Good.
Hollywood shouldn't be allowed to touch vidya.

Too easy to fuck up so no one bothers

Blonkampf could’ve pulled it off.

It's a good thing he didn't since he can't write a good script even if his life depended on it.

Better than the shit Americans call good

Cope more, afrikaner dipshit.

>Blomcunt
He's a shit tier director and vastly overrated, fuck off.

It could be done, but Halo isn't the titan it used to be. Doesn't have the market share and a lot of the normies don't care enough to support it. If it was well written (stick closely to Nylund's books), and Blompkampf or Cameron were involved, it could be 10/10 kino. It would be hard to have a cohesive story a viewer would care about when it comes to a faceless soldier (Master Chief). I think it would be better for the Spartans to be almost supporting or background characters and the story be more ODST/Marine/ONI focused.

Attached: 1355806389032.jpg (1024x904, 550K)

Probably for the best. zero chance that movie would be good in 2019.

He has no business directing or writing.
His only forte is VFX and art direction.
It kinda amazes me how he convinced hollywood to allow him so much leeway and control over the movies he got involved in.

It’s making a comeback

>Blompkampf
>10/10 kino
have sex

at least we got district 9 out of it

>I think it would be better for the Spartans to be almost supporting or background characters and the story be more ODST/Marine/ONI focused.
I don't understand why this fact keeps eluding Hollywood.
A character that works as a protag in video games is not going to have the same impact or desired effect when he's the protag of your 3-act blockbuster film.
Games are usually just power fantasies hence why most Yea Forums protags are overpowered and faceless killing machines.

Hey Janny better delet this Gaylo thread since it's not Yea Forums related just like the Berserk casting thread

We'll get a movie in 10+ years that is terrible, unrelated to original story, features little action scenes, is obnoxiously drama driven with bad characters again unrelated to the original story, and probably some shitty female protagonist

It would be good as long as he isn't allowed to write anything. He's good at making sci-fi look great and seem plausible. Dont' @ me faggot.

There is a live action halo tv series being made right now. They also announced a massive halocon tour event and are getting ready to show a trailer for the new halo game they spent the last 5 years making. A movie will probably happen as the TV show is set in the covenant war.

Yeah I wonder what's putting them off. It's not as if every video game movie in existence bombed (with the exception of RE) and was critically panned.

How do I jump timelines?

Attached: 1536155269797.jpg (1242x808, 36K)

You have to be next to a powerful source of electromagnetic radiation to get unhooked from time like in LOST.

James Wan or Sam Raimi would be good choices to direct a Halo movie.
Yeah, they normally don't do sci-fi, but I trust their overall visions and intent far more than any other director out there when it comes to handling non-Yea Forums source material.

Ridley Scott, James Cameron, Peter Jackson, and others like them are all boomers who are out of touch and cannot be trusted to handle large sci properties anymore.

Have you also noticed that every video game movie that's ever been made has been produced by absolute hacks?

BLOW ME AWAY

Eh they would have fucked it up anyway. This way it remains untarnished.

This is every popular videogame ever from the mid to late 00s
>rips off hollywood film and makes it more generic
>simpletons praise the story since they never saw the film it ripped off
>hollywood sees potential
>makes shitty film that's, at best, a bastardisation of the original film that the game ripped off
In Halo's case, the film is Aliens

How the fuck is Halo anything like Aliens aside from the fact that both franchises have human military called 'marines'?

Is 40k a rip off as well since they have something called 'space marines'?

I think Chris-Chan's working on that literally as we type

I've always hated this picture. Literally why are the scientists all such manlets? Master chief is huge in the games but he's not a literal fairy tale giant.

Just design a protagonist like Sgt. Johnson who is beside the Chief the whole time. He's the Spock to John's Kirk and Johnson's McCoy. Cortana is the Chick and Keyes is the Mentor.

It would work with the Combat Evolved plot. Pull a star wars and drop us into the action just after Reach with some intro exposition. Add the Arbiter as an affable bad guy for his eventual turn later. Introduce the Prophets early as the big bads.

Yes he is. He has been super engineered to grow bigger through the various skeleton implants and hormonal injections and other genetic modifications they undergo. Most kids don’t even survive this process.

