Anyone know why the ban only lasted a few hours?
This is news to me
Reminder that Hitler was Australian
>aussie friend already dropped 30 bucks for a VPN
what should I say to him?
The block is still up for me.
New Zealand m8
>paying to post on Yea Forums
Yeah, what's going on?
Didn’t even notice and that’s a good thing
iinet has started blocking shit
heck i still shitpost with my uni wifi
OP is a fucking retard. He posted from his phone and doesn't realise that they never blocked the phones.
I didn't know straya is a police state now
I'm Aussie. So far my ISP has banned Yea Forums, but not 4channel.
maybe cause phone has identification attached
seems so, happens fast hey. our gov has apparently been taken over by extremists and they waited for the right time to make their move, banning anything on the list and probably preparing to take further action. it's madness but if it's reality then theres nothing to do but accept it and step in line.
that's no loss then. we just lose access to porn. pol is a terrible place anyway full of nutters, i thought everyone stopped going there except to troll.
Why's that?
It's because Yea Forums is supposedly one of the sites that continues to spread the NZ mosque shooting video
he could have changed his dns for free
Source?
i dont want to be the one to ask but why is that a bad thing? is it illegal to watch that video now? it cant be cause they didnt change the law.
i feel from this reaction there might have been something in that video that confirms the thing was fake or something.
amp.9news.com.au/article/128de87c-0fba-4bac-9e14-d3a1cfbbc6d4
It's because they're scared shitless of the ideologies espoused by Tarrant. They believe it can actually lead to a "white spring".
Certainly didn't miss those people in the mosques.
>now
So is pornhub. Wonder why they didn't ban that?
>our gov has apparently been taken over by extremists
They're just old retards that are out of touch with how actual Australians live, I wouldn't call them extreme.
Not accurate, they should look into eight-chan. That place is a lot worst than this shithole. Their White Supremacist are literal ISIS-tier while ours are just the opposite of an average SJW.
>good job wasting money when a 2 second dns change to 1.1.1.1 or whatever other decent one works fine.
I would laff, but I know its going to be the uk next
before any continentals have a laff you are going to be next, you always see what the uk can get away with then copy it
probably end up just americans and eastern euros posting freely
this reminds me of that time this Australian on /pol/ allegedly got most of Sydney or some other cities mobile hotspots banned for spamming BLACKED images
i read the thing it was literally memes and boring ranting that at no point lead to the conclusion for any sane person of doing what he did.
the man was insane or it was a false flag. at university everyone i talked to seems to think it was a false flag due to the guy mentioning memes, pewdiepie and having spent time in and praised pakistan just 5 months earlier.
we will never know, that's the nature of the beast. but what is for sure is groups in aus gov are being very extreme and censoring everything now like they had planned all along and just needed something to happen to do it.
Didnt even realize you were gone
I would much rather spend the money on a VPN and have total protection than only change my DNS queries and have it clearly visible I'm using a site that has been banned by the government.
You should already be using a VPN for anonymity from google and amazon, the fact so many of you were going raw for so long is pretty insane.
Not working for me.
>americans posting freely
There was an American guy that got charged with 'aggravated assault with a deadly weapon' for posting a fucking gif on twitter
>Kiwi farms on the news.
>Mexican cartel videos are fine.
Dude was skinned alive and had his lung or something balloon in and out. But the mosque was too much?
apparently on certain modems you have to disable ipv6 or else your DNS change won't actually take.
NordVPN is going for $3 a month atm
Did he buy a full year?
i know that fucker, literally fought him in the woolies carpark after 9 for it
I agree. eight-chan is bad. honestly i dont care if they remove Yea Forums and just keep 4channel either but its bizzare since Yea Forums is not part of this at all.
eight-chan is bad news and always has been
There are 12 months in a year you tard, it would be $36
Whats a dns and what does it do?
I'm still blocked. Luckily i have 2 ISPs
most vpns are blocked from posting, most snoop to advertise even if they say they don't
there isn't any regulation for someone to check or they have too
unless you are paying in bitcoin then you have given away more details
To these people, Yea Forums is mentioned in the same breath as the deep web, they lump it all in together.
8 is neat for some of its obscure boards.
It's more like reddit than here ironically since they can have sub-boards for everything, for example some software I use has a board created by the developer ONLY for his software to be discussed.
The reason why Yea Forums has been targeted is because the mums and dads that run the government don't use it.
They don't personally care about it so they don't mind banning it.
They will never ban something they actually use though, like Facebook.
