autismo strikes again
Aquila Rift and/or Lucky 13 is good entry into the series.
Zima Blue is great, but different than the others.
Three Robots and Suits are embarrassing.
There seem to be a LOT of filler episodes. And I have no idea why they selected the order the way they did--a lot of bad episodes are in the first half.
Posting every thread until you accept that this is the objectively correct rating.
For those that were curious, here's the differences between Sonnies Edge the short story, and the short film.
>All except the final scene is from Sonnie's perspective, so we get a lot more hints to the finale.
>The team starts out on really good terms with Dicko, Sonnie even plays nice and shows him Kharnivore and he admires it.
>The offer still happens, but it’s for a much lower amount because the sport is brand new, and since it’s not hugely popular yet they don’t make much per round.
>They do react to it, but he remains calm and collect and his reasoning why they should take it is pragmatic, they need to invest more in the future and Kharnivore is expensive to upkeep, needing a 'complete overhaul' every 9 months.
>He essentially is treating it more like an E-sports match in the early days, he wants an early win so he can get more in the future, and they can invest more in the future.
>They still blow him off and use a much more toned down version of the rant.
>He just accepts that and doesn't make a big deal out of it.
>The opponent is a purple dinosaur with stubby legs. Yes. You read that right.
>Her opponent also doesn't taunt her that we see, because we see it from Kharnivore's perspective.
>Arm blade happens, but Kharnivore never gets pinned and snapped the other's neck instead
>Dicko looks “morosely” but doesn’t react
>Honeypot still happens and betrayal still happens, but it’s for more personal reasons, she lost a lot of money on the match.
>Honeypot girl is much smarter and pragmatic, we also get descriptions of her finger blades.
>Sonnies body had her spinal cord in it, that’s how she controls it.
>She tells Honeypot girl she never was raped, she was hit by a truck from a drunk driver, that’s just to trick everyone into thinking hate drives her, when in reality it’s survival. She could’ve been put back in her body in this one but chose Kharnivore.
>Ending happens, sans Dicko, he never went to see Sonnie again

Beyond the Aquila Rift was great, I tried looking but whats the short story that the author made with this because "Beyond the Aquila Rift" was. It had a Mass Effect 2 vibe with the collectors.
Can anyone recommend something like that short? Film, video games or print stories would be perfect.
Also, sounds like a stupid question but did the "Greta" impersonator really care, or was it to lull the captain?
To the guy who said there are no blacs in Secret War, fuck off I'm watching it now and it's a bunch of slavs--white niggers.
Saya no Uta. Enjoy edging for 12 hours, user.
Zima Blue is pure kino
the first one with the animated nipples getting hard though >uuumnmph
>I tried looking but whats the short story that the author made with this because "Beyond the Aquila Rift" was
It's called Beyond the Aquila Rift, but specifically it's the short story in the "Zima Blue, and other stories by Alastair Reynolds" collection. Yes, THAT Zima Blue, Alastair Reynolds wrote both of them.
>Can anyone recommend something like that short?
Any of the short stories in the aforementioned collection, or pretty much anything by Alastair Reynolds in space setting will make it happen.
>Also, sounds like a stupid question but did the "Greta" impersonator really care, or was it to lull the captain?
She truly did care. I won't spoil the short now that you know what to look for.
We haven’t had a good wolfman kino in a LONG time. I used to watch the old black and white one with my Grampa and they’re my favorite monsters. I’m desperate
Is this similar to the animatrix? are there any of the animators and team from that on this?
>She truly did care. I won't spoil the short now that you know what to look for.
Oh shit? You're telling me there's more to this in the print?
>Secret War
>1919 ritual
This so obviously should have been tied to the 1908 Tunguska Event that I can only assume the writers didn't do this solely because they didn't know about its existence. What a lost opportunity.
I got an Animatrix vibe, could just be me
Good Hunting >Zima Blue >Beyond the Aquila Rift> The Secret War > Three Robots>Fish Night> Lucky 13 > Sonnie's Edge>Helping Hand> ice age > Alternate Histories > The Witness > Blindspot > Sucker of Souls >The Dump > Shape-Shifters > When the Yogurt Took Over > Suit
They reference Animatrix and tease it, so yeah.
how? the second rennaissance was great
>commie war but with demons
>muslim war but with werewolves
lame
secret wars was just a dull videogame cutscene, I was zoning out the entire time
shapeshifters at least had a bit of personality
they both sucked but at least the werewolf one had samwise to carry it
Why didn't they keep to the original story?
Go watch Star Wars.
Netflix’s agenda at work
I don't even like Star Wars m8
Not terribly, just a quick reference in Three Robots about how the world ended--describes what happened in Second Renaissance then says lol jk environmentalism
As a swede it is kind of funny that they made Zima Blue a very dark skinned nigger. Because we call them "blåneger" in Swedish.