Master chief is almost 8 feet tall

I think Bonkclamps movies are shit.
The visuals are top notch but the writing and story always leave so much to be desired. I wish he’d just stick to visuals and let other (read: better) people handle the story.

What?
I thought he was set at 7 ft.

Didn't know he gets bigger and bigger, like a crocodile.

He’s around that, and it makes sense with the picture. You also have to remember he’s wearing a suit there which adds inches of height and girth all around his body. If you imagine a dude cocooned within that, it would be around 7 feet and those scientists would be around 5’8-5’11, which is expected for beta lab boys

The only interesting part is the Spartan training. Chief as protag would be dull because we know he'll survive due to plot armor.

Only the humans' aesthetic and the slight similarity between small flood and facehigger is taken from Aliens. The covenant aesthetic, while the elites' design is inspired by predator, are very original, as are the forerunner aesthetics. The story and tone is nothing like aliens and the world building and lore BTFOs any sci-fi kino of the last 20 years.

>alien invasion
>alien invasion stopped by a while american male
>Halo
>generic
Hmmmmmmmmm

His plot armour is an interesting mix though. It’s half divine intervention and half some kind of quantum anomaly that makes him super lucky (hence being related to the number 7)

So this female marine is 7 feet tall? Reminder that only the games matter, whatever book or wiki out there that lists his height as almost 8 feet is bad fanfic.

Attached: 1470523775_11614609.gif (460x259, 1.89M)

t. knows nothing about the lore

They announced a tv show at the xboners launch a couple of years ago.
Seems like ti will never happen.

>the lore

Attached: 9ba0bdad3ae537803467d9baa7a1f3ef--emma-stone-horn.jpg (736x1104, 119K)

it's generic now, maybe in its heyday it could have worked but now it's too rooted in science fiction tropes to work as well as it could have

a damn shame really

I remember elites being around 8 feet tall and they always towered over chief, so he'd be around 7 ft

chief is 6'10 without the suit and 7'2 with it and he weights 300lbs without the suit and 1000lbs in it.

>ODST/Marine/ONI focused.
I'd have to agree, faceless main characters are good for videogames but harder to pull off for movies we're the MC should feel human

The appeal of Halo is that it's basically a reverse Star Trek.

Star Trek is about humanity uniting different alien civilizations together, all under the banner of progress, enlightenment, and scientific intrigue.

Halo is about cuntish aliens uniting together to exterminate humanity and humanity going to dark places to save themselves. It's a really cool underdog premise.

Modern Halo is bad for the same reason why the modern Alien movies are bad. Humanity is too important and central to everything now, being shoehorned into muh prophecies and muh destinies and shit.

the books are better than the games

No, stop.

Video game movies are never good

even better, that when the covenant attacked humanity was already locked in constant war between various planets and factions, and it was only the covenant's arrival that finally united them, pure kino

The first Resident Evil movie is unironically serviceable and okay.

Nylund just ripped off Ender's Game desu

I'd rather see an adaptation of Enders gane

Can you recommend which books to pick up? I played the first 3 games and ODST and stopped playing video games halfway through Reach. The mysteries surrounding the Forerunners were intriguing

So the picture is still completely wrong?

Ender's Game joins Game of Thrones as western media that can only be given proper justice through an anime adaptation
Not even a weeb. But western media refuses to properly portray children being abused and murdering people

Halo is so fucking generic. I'm not saying it's not a fun game but the design of it is so boring i don't get the appeal at all

Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike are fantastic, they go from the very beginnings of the SPARTAN program to how Chief got back to Earth, with The Flood revolving entirely around the first game, which may sound pointless but I really thought it was fantastic. The only other one I've read was Ghosts of Onyx which was also pretty good, but I'd start with the first ones before getting into the later ones.

Game of Thrones has a kid being burned alive.

thanks bruh. video games are a chore to me nowadays

A movie that tries to be based off of any of the games would be bad. Master Chief makes a great video get protag but not a movie protag. He would serve better as a plot device like a mcguffin or a supporting character.

Story should follow marines who are hopeless and expect the shit. Think Saving Private Ryan kind of tone. On a mission to either back up the chief (using him as a mcguffin) or even better a shit-mission (just like S.P.R.) where chief bails them out at the end.

