When did star wars become shit?
When did star wars become shit?
Either ROTJ or the prequels
Caravan of Courage
unironically the best movie in the entire franchise
The 2nd one
when they decided to kill off all the characters we knew and loved so they could go on their "strong wahmen" and diversity in film arc trying to score virtue points in our ever softening media landscape.
Did you not watch the movie?
1997 when the SE came out
That's unironically a laughing stock of a statement and means the franchise is the worst thing ever
This i guess
When it introduced Ewoks.
It is. A rebel alliance squaring off against an evil empire absent of overarching themes or higher concepts? It was junk food entertainment from the start, proto-capeshit if you will.
>the movie
>star wars
>baiting this hard
please dude
Right here.
Technically that's when it started to turn, but it wasn't utter, embarrassing shit until probably Ep. 2.
when disney bought the IP and started creating fanfic any other answer is objectively wrong (unless you're an eufag in which case you'll probably say april 25th 2014)
all disney films are worthless
Even you can't admit there was one movie better than caravan of courage?
Objectively the answer is when the first EU book came out and the franchise became more than a fun moviegoer's event.
Maybe The Last Jedi, but it didn't even feel like a Star Wars film. It could have easily been about the last remnants of any other fantasy cult.
>all disney films are worthless
Does this include fox films now?
No, it only includes films created UNDER disney, not pre-disney purchase
so Ridley Scott Alien 1979 and Lucas Wars gets a free pass
Well at least you're based enough to know the last jedi was better than all the other star wars films.
For me it's revenge of the sith and the last jedi
Disney has had about 3-5 good films, including The Last Jedi
what are the 4?
When Gary Kurtz and Lucas fell out. Lucas hates making films, he just likes making money, and felt that Kurtz was putting way too much meaning into something that would make just as much cash without it. George knows that your average moviegoer is fine with lasers, explosions and FX and that merchandising is everything so he pushed out Kurtz, and got a director he could shadow-direct for ROTJ.
When you really think about it, George is the cause of everything wrong with cinema these days
return of the jedi
Four that you don't like probably
During the prequels. Yeah, yeah, they are better than the sequel trilogy and there are a few good moments here and there but unfortunately, they really are not good movies.
As retarded as the EU could be, it was never something where you HAD to read everything, there was more than enough stories to choose from. The movies not so much. It would actually be great if they did more standalone movies but with Disney at helm, it's never going to happen.
I don't care I'm not even gonna stick around for long I was just curous since you mentioned TLJ
Why dosen't Rey walk around naked?
Immediately after TLJ is when everyone gave up. They got rid of plot points from both Lucas trilogies and TFA and disparage one of the core protagonist of the series. Even if you can ignore the obnoxious political undertones disparaging men and religion, Ruin destroyed any interesting hooks for episode IX and despite being told this LF still chose to dismiss and attack the fans. Retcons got us to this point and can potentially get us out with some sloppy writing, but its really hard to invest feeling and emotion once we got to this point.
imagine eating out her sweaty asshole right then and there
Since 2012
In the Prequels Star Wars was at its peak
Millions of comics, novels and videogames all with decent good quality there was passion for the saga
But since TFA Disney ruined the saga in the point of no return
Star Wars like Marvel will now be a saga for Basedboys, SJWS and Trans
only redpilled post itt
>comics, novels and videogames all with decent good quality
only soibois dislike rotj and prequels
I didn't even have any in mind, only I can think of enjoying in theaters are the pirates trilogy or the first two specifically and beauty and the beast
Sorry pal, you're no better than the comic book nerds who obsess over the Marvel muliverse.
rotj is objectively a step down in quality from both a new hope and empire strikes back and was pretty shitty throughout with a good ending.
There's also Fantasia, The Lion King, princess movies bore me but I'm sure one of them counts as good, also the entire Pixar library if they count.
>redpilled
opinion discarded for being a Yea Forums npc
I am actually
Batman and Iron Man/Captain America are mainstream and boring, Aayla Secura and Quinlan Vos are cool, sexy and underground and causes normies to repel in confusion
Star Wars celebration is going to be so awkward with all the bitter tension in the fandom.
Vos and Secura were already canonized in The Clone Wars. You can't escape your normie plebitude now.
Halfway of ROTJ
November 7th, 1999
hahaha
ROTJ introducing wookies out of the blue when also introducing the Emperor like 5 minutes afterwards
that movie was all over the place
Sequelitis.
"Star Wars" is still fantastic. Just don't watch any of the other fucking shit.
that's cool, but the EU is not Star Wars, it's generic wannabe sci fi with the Star Wars brand name on it.
this
Star Wars: A New Hope
Yeah I'm sure a bunch of bitter incels on the internet crying that star wars is DEAD really bought every single ticket
I'm sure the convention celebrating Star Wars will just be full of people who hate Star Wars
After Episode III.
Maybe they should kiss just to break the tension
explain how ESB is bad
Will a Jabba Deslijic Tiure prop be at Celebration?