Alternate Histories was the worst. At least the other ones had more creativity and less "lol random xD comedy"
wut
People love this show dummy.
hey, so is there more in the written story than what the short film portrays?
How can people really hate Good Hunting? I’m pretty right wing and enjoyed it. No one should be colonized
those two are basically just action romps, why are you pretending they're deep works?
there's nothing to taste besides the cgi visuals
Yeah, it looked nice and was fun.
Suits literally was zerg + Fortnite + farmville + tower defense. Suits was the worst.
Yes and no. The base story and the ending are the same, but there's a lot of big changes. I can spoil them if your really want.
Yes. The short omitted one very BIG detail.
I loved Good Hunting. I gave a bit of an eyeroll to the colonisation thing but when it turned into robot kitsune hookers I was all for it.
But colonization led to an explosion of technological advancement. They went from trains to robotics in what seemed like a decade
Not so much an agenda as really bad writing. We can't have someone lie about being raped, we can't have a rich white businessman not be a comical villain, and we can't have the blonde acting of her own accord to do evil things. Maybe some of this was done because PC, but mostly its just the guys who adapted the short are dumber than the author.
Maybe, if you're a retard.
I find communists dealings with the occult and subsequent clandestine clean up missions to be terribly interesting and full of plot to explore.
Shape Shifters was whatever
Secret War was based to see commies getting slaughtered by the demons they conjured, the left literally eats its own.
Also Ice Age with Topher and MEW came out of nowhere but was breddy gud, even if they did rip that one episode of South Park a little bit
Trying to not sound like a giddy schoolgirl in heat so the books I should get just to start and read up on the written version of " Beyond the Aquila Rift" are:
>Zima Blue and other short stories
>Beyond the Aquila Rift
correct? If so, my local book store has them and I am pretty hype right now to go and get it.
>even if they did rip that one episode of South Park
They ripped that one episode of Futurama as well.
Which episode?
No ones culture should be gutted and raped for ‘progress’. Stop thinking like a jew user
I think they made it that way because they wanted it to be an action packed short from start to finish. Then again I can totally see an SJW editing this with how they invasioned themselves as.
Yes. The short you saw on the screen is in the first collection, and it shares the same title, but I'd also heavily recommend the second as well, you'll love it if you love this kind of stuff, but the second is NOT a continuation of the first, it's their own collection.
And the simpsons dummies.
Also Secret War was nice, as much as I hate commies, it was nice to see there’s still some humanity inside them once in a while.
What is the most boring short and why is it Lucky 13?
suits was comfy
>I think they made it that way because they wanted it to be an action packed short from start to finish.
Well then they yet again failed there, because the opening is just the dialog from the book but dumber and spoken by different people, the book didn't have that taunting the cut off from the fight and was just a nonstop battle with more to it and more details added, and the finale added another character taunting the protagonist who wasn't there to drag it out longer. If they'd been faithful to the book it would have been just as long if not shorter and had more action beats.
Marxists and Soviets are very different. Especially soldiers. Soldiers are soldiers are soldiers.
You realize it was fantasy, right? Also how is colonization bad? Under developed countries become developed, such a travesty
Bootlicker
Which short would best be expanded to an entire series? I think Three Robots
Spoil spoil!
thanks man a bunch man. I'll probably get both books and I'll end up looking into his other works.
Like really, thank you. The last book series I enjoyed reading was Meg by Steve Alten. Good to know I still have something to look forward to reading.
You don't need to play it up as only a positive. Every colonisation we have had also lead to the natives of that region being treated less than second hand citizens. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.