The movie could be a moment in time that has no bearing on Cannon, and doesn't try to rewrite the already overly complex established cannon.

this would be good set within the events of one of the games, like the battles going on at Earth or something, with the Chief only appearing briefly as a kind of mythological legend and continuing on on the story we know he goes on while the focus stays with the marines or ODST or whatever

That's literally nothing compared to what happens in the books though

We literally just had an Ender's Game adaptation called Ender's Game. It was a garbage adaptation too. Also Ender's Game used to be one of my favorite books and I fail to see how Nylund ripped it off. They're completely different from each other other than the child soldier plot.

the stuff in Ender's Game is wasted on Ender's Game, Nylund put it to use and did it better

Ghosts of Onyx was the first one I read and fucking loved it, went back and read all the Nylund materiel and really enjoyed it. There was another collection of short stories called Halo:Evolutions I think and most of the stuff in there is really good, Midnight on the Midlothian and Dirt are two standouts.

we're going home, bros

Will we ever get kino of this caliber?

youtube.com/watch?v=XRMUYpH7bQk

They did Foreward Unto Dawn which was incredibly lame. I hate when we're supposed to think fucking trainees are capable

I decided long ago that the only type of Halo movie I'd appreciate is one that follows a platoon or company of ODSTs as they try and first recapture a city, succeed, and then face a massive counter attack. It'd basically be Black Hawk Down with ODSTs until at the very end when a Spartan team would show up and then it'd go full Jin-Roh. Final scene would be the main Covenant fleet warping in above the planet to start glassing it with some very somber music continuing into the credits where it shows little vignettes of the human struggle across our planets.

Never have a Spartan serve as the main character. A movie about ONI nonsense and UNSC politics could be kind of cool as well. The thing with the Halo universe is that it is so broad that you could fit any kind of story you wanted into it. You could have a political thriller set at the very start of the conflict where different UN departments and intelligence groups are vying for power and are trying to spin the fall of Harvest even though none of them know what is going on. You could have love stories beset by the tragedy of alien invasion, and you could have countless war films of different styles.

Halo 4 and 5 exist

You now remember the audio drama kino that was Hunt the Truth

How can he be American when he wasn’t born on Earth?

The Cole Protocol is also Halokino. The Halo books made an effort to go back along Captain Keyes's career and make him this super awesome captain that would really be missed, and did a much better job of it that was done to, say, Boba Fett.

Attached: Keyes_Loop.jpg (1335x1765, 345K)

The material that Bungie put out to promote its games, I would legit spend money on to view and own. It's also one of the few things that 343 was just as good at.

you guys are all missing the most important part, that's probably not master chief. he isn't the biggest spartan, I remember Fred or Will being bigger from the get-go and the augmentation only amplified their predisposition for growth. either way there's no indication that the spartan in the picture is chief.

There was that reach short film that came out on netflix. It was really good. Fuck all you retards who didnt see it

The japs like both Halo and Gears for some reason.

A movie about ODSTs evacuating civilians during the Glassing of Reach would be a better story than Master chief stuttering trying to act like a character and not the empty shell vidya gamers know him as.

>the japs like both Halo and Gears

The Fall Of Reach would be an excellent movie. The entire universe, including the Spartans are so interesting. The books by Eric Nylund do a great job giving the soulless video game character a real backstory.

>Untarnished

is this unintentional surrealist kino?

God dayum seeing this written out is cool as fuck. Imagine seeing that done on a big screen.

But it’s also unfortunately the timeline where Hillary won

How do I get into Halo lads? Get a decent Graphics Card and buy the PC MC Collection?

That's one way to do it, if you are somewhat sure you'll like it.
I wasn't, so I got the old PC port of Combat Evolved to try it out first. And actually, after 20 minutes I was mostly sure it's not my kind of game. I spent that 20 minutes mindlessly shooting at the same 3 kinds of enemies, first running through linear corridors, then running through a very nice but empty field, then running circles around a monolith or something.

There is only so much patience I have for shooting hundreds of the exact same shit.

Who plays Halo Custom Edition here? That's when I realized Halo isn't coming back to PC until now

Buy the original Xbox and play the first Halo:CE with 3 other friends for a week doing LAN parties where you pretend to have houses on the map in Blood Gulch and just sort of roleplay.

