I don't think that scene was too weird though. The show definitely could have benefited with another scene of the brothers together to show how Stannis was really wanted by his death.

You can’t say he never won a battle on the show and then bring up the Wildlings. But besides that you are missing the fact that Stannis being at the front of his army when Ramsay’s larger army on horseback came charging right at him and he not only survived but was one of the only people still alive, somehow, then kills two dudes while You can’t say he never won bleeding to death. If you think about how unbelievable that is it actually makes him the toughest fucker on the show after Arya who can get stabbed in the guts and shrugs it off.