Bootlicker, have sex.
They're also given access to running water, infasctructure, roads, medicine, etc. Most of the time once the "colonizers" leave, the country regresses backwards. Also Good Hunting is a blend of magic, fantasy & technology and is pure fiction, Japan was never colonized.

Netflix has yet to develop the technology to make an enjoyable season of ten one-hour episodes.
Do you think in Shapeshifters that there are human guys banging werewolf girls?
The only real answer is Beyond the Aquila Rift
Alright, fair warning, spoilers.
>Off the bat we learn the big detail the short left out, Thom is married and he's currently heading home to his wife.
>We get a lot more details on the gate, how it works and why they're using it.
>The Greta scenes are a little longer before the sex.
>It's right afterwards that Greta begins to tell Thom the truth, he's 150 light years away from his home and 300 years would have passed if he ever tried to make it home.
>This is when he learns his wife is long dead, and "Greta" was testing to see if he'd be able to live without her.
>He starts to accept where he's at isn't 'real'.
>Greta encourages Thom to help Suzy accept the new reality
>Multiple attempts happen over several months, but it's after meeting a guy on the ship cutting into fish that he realizes something is up.
>Thom mostly deduces on his own Suzy is dead, and "Greta" confirms it
>We find out how the crash worked, the gate had a path that wasn't known to the humans and wasn't understood, and may have been used by other aliens to come visit their system without their knowing.
>"Greta' hints at more than this, but the important thing to note is Greta was the first to end up here, crashed on a floating rock, and decided to make a life there when she and her crew realized there was no way back.
>That's the other big change. Not only is she not alone, there have been others like Thom, and some of them eventually accepted the change, that's what she was trying with Suzy.
>Thom demands to see the real world, Greta goes cold, tells him he won't handle it, she'll have to put him back to sleep and give him a "Happy ending" or he'll go mad, he does it anyway.
>Lots of bug creatures on the place, which is rather closely replicated in the short besides.
>We don't see "Greta', only antler like portrusions controlling the place and a feeling of love.
>Instantly snap to Thom 'waking up' without seeing his reaction, he thinks he's back home with his wife, "Safe and dry".
yogurt wasn't too bad. it's an obvious allegory for ai to highlight the absurdity of it
This is what happens when you don't get colonized
meant for
That's because they squeeze 10 episodes out of 6 episodes worth of plot.
Doesn't have to be an hour, also Umbrella Academy exists
Would you still love her?
AI having all the answers to problems isn't absurd though.
her hole looks comfy desu
>UA
Only 2 or 3 episodes were enjoyable though
Welp this yogurt one is the proper kind of silly.
It's called a neovagina you bigot
You seem to really want to push this argument. If you are fine with forcing yourself into someones elses country. Share your technology and infrastructure but in the process strip down the areas resources while excluding the natives of the land you forced yourself on from basic human rights then that's on you.
Huh. This does just seem like the short, but longer.
I'mma find it and read it.
I wish there were more Lovecraftian shorts like Beyond the Aquila Rift
cg actors are getting there... sometimes I forgot they were cg
the yogurt had answers to all the worlds problems, too. The problem wasn't with the yogurt, it was people properly implementing its policies.
I would take the blue pill, Greta was hot af
i don't think the yogurt had any credibility at first because it was a fucking tub of yogurt but the government hedged their bets on not giving up supposed good intel to the Chinese.
>Greta turns into a thicc mommy that makes you tendies and watches you play video games while stroking your hair.