He's resting. Just wake him when you need him

There was a time I was really into Halo. One of my earliest memories was walking into a Video-Game/Phone/Tech shop on a sunny day, and seeing a poster for Combat Evolved. Halo 2 was one of the first games I pirated, and Halo 3 was the only time I felt the meaning of the word "hype". I played ODST and Reach too, read some comics, bought the figures. It's just that it feels as if it was a lifetime ago, and the only thing that remains is a faint memory. So I figured I'd try to get into it again. I mean, I remember the first time the rumors of a Halo movie broke out, and for a while I thought that 7-minute or so promotional vid was leaked footage from filming.

I don't know, maybe I'm just trying to recapture a period of my life that I look back on nostalgically.
Not possible, I'm afraid.

>Not possible, I'm afraid.
Then you're missing a key part of what Halo represents: a bygone era where you spent all-nighters with frens and you ordered pizza and laughed at some bullshit derelict sticky grenade fucking up your team's offensive and just a more innocent time.

Yeah, well, we can't all experience everything. I was a Playstation & Nintendo kid, I only bought a 360 for Halo 3.

Wasn't Keyes the first commander to score a victory against the Covenant in a space battle?

doesn't it already have two?
one anime and one with girl from chronicles of narnia in it?

do you mean specifically the combat evolved story?

I will always remember reach

Halo had the best chance of being a good movie because the lore is pretty film-friendly - as opposed to the adaptations that actually happened, like Doom and Street Fighter. Blomkamp was the best choice for it, shame that never happened. Don't know why they're bothering with a TV series now the series is on life support

And all the "antagonists" look like Saturday morning cartoons. Plus the final boss in Halo 3 (FINISH THE FIGHT) is literally just a floating metal sphere

Idris Elba unmasked the entire time

Just make sure to time your jump with the grenade blast user

As someone else said should be gritty and revolves around the Marines and there futile attempt defending Reach

We've had two live-action TV series and both were laughably bad. What makes you think a movie would be any better? IMO the best route to go down is a well-funded anime adaptation. Legends wasn't half bad (certainly leagues ahead of shite like FUD), imagine how good a second season with the animation quality of Your Name could be. Focus on characters like Buck and Sgt Johnson and you have a winning formula.

>'gritty' atmosphere
>yet another rehash of Reach

John-117 was never the largest, strongest, smartest or fastest SPARTAN.

He was the one who was the most natural leader and by far the luckiest.

Fred and Will are my two favorite SPARTANs besides the Chief. Noble Six and Emile are pretty based too.

The Fall of Reach is easily my favorite pulp sci-fi book of all time. It's fun yet smart enough to add depth where the game's severely lack.

It helps that Nylund is a good writer and all novels after Onyx that weren't written by him not named Greg Bear are sorely lacking.

4 is meh. 5 is better but still not the same.

I will posit til the day I die that Halo: Reach is the best, most balanced console multiplayer FPS I have ever played.

The best way to make a Halo series is to bit focus on Chief. Have it focus on Kurt, and give him flashbacks to his training alongside Chirf.

Are you joking?

Hollywood does that literally all the time. Be it adaptations or sequels.

>retreading areas of canon that we've already seen a million times over

Nah, give us more postwar stuff. I wanna see what the Outer Colonies are like now they're full of ex-Covenant species. Hunt The Truth had the right idea.

This is all correct.

People who hate Halo or think it's generic have only played the games. The worldbuilding over the last 20 years is unrivaled. It sucks 343 kinda ruined the lore with 4 and 5, but Infinite might make it kino again.

Out of his armor, he's around 6'6" and over 300 lbs (his bones and muscle fibers are super-dense) of pure muscle.

In it he's 7' and half a ton. He's also neither the strongest nor the tallest SPARTAN.

Best Halo movie would be about ODST with a short but epic Spartan 2 scene.

You act as if only Halo fans would be seeing the film. I'm saying take the best story that's already established, that isn't from one of the games, and turn it into a gritty film that people who don't quite know about Halo can even enjoy. Plus, giving us teases of the Spartan II training program, while showing us the Spartan III training, would give us a much more dramatic film due to the nature of the Spartan III's themselves and the fact that they're created simply to be used once.

