it was to pay for underage hookers and blow. If Cameron actually spent the money production then he is an absolute fucking mad man.
No, he didn‘t need to.
He wanted to
Cameron has been to the deepest end of the earth and even further. He has seen and fucked species not even known to the world. (The Abyss was based on a true story). You think he cares about some cunny or cheap pot? He has access to dank seaweed that literally glows in the dark. There is not one like him
Yes but NEW FILM BAD
*bonk*
he bought all the tickets
Inception was the last good blockbuster
I'm always down for based Jim thread, especially for Titanic.

The madman actually built a full sized set and sank it.
Admittedly, some of the CGI wide shots of the Titanic in the beginning were absolutely dated and atrocious. The CGI extras looked like a PS2 game.

The scene where Rose and Jack are running from water, their faces are horribly imposed on the stunt doubles. Other than that and minor problems, the effects overall were an amazing combination of practical, miniature, and CGI ahead of its time and still rivals those of today.
>Cameron claims he used the technology he developed for the Terminator films to send Leo, Kate, himself, and other cast and crew back in time to 1912 on the real Titanic in order to capture "the genuine horror and emotions" of the passengers on that fateful night.
I turn into a big blubbering baby when I listen to the score. Am I gay?
>tfw I never found my Rose
Isn't that a good thing?
>Why do you think these movies have such a high budget?
so jews can launder money
