funny thing about mlp was when i first came here in either late 2004 or early 2005 one of the first threads i opened was a guy on Yea Forums posting pictures of his gunpla fighting with plastic army men. halfway through the thread somebody started pictures of horse toys and enraging the gunpla guy. i asked what the hell the horses were and he said "my mlp collection". i remember saying ohhhh like the song..my little blah blah". i asked him where the hell he got little girl toys.

Thank you, get back to comfy posting. There was a couple in front of me, so just those two. It was late Sunday night though, 10:30, so it made sense. Not the best theater in town either, it's the Regal, not the Cinemark. The theater honestly really sucks, as the staff does not at all clean up the theaters after a showing, sometimes they fucking come in during the trailers, right before the movie is about to start. The seats are clearly very old and haven't been updated since the early 2000's, they just feel like they're about to fall apart. Also, there is no security. The amount of theater hopping I've seen happen is ridiculous. I've had drunk, loud people just clamor into screenings before, it's ridiculous.

I actually enjoyed Ghost in the Shell, which you could argue tells a more solid complete story. But it became so generic b the end. Alita felt like something more special. It can be a mess at times but the action was not only anime, but just overall fun. It never got to dive into the more heavy philosophy stuff, but it made up for it with some great world building that left me yearning to see more. At the end of the day while it wasn't a perfect film, the creativity and passion put into it really shined through for me. Just wish it had a better climax

Also, this whole plotline with Hugo in the finale was weird. You'd think he's going to die in the church, he doesn't, he gets a new cyborg body, and dies again anyway five minutes later. This whole plotline was uneccesary and felt like it plays on repeat.
Also, am I the only Slav here, that thinks "Grevishka" is a really non-threatening name for a baddie? It actually sounds very diminutive and kinda cute. It's like calling T-800 "Bobby".

You know the classic scene in horror movies where a character gets grabbed, almost claws their way to safety, but gets dragged off in the end? That's Hugo's arc in the last 15 minutes of the movie. It makes the loss Alita feels even greater, since she almost saved him, but failed.

His name is pronounced as "grave-ish" in russian dub. They also changed Chiren's name pronounciation to "Kiren". Names beginning with "Ch" are very rare in Russian so i guess they wanted it to sound more natural.
Cant say i mind either of those changes.