No, that would be Fleet Admiral Preston Cole, whose name is given to the Cole Protocol of randomly jumping to avoid giving the Covenant Slippage coordinates to any of the UNSC's Inner Colonies and especially Earth.

Cole retook Harvest but it was a Pyrrhic victory as he lost 5:1 ships compared to the Covenant's.

Are there really people like this out there? People who pay absolutely zero attention to all the media that they consume?

The original trilogy was better than a movie could be.

I'm thinkning some sort of mini-series or GoT-level show would be the only way to go about making some good Halo content. Doing a movie wouldn't work if they couldn't make all 3.

Not that I think Halo should be touched by Hollywood in the first place

Armor Lock is easily worked around. Only retards didn't have the wherewithal to wait 2 seconds throw a grenade at their feet and collect free kills.

Bloom on the DMR helped balance the weapon as a viable in-between between the hitscan xXx MLG PRO xXx Battle Rifle and the sniper.

Both were fine and only esports babbies and shitters complained about it.

Yeah, but it will never reach the same cultural heights that it did during its peak. Microsoft and 343 have done far too much damage to the series at this point.

Microsoft announced hi-def remasters and re-releases of ALL the main Halo games up to Reach being released on on Steam throughout the next few years.

It's just an accuracy penalty (the reticle "blooms" outwards) with certain weapons when you fire them too quickly, like in Counter-Strike.

It takes from sci-fi in general but it rolls with it well and is very consistent and polished in its presentation, with minimal retcons.

Oh, okay. I thought you guys meant actual bloom that makes everything look like fucking aids.

Yes, and it was fun.

Although it did favor the defenders slightly if my memory serves.

Play Halo Combat Evolved on PC, you don't need the remaster edition even if it does a fine job. The art style of the old version is better and the atmosphere is intact. Halo 2 afterwards. Halo 3 is all you'll need from the collection.

>I think it would be better for the Spartans to be almost supporting or background characters and the story be more ODST/Marine/ONI focused

100% agree with this. Always thought that if a Halo movie were to ever be made main character needs to be a marine or ODST. Spartans are discussed and hinted in movie and final act have them show up and save the day. If a movie about the Spartans must be made main character should be Frederick or another spartan whose face we see and Chief is background character who we never see the face

You're literally retarded. A commercial isn't a movie.

I said make the trailers from the game into a movie trailer and show them to a huge audience retard

So something like Halo Wars
youtu.be/ZLlhh2hotK4

>>>>>including advanced space travel, advanced armor, advanced weaponry even tho they prefer to fight with melee weapon's for reasons of honor and tradition
>in the movies they literally are "UNGA BUNGA ME ALIEN BAD ME KILL SPACENIGGERS"
>in most recent ones its "UNGA BUNGA ME ALIEN SPACENIGGER, ME DROP BIOWEAPON AND WRECK HOMEPLANET"
fucking retard are you
aliens from alien = flood from halo

>Cameron's Halo Cinematic Universe smothered the life out of capeshit before it had a chance to fester
please.....no

Attached: missing_in_action.png (664x793, 60K)

I haven't actually seen predator lol I just copypasted that from somewhere
who the fuck watches movies?
But I did say that flood parasite is like the alien facehugger

Why show a trailer for something that isn't going to be for the movie?
You're literally saying "show them trailers for games that came out 10 years ago, which already played in front of movies"
Again, you're retarded.

It was literally unplayable for Elites if the Spartans were even remotely decent. Reach's weaponry favored humans to such a degree that any claim to Reach being balanced is just straight up retarded. Let's also not forget that even scoring headshots on the sniper was easier because the hitboxes were trash. The only friend on my group that likes Reach also happens to be the worst player at all the other Halos

Cole's "death" was pretty badass by making the sun go Supernova to destroy a covanent superfleet

Good fucking DnD where assigned to it

Yes but I would try to give them little to no dialogue and I would exclude all that ninja back flipping shit. I would make them do super human feats but in a more grounded way

>Ripping off the minigun from destroyed warthog
>Tackling and beating the shit out of Elite

I'd really drive home the idea that Spartans come off as these mythological walking tanks and they don't even seem human

Attached: mjolnir_mk_v__an_artistic_rebuttal_by_tekka_croe-d9sbyew.png (977x817, 522K)

FUD probably had a limited budget, it wasn't good, but it wasn't horrible either.

