Does America have a problem with bullying? In every teen movie Hollywood makes there are bullies just being cartoonishly evil. It's been like this for decades too. Does anyone here have RL experience with it? As a yuropean it's always seemed weird and tacky to me. I'm an ugly nerd and a weirdo and yet I was never bullied in any of the public schools I went to, or seen that kind of violence going on.

Bully isn’t something that necessarily goes away when problem get older. Hell, I’m ashamed to say that as a 25 year old I experienced school yard bullying from another 25 year old. I didn’t even realize I was being targeted until the truth got exposed. This guy would be nice and respectful to my face and then completely cut me down behind my back to other people. It was a game to him, that was the only reason he wanted to be around me, was to observe me and my life and then be hyper critical of me to other people. The way I figured out he was actually being a secretive pos bully was by him aggressively texting and calling me one day insisting we hangout. I was busy at the time on a hike so I didn’t answer. 2 hours later after my hike I check my phone and I had tons of missed texts and calls from him and he’s getting pissy with me and accusing me of ignoring him because I didn’t respond to him immediately. It kinda pissed me off so I told him to back off with texting and calling me so much, and I said that if I didn’t respond to his calls or texts it would be because I’m genuinely busy and not ignoring him. His colours started to show as he continued to be pissy with me. This led to an argument thru text which led to me asking him to meet me in person so we can address this feeble drama and resolve it. he interrupted my offer as a threat, as if I was challenging him to meet me in person for a fight or something, I didn’t realize this. We both met in person later that night and the dude was waiting for me at our meeting spot visibly agitated and disturbed. I pulled up to him in my vehicle inviting to take him for a drive and he hit my vehicle twice, denting it, and then sucker punched me thru the window twice. Long story short, I called the police on him, and his true cowardly colours were exposed as I threatened to charge him and end his pathetic life. Haven’t seen his face in over a year now.

Bullying happens all the time in America. There's a very strong culture here of taking care of yourself and only reporting things or "getting in trouble" if you strictly violate the letter of the law, so some people with issues will push you around to the limit of their ability.
It continues into adulthood even. You have grown ass men who will harass you "just as a joke haha lighten up", women who will keep being catty bitches late into their 40s, nobody learns their lesson or how to be civil because they're never punished for this kind of behavior or they just invent ways to rationalize it.

The football lads tripped me up once at the start of high school and I cried but they apologized immediately, teacher didn't come over or anything. Ended up having good banter with them.