So the "Greta" was the real Greta but inside the hivemind?
Then what's absurd about it? I mean, sure, the yogurt replaces AI, that's the joke. But if you replace the yogurt with, you know, the actual thing you are being allegorical about, you end up with the same result. So I don't understand why to be allegorical about it. Is the author trying to point out that it would be absurd for a hyperintelligence to have all the answers? I mean, I don't see the allegory here, simply by replacing AI by yogurt. Or is it simply a joke? Like, here, you have a smart yogurt!
God I hate Scalzi so fucking much
thats what im on now. very enjoyable
No, he met an actual Greta before and had a fling with her like in the short, that's why Spider-Waifu took her appearance, she needed a shape to test if he could live without his wife. There also isn't a hivemind, it's a direct connection.
>space spider can make herself appear to be anyone you want, can fuck anyone stored in your mental spank bank
Hnnng
The narrator even says "Wouldn't the yogurt be smart enough to know that the humans couldn't implement the plan?". Thus telling you the yogurt wasn't simply benevolent. It wanted power and the easiest way to get it was to lead humans into a dystopia before fixing it.
No everyone the main character meets is based on his memory of someone he'd previously meet.
This. Anglos all deserve painful extinction.
Ohio looks kino tho
The one where an entire civilization spawns on Bender's belly while he floats through space. And then Bender meets god at the end.
so what is the purpose of eldritch horror? and why test to see if he could live without his wife?
so everyone who is in the web are experiencing the own reality?
>he says in an Anglo language while using Anglo tech
S*y
I suppose so. We don't meet any other survivors.
Forgot about that one thanks m8
Dunno, I would assume it's her trying to move in to "replace" her. She takes Greta's form probably because Thom must of had a huge thing for her.
Greta is just a lonely spiderfu that wants a husbano and if Thom can't get over the death of his wife then that would mean Greta could never make him happy. If he can, then she has a chance.
>so what is the purpose of eldritch horror?
What? That's just what she is. She's not an all knowing being, she ended up in this place via malfunction same as him and just hunkered down with her much more advanced machines that could sustain them, because she knew even if she tried to go home to her world it would have changed radically from what she left behind.
>and why test to see if he could live without his wife?
His wife died over 100 years ago by the time he 'wakes up' in the simulation, that loss crushed a lot of other crew members from different ships she had met before
.
>so everyone who is in the web are experiencing the own reality?
Yes, because there were multiple crews who had crashed there before Thom, and some of them who survived woke up and eventually came to live in the 'real' world with her. Very few humans though, which is why she was easing him into it but he still cracked.
At first the issue is just that the policy is so complicated that most cant understand it and there are people that are going to tweak the interpretation of it to their advantage just by human nature.
After society collapses then you have complete yogurt control and everyone leads happy existences but the yogurt no longer needs people.
yeah, pretty much just swapping ai for yogurt. You're supposed to think what kind of idiots would trust their whole society to a cup of yogurt.
What would be your realities anons? What perfect world does Greta make for you?
Would finally get to live out my macrophilia fetish.
devilman crybaby is 10 half hour episodes, idk if that counts.
You can never go back Yea Forums, everything you know is dead and drastically changed.
if the yogurt was so smart then why didn't it realize that they wouldn't implement the plan exactly to spec
>What perfect world does Greta make for you?