At least it showed us that a "practical" Spartan could be done

They should introduce them with security cameras footage or a group of ODST walking on a few butchered Elites and they don't know WTF is going on

Just do it anyway

Halo movie prime window was 2005-2009. They missed the window

is it not painfully obvious that:
>the marines are lifted from aliens
>the covenant are lifted from predator
>the flood are lifted from the thing

>all the idiots itt saying that a Halo movie shouldn't have the Chief.

Marketing genius over here

Attached: 1505879896669s.jpg (221x250, 5K)

Just make a teaser for a halo movie and play it where a majority of people will be. My question is what studio would do it. Hopefully not the mouse

who cares, halo 2 is the only game that could make a decent halo movie and anniversary already looks like a film.

Attached: maxresdefault (2).jpg (1280x720, 75K)

You have to actually make a movie you retard. You can't just make a teaser and call it a day.
If that's all the input you have, fuck off

we had an anime anthology tho

Do you not see where it says movie?

>anniversary already looks like a film.
The only good thing 343 did was redo those cinematics in house and with the dot suits for added realism
watch the cutscenes in 4k 60fps, you won't regret it

Attached: BLACKED_team.png (592x898, 904K)

I didn't know Bear did any of the Halo novels. Maybe I'll pick some up

Pretty much this. The best time to make a Halo movie was before 2014 when it felt like Halo was still relevant. It would need A LOT of marketing in order to get people interested in another Halo property after what 343 has done to the franchise. It's why people are far more hyped for the MCC finally making it to PC than Halo Infinite.

we got District 9 with the Halo movie budget and unused props

>in house
didn't Blur Studio make them? I doubt 343 could make such cinematics or would waste their own time on it.

They should do something in the style of the "Believe" trailer.

youtube.com/watch?v=3rridXskgWg

People are saying he should be an extremely important supporting character. A faceless, nearly silent protagonist works for vidya, but not for film.

He wrote the Forerunner Trilogy, which are the best Halo novels since Ghosts of Onyx. They give even more backstory to the new trilogy and show how ancient humanity 100,000 years ago actually were just as technologically advanced as the Forerunners and had a war with them while dealing with the Flood, until the Forerunners won.

this.
Halo 1 would be difficult to do, halo 2 actually has a plot

The Halo 3 ad campaign is still one of the best I've ever seen.

Yeah, it was Blur, no 343.

True, unironic kino

For a movie, you can easily mesh 1 and 2 together since they're basically re-dos of each other. So two movies, maybe three if you want to add a bit of Reach in.

But John talks in the books. I don't see why he can't talk in a movie. What I really want is a proper Reach movie, not what we got in the game.

I think people ITT are right with the idea that the Spartans - John in particular - should be some kind of third act near-Deus Ex Mechina. Our non-Spartan protagonists are at the end of their rope, overrun and outgunned. That there are Spartans coming to help their little outpost is rumored or whispered or debated throughout the film, until it actually happens at the end. The Spartans are like mythological heroes as they descend to the field and do what they have to do to save the day.

I like the idea that the protags are a group of ODSTs who witness the Spartans being groomed as children, one of them being killed in a sparring session with 13 year old John-117, and don't put two and two together until they're saved by Chief at the end.

Fall of Reach would be god-tier kino if done right. Same with The Flood. Those books have no right being that good.

Did you believe?

Halo 3 was the first Halo game I played, and I like to think that seeing that commercial helped push me towards playing the game.

It would be more interesting to have a Warhammer 40k movie where Space Marines fight Chaos Space Marines

Attached: Chaos-space-marines-codex-review02.jpg (800x464, 101K)

This is the correct way to do it, nobody gives a fuck about random ODST's for a movie. Just convert the game's plot like this.

I just feel bad for Geoff

Halo is more a rip off of Starcraft, it started it's life as a 3D RTS that was a supposed Starcraft killer
Protoss Zealots & Elites are exactly the same, even down to the shield regen mechanic, Flood is the Zerg & Cortana is the Female Adjutant Ai in a more personalised form

Of course both rip off Aliens & 40K so whatever

Some guy on YouTube was making something
youtu.be/g-MteECxZUY

StarCraft is a rip off of 40k. Protoss are Eldar, Terrans are the Imperium, and the Zerg are Tyranids.