>Vos and Secura were already canonized in The Clone Wars.
Aayla was already canonized in Attack of the Clones. Vos was canonized in Revenge of the Sith (and as a result, also indirectly canonized in TPM)
get your facts straight, TCW normalfag babbie soiboi
>still hating on the Ewoks
They were going to have the heroes for dinner until they mistook the fagdroid as some kind of Sun God and Leia's buddy told them what was going on. Fucking pay attention to what you watch, retards.
Stop REEEing at shit because it doesn't pander to (You).
>Han Solo is a main character in the film for no particular reason and the entire Cloud City arc is narratively pointless
>Darth Vader's entire existence as a teleporting plot device instead of a character
>THREE YEARS
>Luke completely abandons the Rebellion
Some of the major points that come to mind. Nothing about the events or how they play out feels natural except the escape from Hoth, which leads directly into nonsense.
>When did star wars become shit?
The first one was basically a cowboy movie set in outer space, and it was fun.
After that one it got progressively worse.
Jabba the Hutt is cool.
And remember that Based Lucas wanted Darth Talon to become canon
First he wanted to use it in Darth Maul's video game then as an antagonist in Episode VII
The second Disney decided to give the new trilogy to a shameless kike instead of Villeneuve
holy autism
>that's cool, but the EU is not Star Wars
Neither are Disney films
the EU at least had the priviledge of being created under Lucas reign (the idea of one continuity through books & comics came from Lucas in the 90s and this separated the star wars EU from other licensed tie-in fiction such as generic star trek novels)
like it or not, the EU inadvertently became a corner stone of the star wars experience for all current 25-40 year olds even if it is by and large a separate canon that merely include the events of the movies.
Back in your coffin Gary
after the credits of rotj
In 1983 before ROTJ came out, it was all you heard about on TV. Everyone wanted to see it. All people talked about was if DV was Luke's father, was Han going to be rescued, where did they take him etc. The whole country was itching to see the conclusion. It doesn't feel anywhere close to that now. No one seems to care.
How is that when it went to shit though wasn't ROTJ successful?
it was never good.
It obviously went to shit when TLJ came out. Once people got over the "yay the melenium falcon is back" bullshit people began to realize they were sold an SJW repackage of ANH. The prequels weren't as good as people expected them to be but you could tell they were made by people who loved the SW universe. The sequels feel like they were made by people who have nothing but contempt for Lucas and the fans. I'm not one of those fags that cries about "raping my childhood", I grew out of caring about Star Wars a long time ago but it's really a shame that Disney didn't take the opportunity to really make a sequel trilogy that could generate new fans and excite the people who grew up with the OT.
muh essy jay double (You)s
have sex
>When did Star Wars stop being just a space drama series?
When Lucas chose to do Ewoks instead of Wookies.
>When did Star Wars become a product?
1997 Special Editions.
>When did Star Wars become movies for children and story written for children consumption?
When Lucas stamped his script for Phantom Menace
>When did Star Wars become a product curtailed for non-traditional Star Wars fans (women) in the assumption that Star Wars fans (gullible males) would eat anything branded the Star Wars logo?
When Disney bought it.
Daily reminder that Jenny Nicholson is the target audience of these push-pull, paperback romance tier films and a large portion of you shower her with praise and love while a marketing machine continuously makes fun of you.
Well, it was nice trying to converse with you.
>you could tell they were made by people who loved the SW universe
You could tell they were made by George Lucas. Who, while a pretty shitty storywriter and even worse dialogue writer, is a great toymaker and toysalesman. And that's what Star Wars was mainly about. Cool stuff happening in cool surroundings with cool toys accompanied by great soundtrack. So the spirit of Star Wars was still there even if the execution was lacking in other departments.
the second you see hayden in ep2 its all downhill.
...
I don't like sex. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere
The only time sex is coarse and rough for me is when I fuck my gf in the ass dry and it feels amazing
Don't worry, trancel. I already have kids.
Have suicide.
Enjoy your coin flip suicide rate. Don't forget to clean up your axe wound and dilate.
1999
Return of the Jedi. TLJ was a step in the right direction, but Solo is unfortunately a shit show.
>In the Prequels Star Wars was at its peak
I hate sand
haha imagine rey being pregnant and holding hands with finn and looking into his eyes deeply saying "thank you, finn, for giving me your seed, i shall cherish it always"
haha that would be pretty funny dont you think?
I'm submitting my screenplay for the next trilogy, wish me luck Yea Forums!

Lmao keep seething virgin. You assuming I'm a discord tranny boogeyman says more about you than me
Yuup
What?
>When did star wars become shit?
It started in 1983. It was codified in 1999.
>When did star wars become shit?
December 15, 2017
At least TFA had potential to work off of
When the Phantom Menace came out.
>story about the archetypal father, hero and wise man
>inject feminism into it
>???
>profit!
>Implying TLJ is worse than the prequels, RO, RotJ, and TFA
