Hi, I posted the other day about how I have really bad social anxiety, but I really wanted to see Alita on the big screen, so I was going to go today, even though I'm terrified of going to the movies alone.
I was literally in a cold sweat when I went to the ticket counter. I wanted so bad just to run away and forget the whole thing, especially when I saw that the cashier was a girl.
But somehow I got myself up there and asked for my ticket.
"Oh, have you seen it yet?" She asked. I wasn't expecting a conversation so I just shook my head.
"You're going to love it! It's sooo good!"
I don't know why, but all the sudden I just started spilling my guts about my fears and anxieties and everything, about how I felt stupid going to a movie by myself and all that. I could not stop the words from coming out, even though I tried. I knew I was making a fool out of myself and I expected her to give me that disgusted look that girls usually give when I talk to them.
But she didn't. She was smiling, but in a good way. She said that seeing movies by yourself is awesome. She even said that she used to be afraid to do it too and that she was proud I overcame my fear.
We probably talked for like 5 minutes. But honestly I couldn't tell you how long it really was. I was just amazed that I was having a conversation with a total stranger!
The movie of course was great. There was only a couple of other people there and it was nice not having a bunch of people talking and stuff.
On the way out, I saw her again across the lobby. "Was it good?" She called out. I told her I loved it.
"See? I told you! You better come back and see it again!" I said I would.
I got out to my car and cried, literally cried. Not because I was sad, but because I was still emotional from The movie and because I had gone and done a very scary thing and it had turned out great.

Well bros last saturday I finally went and saw this movie to see what all the hubbub was. I gotta say, I was really impressed. I had good hopes considering it bombed with reviewers but had a high audience score, usually that means it might actually be good, but I think it was actually really fucking kino. Really emotional, more than I expected, and the fight scenes were fun too. They really rode that line of being cheesy but not cringe (like Marvel). Reminded me of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man in a way. It has a great mix of serious moments, fun moments, cheesy moments, and it never gets gay and quippy like Marvel movies. I really hope they don't fuck the sequel up.

I give Yea Forums credit. i was never planning on watching the film, but the constant /alita/ threads made me go out and see it.
First off, im glad i saw it.
I think there were enough entertaining moments in the film to warrant watch. I think the height of the movie for me were all the interactions between alita and her father, and finding out about the hunters for the first time.
I think this movie works best as a father and cyborg daughter film. Thats were i got most my entertainment
The main villain of the movie, i liked how it was hidden, and doesnt straight up say whats going on. But at the same time, there was a little bit too much not explained. when alita killed the black man i was more feeling like

Unlike the other cyborg skeletons which are all very stark and industrial, hers looks like something da Vinci would've designed had cybernetics been around. I worked a Misfits show and the singer (not Danzig, he was long gone) had quit the night before in Orlando.
The show went on and turned into a karaoke night, with audience members invited on stage to sing the songs. It was surreal.
I never really liked The Misfits (too rockish and commercial) but I did work for them doing concert production, though.