Would it have been good in 2009, though? 2009 was still during a very popular period of time for the Halo series, although this decade is the one during which the decline seems to have started, as Halo dominated the 2000s.

Marty's soundtrack for the entire series from CE to Reach is among the best in videogames.

Its advanced composition allows the wearer to survive hits from firepower that could penetrate even the armour of a tank, and it is the heaviest combat armour in any Imperial arsenal, able to withstand tremendous punishment. Offensively, it provides the strength to maintain mobility while serving as a solid heavy-weapons platform in open-field combat.

REMEMBER THIS?

Says the Warhammer 40k fag

The sweet spot for releasing a halo movie has passed. The crazy levels of hype that existed for halos 2-reach just don't exist for the new games and it's not in the public's eye nearly as much as it used to be. I would love for some halo kino but even if it happened I can't help but feel it would essentially be a movie made for an audience that existed 10 years ago. Let's just let the MCC be the swan song of the franchise and put it on ice for a few years.

Attached: 1494119768756.jpg (255x246, 12K)

I love and was good at all the other games.

The only weapon that didn't have a niche specified use in Reach and was just a reskin of a human weapon but worse was the Covenant Storm Rifle. Every other weapon was perfectly balanced.

I agree that Spartans were favored in the Shipyard level. Still, I don't recall ever playing it and feeling annoyed.

I wish they would show more of the naval space engagements because I loved reading them.

How is the series going to work anyway?

Isn't Master Chief the blandest of bland Gruff McSpaceMarines who never even shows his face? Is hologram waifu going to carry the entire story?

Agreed.

A mixture of incredible surgical precision and overwhelming force.

one or two hits with the Bolter gun and your puny little Spartan is done for

Besides they have Assault Squads who are more mobile

Cameron ghost directed would be kino

I was 13

Why make a film when video games are a superior art form? The trilogy could never be represented better in film.

if you thought 4 and 5 were terrible i guarantee that is nothing compared to what a fucking halo movie would have been

>>>>one or two hits with the Bolter gun and your puny little Spartan is done for
>doesn’t know that brutes have similar weapons

It boggles the mind how bad the decisions 343 and nu-Bungie have made.

At least 343i seems to be sincerely trying to rectify fans' concerns.

If Warcraft can make a cgi movie then so can halo. Fuck live action anything. Go straight avatar

>We will never get a marines vs flood on abandoned ship horror kino with MC showing up to save the day in the climax

I didn't know what warhammer really was until I started hanging out here. Dorks in denial still clinging to it for decades shows its potency, but I guess we'll see how long halofags last.

fund it

Your Virgin Spartan depends on his power armor, a Space Marine was genetically designed to survive hits that would normally kill a human

warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Gene-Seed

I'd rather have the marines think they are saved but really it is elites and they are about to get glassed.

Attached: 1552520841407.png (440x495, 300K)

>Virgin Spartan
Your Space Marines are virgins too. Not counting space yiffs.

I never owned an Xbox so everything I know about Halo is second hand, did it ever actually have any legitimately good narrative or was it just loved so much because it was basically the first console FPS series not to be awkwardly controlled turds?

I honestly can't remember anyone ever trying to sell me on it's story other than Reach, and isn't that one a prequel/sidestory with none of major characters in it?

>everyone praises them.

and even the trailer uses the same sound bite of his voice over a black screen so all the fan boys get hype

The novels run the gamut from shit (Traviss' crap) to actual kino (Nylund's books).

There are a lot of really good expanded universe stuff in the novels, comics and even the anime anthology has its merits.

That developer commentary and the one for 2 is so comfy

Shame everyone sat on halo projects too long and the general public just forgot about it.
The buzz from 00-10 was insane then as soon as 4 and 5 came out it killed the franchise

The Cole Protocol was the last novel I read that was even remotely good.

I've always said that if there was a halo movie, I'd want it to be in the tone and style of Reach's cutscenes. Pure, unfettered kino there.