ASIAN HAREM
Hi tier:
zima blue -- 8/10 - Terrific, solid concept, the most novel shorts of the lineup that explores scifi big questions. Victory is in a simple soul.
aquila rift -- 8/10 - good, a bit predictable (that dress) but good execution and solid (if unoriginal) concept. great visuals, solid ending.
sonnies edge -- 7/10 - good concept, I liked the twist that the one in control was the monster the whole time. the rape thing was a ruse.
yogurt -- 7/10 - great concept exploration, just the right length.
ice age -- 7/10 - funny, the end was a bit meh, but fun concept and executed well, good contrast with most of the other shorts here.
secret war -- 7/10 - Good action short, nazi zombies but on the soviet side, simply good action.
lucky 13 -- 7/10 - I liked it a lot, though I wish they had played up the ship personality bit more, shown that it was really 'alive', good scifi action, fine concept
mid tier:
good hunting -- 5/10 - ok, this one had a great start interesting fantasy contrast with tech, good animation, but then getting preachy weakened it, making 'white men' out to be all evil/bad weakens it. Big concept they could have played with. You can read a lot into this short, but it needs more fleshing out, as is it's only a 5 or 6/10.
fish night -- 6/10 - fine, more mysterious than story driven, you have to find meaning in it.
suits -- 6/10 - fun but not much more, lacked depth, or weight
helping hand -- 5/10 - ok concept like 127 hours in space, but the science was awful, and it was too convenient.
the witness -- 5/10 - not much substance, the style was fine but inconsistent. Also very predictable. You can interpret meaning but I don't think it earns it.
blindspot -- 5/10 - forgettable train heist.
Imagine taking the time to type this all out and think that people will read it.
shit tier:
sucker of souls -- 5/10 - cat trope is old, animation/action was just ok
the dump -- 4/10 - predicable that the pet isn't a dog
alternate histories -- 4/10 - classic concept done poorly. I didn't enjoy it or find it clever. (looks like Kurzgesagt)
three robots -- 3/10 - patronizing overall,
shape shifters -- 2/10 - This felt way out of place in this lineup. Big fail on a serious take.
I could live in Animal Crossing forever.
I analyze what I watch (and note) more for myself than anyone else.
Your hi tier is shit, sonnie’s edge is a shit episode, faggot
>, but then getting preachy weakened it, making 'white men' out to be all evil/bad weakens it
Hunting for me is just bad because of one thing. They opened the short with a mini-tale about how assuming something is evil because it's different is wrong. You think they're monsters because how they look, act and seem to be behaving, but then you learn that both just want to live and in the end, you were wrong to assume the thing that looked bad was as bad as it looked.
And then it's like 'Except white people, fuck white people'. The fuck.
Fuck, I almost quit this shit but Beyond the Aquila Rift was bretty good, so I'll keep watching.
Three Robots and The Witness were fucking god awful though, christ.
Why is IMDB so fucking shit at ranking episodes properly?
Nailed it. The whole beginning of the episode was meaningless and downright misleading.
It's not perfect but better than most of the shorts. They shouldn't have opened with it.
Lucky 13 because that would technically be an adaptation of Frontlines and Im starved for military sf.
Agreed, overall it's just a mess, it doesn't know what it wants to be, it throws out a bunch of feel-trigger cliches. You can see hints of promise through the cracks (the gorgeous visuals help) but it's not good.
The Witness was pretty but had nothing else going for it.
Which is fine I guess considering the length.
Shape-shifter
i can't be the only one who got a hard-on as soon as they showed its mouth.
you almost think
>oh at least it's humanoid
until nope it's not.
muh dick
so is that Greta? So let me get this straight, there is no hope once there and that thing is helping acclimatize/ ease in to the situation its in to keep in company?
Okay, I just watched this last night, and here's my ranking. It's divided in tiers, and the order within each tier is from best to worst. I've given a little explanation for each.
>Personal favorites tier
>Suits
My personal favorite. Starship Troopers meet Tremors on a farm. Good characters, good writing(scarecrow is setup and pays off) and the twist is perfect. I usually hate twist endings because the "gotcha/2clever4u" aspect can easily backfire if not done right, but this is the perfect way to do it, it just added to the worldbuilding.
>Fish Night
Visually interesting, again with the good characters and I like the philosophical point it made.
>Sucker of Souls
Again, great characters and great dynamic between them, was funny, great action and gore. Only major flaw is the gunshot fade to black ending(and it's a big one, so I get why it's not that highly rated).
>Crowdpleasers/Overrated but still great tier
>Zima Blue
I get why people liked it, it's well done, contemplative, quirky, interesting premise, etc. But I just wasn't that amazed by it.
>Beyond The Aquila Rift
The horror visuals(and just visuals in general) were really great, but it's basically "spaceship gets trapped in spiderweb that is The Matrix with a monster instead of machines in space". The sexual aspect was interesting though.
>Secret War
The characters and setting were really good, but again I wasn't that wowed by it. Maybe it's because the monsters' design was so bland and generic. Felt like it would have made a good video game.
>Shape-Shifters
Interesting concept, solid characters, don't have much else to say about it. Breddy gud.
(cont'd)
>Interesting/flawed tier
>The Dump
I think I liked this way more than anyone. Good anti-big government/city slicker(insert sneedpost here) message.
>Good Hunting
