once people like something they don’t know how to stop liking it. stranger things season 1 became apart of their self-image, it was like it was their own magnum opus. the accolades it received felt like their accolades. to admit season 2 was shitty and gay would require a level of self-reflection they’ve sought to avoid their entire lives.
never wanted to watch this show. all my friends were jerking each other off about it and assumed (since i grew up in the 80's) that i watched it. nope. it felt like they were gonna jump and beat me, just because i had zero desire to see it. it wasn't until season 2 ended that i gave it a shot. holy fuck this show sucks.
also read that the ginger wasn't going to get any resolution until fans kept on complaining and was written quickly in the end of season 2 with nancy (jerked off to her getting naked and having sex) going to ginger's parents house to tell them that months ago her daughter died.
