Islam

islam

The copyright on the original Steamboat Willie version of Mickie Mouse will expire in 2024, barring any intervention from Congress.

Islam

Congress will intervene though, they have multiple times

AND WELCOME TO THE JAM

So what? Disney will still punish anyone dumb enough to do anything with it one way or another

Yes but...that logo featured right there? That will still be protected. However, you can be certain the same way you see pink panther shit on the side of every small business owners shit there's gonna be a mickey instead.

Short answer: Yes.

Maybe not.

>implying Disney won’t use anti-Islamic sentiment to market their movies

Disney has literally not done anything wit Mickey since 1954.

who care about fucking mickey? How can you even make money out of it even if it's copyright free?

Mickey is a just a symbole now, commercially it's basically dead

Star Wars Episode 63: The X Men Strike Back

pretty much this
they did some TV cartoons for childs with mickey tho

the independent scene if it even exist
people are going to flock to disney cause they have the nostalgia factor locked
but theyre going to beat that dead horse for decades
sure theyll tweak things here and there but it will be the same shit month after month
netflix can tout themselves as being the independent "studio" where artist can creatively express themselves

excessive greed and further pushing pc and liberal bs.

...

this

They'll definitely do it. Disney has the money to lobby it.

Even DC/warner has a vested interest in a lengthy renewal. Trust you won't hear a fucking word about it and this will be essentially earmarked into some random bill.

I have already completely stopped them. I no longer go to the cinema.

>people are going to flock to disney cause they have the nostalgia factor locked
I feel like they are going to have some significant problems with this aspect of their brand in the coming generations. Boomers and Gen X have nostalgia for their huge library of animated classics, Millennials are nostalgic for the Disney Renaissance period stuff, Zoomers have the MCU and Frozen I guess? Disney just seems utterly incapable of making anything new that is actually memorable these days, they are going to run into a significant problem with the generation that follows Zoomers.

What happens to a company that centers its overall operating strategy around appealing to nostalgia, when they fail to produce anything new that generates nostalgia? Even during the so called "Disney Dark Age" the stuff they were making was still memorable and charming, it just wasn't very financially successful. People still look back fondly on movies like The Aristocats, The Black Cauldron, The Fox and the Hound, Winnie the Pooh. Will anybody in 20+ years look back fondly on anything Disney has put out in the last couple years? The nostalgia feedback loop that powers the entire Disney brand could end up collapsing as a result of this problem. All it takes is one generation deciding to pass on taking their kids to Disneyland/Disneyworld, and the degeneration begins.

ITT: people that don't know the difference between copyright and trademark

Short of congress actually having the balls to use Anti-Trust laws, no. Disney has already paid the lobby bill to make sure that won't happen.

But the decay of time will take them. They've killed Star Wars, Capeshit will be dead after endgame, they've got nothing else in the pipe...

AND STEAMBOAT WILLIE EXPIRES IN 5 YEARS, SOMEONE WILL BUY UP THE MASCOT AND SUE THE FUCK OUT OF THEM.

He's been a main character in Kingdom Hearts for a decade now. He goes around slitting niggas up with a sword shaped like a key

Unironically? Like any empire, when it becomes too big too fast, it turns unmanageable and starts falling apart by itself.

Huehuehehe

Yes. MGM (aka "The Cat"). They're our last hope.

They narrowly dodged it by spinning off Fox News, Broadcasting into a new company which isn't included in the purchase.

buying fox only moved them up a few places on the fortune 500. The few unowned hollywood studios are basically consolidating in a panic because they don't want to get bought by comcast or verizon.

Fuckers can't even get a decent SG1 reboot off the ground, you really think they can take on the mouse reich?

>americans only complain about monopolies when it interferes with their capeshit movies

Not much, they're going to become unavoidable like Nestle.

Why wouldn't Sora use something to defend Kairi instead of just throwing his body in there?

Vote for Elizabeth Warren, the only candidate advocating serious antitrust legislation against the big telecom and tech companies.

Stop buying things made by Disney and its associated companies. Encourage your friends and family to do the same.

no reason to pay for any type of media now. if the mouse owns then pirate.

Only Sneed can save us now.

Regarding series we're gonna have to trust HBO for non flanderized contents I guess.

>The copyright on the original Steamboat Willie version of Mickie Mouse will expire in 2024
Some people think it already has expired, and Disney is just trying to keep the public from finding out. Like that time they "traded" Universal for the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a character who has been in the public domain for about 70 years. Half the battle for Disney is just manipulating people's understand of they own and do not own.

At least they will never take the games industry.

-10 years ago a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These Ecelebs promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as influencers of fortune on youtube. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the GAY-Team.