Someone's weird clanking/furry piss fetish made into a 15 minute short.
>Helping Hand
Short, for what it's worth. I just really have a problem with the whole breaking her own arm thing. Even if it would be possible with the cold of vaccuum making it more brittle and stopping the bleeding, I'm still not sure you could do that without passing out from the pain. Sure, maybe the freezing dulled the pain, but still, she seemed like she was feeling it...
>The Witness
Perfect exemple of what I meant when I said I hated twists. IT'S A TIME LOOP, I AIN'T GOTTA EXPLAIN SHIT LMAO. At least you get to see a naked chick for most of it I guess? Visual style was p. good too.
>Sonnie's Edge
SJW propaganda trash, good fight scene and interesting setting doesn't quite save it. Twist was meh, might have worked better if I wasn't so annoyed by it by that point.
>Forgettable tier
>Lucky 13
So forgettable. Probably its only quality was the CGI, I honestly couldn't tell if the humans were real at some points, but the main character's face has an uncanny valley look that gives it away.
>Blindspot
I'm honestly struggling to remember this one, m8. Interesting character design is a plus I guess?
(cont'd)
>Reddit tier
>Three Robots
The "funniest" of this tier, but it's still reddit comedy. The basic comedic premise is also fucking retarded when you think about it for more than 2 seconds. Robots are making fun of absurd(from a machine's perspective) human behavior, but they are themselves anthropomorphised and have illogical, human-like traits and flaws.
>Ice Age
What if you had a human civilization in your fridge?! Isn't that comedy gold?! Hackeneyed, overdone premise, basically that Simpsons' episode where a civilisation grows from Lisa's tooth from 20 years ago, but done worse and less funny.
>When The Yogurt Took Over
We are approaching "The Narwhal Bacons At Midnight" and "Holds up spork" level of lol so random comedy here.
>Alternate Histories
Words cannot describe how much I hated this trash.
t.nigger
What philosophical point did you see in fish night?
I agree suits is fun, and the end, showing the farmers are actually the invaders on the planet is a neat twist.
Hard to take it seriously with your sucker of souls and shape shifters rating.
Yeah the science in helping hand was garbage and drags the whole short down. her arm wouldn't freeze that fast (it wouldn't freeze at all).
Its that or accept a bleak death of starvation in a horrifying hive far away from home. Id fuck that mouth-pussy raw until i croaked.
Based and redpilled. Dude captivated a civilization with his art work but was happiest being a dumb nigga cleaning pools LMAO
>What philosophical point did you see in fish night?
I'm not good at explaining stuff like this, but I thought it was about naivete, something like don't be fooled by appearances, don't let beauty deceive you into letting your guard down because predators are everywhere, even where you wouldn't expect it. That's what I got from it anyway.
As for the Suits ending, I also thought it brought further justification as to why the setting was how it was. You watch it, and you initially think "this is cool and all, but they just thought wouldn't it be cool if you had sci-fi aliens and mech suits on a farm, but the mix of those two things doesn't really make sense", but the ending reveals they were terraforming another planet, and you go "okay, it kinda justifies why there would be agriculture". Still doesn't explain why they wouldn't do it in greenhouses or why they would be stereotypical countryside farmers(realistically it would be scientists-type).
I've only watched the first two so far. I liked Three Robots, good commentary on society, easy laughs.
>What philosophical point did you see in fish night?
The spiritual/metaphysical is just another forest, another field, where wild animals hunt.
Wow you’re a faggot
Suits, Suckers of Souls and Blind Spot actually felt a lot like pilot episodes for series
The others wrap up pretty nicely there is no reason to really continue those stories
I fucking love this.
If you liked Heavy Metal you will love this.
In this sense, it was the most 40k episode
>everyone's suddenly turned on Shapeshifters
What happened, it was it most people's top 5's on Friday and now it's in every bottom tier list. That opening scene was kino along with the Werewolf fight. Decker was an interesting character who you really got to know over the course of the story unlike the other shorts. His relationship with Sobieski was cute and reminiscent of real life friendships
wtf u guys
This is one of the most visually interesting things I've seen. The story was totally predictable but the cinematography was excellent.
God this creature design is so cool.
Do we know the artist who modeled this yet?
The Mirkin ruined it for me. But the point got across. It was brilliantly animated.
Fun fact: She's based on the original design of Peni Parker for Spideverse, which Mielgo was originally the director of until Sony canned him
The animation styles are incredible in some of these
In certain shots I literally can't tell if it's real or cg confusing but very interesting at the same time
Regardless it's very beautiful and well done
I don’t blame Yea Forumsirgins, they hate fur gags like everyone else. But that episode was different so that made it tolerable.
I need to watch this on acid.
Are you fucking serious? Who knew Peni was perfect all along?
I think its highlighting the absurdity of the million scifi stories where similar shit happens with AI and how rarely anyone questions how fucking crazy that kinda situation is.
Yeah if you go to Mielgo's Instagram he confirms it in one of his posts, also talks about why he was fired etc.
To be honest the entirety of spiderverse owes itself to Mielgo's work
i can see why sony did. pedo parker would not have worked well.
i read it, and enjoyed his analysis
kys