This is a similar reason why video games had such a hard time for awhile, there was a generation running the country that never played them.
you must be joking
my dad literally thought Yea Forums was the darknet/deepweb whatever people call it.
I had to tell him no, its just a normal site where anyone can post so it has a bad reputation in this day and age.
>I'm using a site that has been banned by the government
Porn sites like pornhub, chan.sankaku etc are ban in my country and all I did was change the dns.
NordVPN have sales going on constantly. Don't bother.
eight-chan is bad but their sites have dedicated loli boards.
>most vpns are blocked from posting
pay the toll
> most snoop to advertise even if they say they don't
don't care.
I'd rather they have my info than google, and I'd rather they have it than my ISP.
The much shilled ones like Nord have refused government demands for user information on the grounds they don't keep records.
Whether they are lying to the government or not they're still keeping their users safe.
It's better than raw, telling me the condom could have a pinhole in it doesn't change that it's gonna work better than nothing.
I'm starting to believe that the geny or millennials are now well into institutions. thats the gen anita sarkeesian and the very extreme sjws were part of.
This is the result
opera has a free unlimited vpn if you don't mind the advertising spying
can only use it for webpages not for streaming
>The much shilled ones like Nord have refused government demands for user information on the grounds they don't keep records
ISPs here did something sort of similar, by saying it would be impossible to keep the amount of information on each consumer that the government is demanding.
No
that's neat but I use my VPN outside of my web-browser.
For example my torrenting box (NAS) uses a docker container that uses my VPN to torrent everything through the VPN including the automatic private tracker queries.
I don't think our ISPs are that bad but considering they've already complied in rolling out this ban I would rather have the extra layer.
Using a VPN doesn't take you off the grid, you're not actually 100% insulated but it's better than nothing.
Ok, so using Cloudflare DNS, seems good, got Yea Forums back.
lets put this in perspective. yes censorship is happening and its bad and horrifying. we see today what we probably all knew, that we aren't free to speak. in actuality facebook has just as extreme posts as anywhere on Yea Forums in every group and comment section but the boomers dont know this.
but if they ban Yea Forums is it that bad? they SHOULD ban eight-chan as its always been bad news and they SHOULD ban pol because now its actual racists and nutters and bots and "shills" left and nobody else.
They should ban Yea Forums. fuck it. seriously why dont we just rejoin society and be redditors? why even bother fighting the power when there is no point?
DNS is like a phone book that turns the URL you type into your addressbar into the IP address numbers your computer uses to get to the website.
What the government has done is taken its phonebooks and ripped out Yea Forums.org so no one in the country knows where to find Yea Forums.org.
By changing your DNS you're effectively just using a different free phonebook to find Yea Forums.org anyway.
Kind of this.
This shit is making me realise that the Yea Forums/4channel split was a good idea.
I can still at least access parts of the sites that are actually targeted to specific hobbies and interests, even when the toxic areas are banned.
>In actuality facebook has just as extreme posts as anywhere on Yea Forums
It's true, I follow RHCP on normiebook and they recently played a showed in Egypt, some girl commented that they should come to Israel and that's when the fun started. So anyone thinking that by deleting big bad 4chins will change anything is delusional
Then why even block a site?
Yea Forums is banned because people disseminate information too quickly with out a centre leader and with a hive mind
>Australians banned
>thread quality goes up 20000% percent
>no more BLACKED spam and racebaiting
>actual discussion on all boards
This ban should honestly just be permanent. Stick to retardchan
Fuck off those things you listed are of quality.
Plebbitor projects why he should go back to plebbit episode
it trips up the curious
because most people won't bother to look up how to get past it and as far as politicians are concerned if it doesn't immediately pop-up when you try to visit it then it's "blocked".
In reality it's less blocked and more unlisted. Still it makes them happy, they did the same thing with all the major torrent sites last year including iptorrents and nyaa and thepiratebay before that.
Some 18 yo got arrested and denied bail for sharing the video. He's looking at 14 years lol
>What are incentives for longer-term contracts.
>toxic
Terrible post, garbage poster.
makes it look like they have accomplished something to the masses while also not having to spend much money to implement such thing.
how can he do 14 years or any years without a law to have broken? i call bullshit on your post
>but if they ban Yea Forums is it that bad?
Yes. Banning Yea Forums doesn't do anything, it just removes a platform people have to engage with one another. But that doesn't mean those thoughts and feelings won't subsist in the population.