I'll have to Spiderverse. The girl was gorgeous.

Is there anything anybody wants a WebM of? I can't do anything after Zima Blue as I haven't watched past it.
>F-FUCK YOU user YOU RUINED MY 10/10 STORY FOR NOTICING THAT!

I'd move three robots up, and move Aquila rift down. There wasn't much to Aquila rift. It's hard to make a good short mostly out of twists.
Why does everything have to be made into a general
shape shifters was way too American-nationalistic for my tastes. And you guys call this show liberal propaganda.
One copy to see Zima Blue please.
>And then it's like 'Except white people, fuck white people'
Anglos, not white people.
Fish Night when he first jumps, I'd love that as a phone background
Does the twist ending of Suits make it better or worse?
I wasn't sure how much you wanted to I cut it off at the first scene change. Let me know if you want more.
Which part?
>Which part?
the swimming pool.
Why does everyone love this episode? It was predictable as fuck. It's essentially "it was all a dream" with a slight twist. And that dialogue
>who knew someone could fuck that hard in zero g
I laughed hard
Any chance you could do the whole sequence of the real world when Tohm wakes up in aquila rift? Or just up to right before the spider shows up.
Many thanks in advance.

Retard
Shapeshifters was about trannies.
Secret wars was about the bolcheviks cooperating with germany in the 20s and later even with hitler.
Imagine if Good Hunting wasn't some retarded furry White Knight's fapfic about a racist robot fox vigilante and instead about how important it is to keep a hold of your tradition and culture despite technological progress. Wouldn't have to change much of the story, and having her willfully go full decepticon just to feel like her old self again would have been much more powerful.
I had to reduce the resolution a fair bit but I was able to get the whole pool sequence.
fuck this was a good scene.
It's ok to be stupid and miss the point, user.
Read some history books on the Brits in India, China and the US (remember when they slaughtered defenceless Americans, women and children included, just to spread terror during the war for independence? Or how they went full Escobar on China?) before you call their portrayal racist or innacurate.
>remember when they slaughtered defenceless Americans, women and children included, just to spread terror during the war for independence
I too watched the Patriot
How would I miss the point? They awkwardly stated it clear as day as if they didn't trust their over the top presentation wouldn't do it for them.
My problem wasn't with the point, it was with the delivery and the focus of the short. I never called their portrayal racist or inaccurate, although it is obviously both, but that is all you have to fall back on because there is no way for somebody as brain damaged as you to defend it.
i watched the first 3 ep, yesterday.
sex, genitals, trans, lesbians, kike degeneracy everywhere. what the fuck is wrong with netflix?
do they think they can get away with it just because it's animated?
do they tone this down or is it full kikery until the end of the series?