Who the fuck decided these people should be in charge of controlling what you can and can't say anyhow? Doesn't it piss you off that out of nowhere your ability to communicate can be stifled? By these people that claim to be better than China or Russia no less, but have forms of censorship that are even greater.
except they won't split the bans, they will ban the entire site. I rarely ever go to pol, I'm not a nazi, I didn't watch the video barring a few portions that cropped up on other sites (hell, I saw more on twitter), but couldn't get to tv, hr, asp, ck and so on.
as much of a retard as that guy is, this is a steep punishment for preserving history.
We didn't prosecute war time photographers like this, even though they were on the other side.
Also one of the muslims in the temple filmed the aftermath while people were covered in blood, they showed his footage on the national news and did an interview with him like it's okay.
Weird double standard here.
Right now on Internode, Yea Forums is banned but 4channel isn't
>But that doesn't mean those thoughts and feelings won't subsist in the population.
Banning the means for people to get together/communicate is one way to stop these atrocity.
t. leaf
don't copy my thread you fucking nigger
telstra did both :S
>I didn't watch the video
I don't understand why watching the video is such a grave insult that it justifies the ban. What's the practical difference between reading a news report that goes into gruesome detail about the shooting and watching a video of it?
Also the same for my Optus mobile. Yea Forums banned, 4channel ok.
Hiro should honestly just permaban the following regions
>all flyover states
>Ontario, Canada
>Australia and its somehow even more retarded cousin
>Finland
>France
>Mexico
Literally nobody from these places has ever posted anything remotely approaching substance
Literally takes 2 seconds to google it
>BLACKED spam and racebaiting
>quality
>reading comprehension
DON'T BULLY
I was looking through the twitter post that Telstra made about the website bannings and 99% of the "good on ya telstra" comments are from boomers. Fuck boomers.
whalecum back
i dont believe going on pol makes you a nazi but recently you'd have to be one or braindead to stick around there with how shit it's gotten.
and right now when things get serious we see everyone with their larping marks off. civil conversation ensues
Ok what the fuck is that ad
Yes, New Zealand said that they are treating possession and distribution of the video as a criminal offence. And Australia and New Zealand are extremely close with one another.
>spend the money on a VPN and have total protection
Because he committed a thoughtcrime, so he goes off to the gulag.
then there must be a law? whats the law?
>tfw your ISP is the shittest in the country and doesn't ban Yea Forums because they don't know how
if its not a criminal offense it doesnt matter, nobody can do jail time for it. police cant just make up laws and expect it to fly in court. you have to break a law to go to jail or be charged.
>I'd rather they have my info than google, and I'd rather they have it than my ISP.
Do you realy think your IP is the only way you can be tracked? Jesus...
Film classification offence, knowingly distributing offensive material. Literally contravening a censorship regulation charge.
if this is the reality then lol australia. but i doubt it
which isp? they may have a few new customers
Australia must be nuked.
Dodo kek
lol if that holds any weight in court.. it'd have to be a very specific hand picked type of judge thats all i'll say.
i'll grab a dodo internet plan tomorrow thanks bro lol
why was the new zealand pm making digs at trump over the incident??
Colbert was even ragging on trump over it, new zealand isn't a u.s state do new zealanders and americans know this?
They already arrested and took a kid to court for distributing it, user.
i think it would be hard not to see the faction that is against trump has power worldwide at this point
>new zealand isn't a u.s state
>14 years for sharing a video
It's disturbing how governments can take your life away over something so small.
any VPN recco's lads ?
also, love how this is evolving under a "liberal" (our conservatives for the seppos) government here in aus
>lol if that holds any weight in court..
The law is different here than the States. So that kid would be prosecuted regardless.
apparently all the isps just simultaneously agreed to block the same list of sites all at once lol.
It isn’t happening under them. Or not really, they’re practically speaking a government in name only ever since Labor (and the Greens they’ve been sharing pillow talk with for most of the past decade) wrested control of the House from them for their illegal immigrant bill.
here we recently got our first "anti hate speech laws" which basically says its illegal to offend anyone.
how often do you think that is enforced though? the people would go crazy.
I'm with TPG and posting just fine
Yea Forums not 4channel
>INTERNET THAT FLIES
>9.90 PER MONTH
>CONNECT YOURSELF WITH
Joshy you here m8?
Maybe investing into a VPN isn't such a bad idea.
ah fuck
ah fuck what do I do now? will a vpn solve this?
>country gets unbanned
>suddenly there are cunny threads in the catalog
Really activates my thinking almonds
>Be South African
>Only thing my country is worried about is the rolling black outs they caused
Based
That was in New Zealand, not Australia.