>no agenda but..:
>lists blatant agenda item by item
Sure thing, my dude.
This is a foot gore show for 12 year old boys.
>too nationalistic
Nigga, wat? Every person in the army is depicted as a bigoted piece of speciest shit willfully ignoring both how blatantly obvious it is the werewolves could kill them at any second and how many times the wolves save them throughout the short:
shape shifters was about racism
Reminder, Zima was built by a white man in the story and his race was never specifically defined. By shoving race into the story at every possible juncture, Netflix accidentally made a racist short intimating that blacks were happier picking cotton after being put into slavery by other blacks. Oops.
Jesus Christ. Yet another full blown propaganda Original by netflix.
The fact that everyone involved immediately forgives the dad, a violent racist who slaughters women, actively undermines the rest of the short where everything might as well be taken from a turn of the century Chinese propaganda cartoon about evil gweilo.
Check out Late Phases. Good movie.
Maybe try reading an actual book next time.
Second verse same as the first. The stereotype you call over the top did not come from nowhere. Brits had a world spanning empire and they didn't get it by playing nice or even rough, they were downright comically racist and violent, absolutely sure of their superiority.
>Second verse same as the first.
So you are proud you don't have anything else to say? Did Netflix not give you a script that included anything else?
I could argue about your kindergarten level of understanding of history all day, but none of that has anything to do with whether the short was well executed. It wasn't. It was written like a shallow revenge fantasy straight out of a 12 year old's diary. Continue to move goal posts all you want.

agree, seems really overrated. Still, the animation was great.
People want Alien sex until it's time to have Alien sex then they freak so hard they have to go back to their species in their head. Kind of like a bag over her head, but more of an entire skin change.
The reapers from ME were at the very least inspired by Alastair Reynold’s novel Revelation Space. The leader writer for ME 1 has admitted this, I believe. So, given that Beyond the Aquila Rift was written in 2005, and Mass Effect 2 was released in 2010, I wouldn’t be surprised if Reynold’s work also inspired the collectors.
The positive reaction to Zima Blue and Beyond the Aquila Rift in this thread is rekindling my hope for a Revelation Space movie. It would be so fucking good, god damn it.
It was set in China to start and Hong Kong to finish. It’s why the main character had a queue (ponytail). Fucking millennials.
Just like someone stumbling across a lost creature in their home and the homeowner can do nothing for it, but ease its way into death.
Right! Imagine knowing you're fucking something that horrific. I could only be its friend.

Cringe.
The funny part is that these are the people that whine about mexicans in america and muslims in europe.
That wasn't comedy any more. That was just a sad power fantasy of killing hitler.

At absolute zero and no pressure, the water in her arm would have instantly boiled, causing massive cell wall rupture of all the soft tissues. Nerve death would have been near instantaneous. Effectively her arm would be freeze dried and extremely brittle. The big issue is Newton’s third law- three or four kilos of freeze dried arm isn’t going to act as a counter to a full persons weight (especially wearing a suit).
Well, build a simulation and we'll all be glad.

If at least one person is willing to fuck a space spider then there's at least one space spider out there willing to fuck a human.
Most people wishing the Aquila Rift happened to them already have nothing to live for. The main character did, he lost everything in one second from his perspective and that's why the thought is not only unbearable, but when the only company you have now is a fucking lovecraftian monster that is so broken from the nature of reality that an adult has accepted for over 40 years, then that's just understandably mind-breaking. Sucks for the alienfu that autists which are already broken from reality just stay at home and don't become space traders so it's never gonna find someone to appreciate it.
Best episode by far, too bad I can't recommend it to people because they'd assume I love it because of the pointless sex scene and I don't like being judged.
>Sonnie's edge - 7/10
Good fight and great visuals the twist was ok, although the overly aggressive antagonists took me out of it a bit.
>Three robots - 6/10
gets worse the more you think about it, but I didn't check how much longer there was during it so it at least entertained me the first time
>The witness - 7/10

>Alternate histories - 4/10

>The Secret War - 8/10
Great visuals, characters are pretty strong, doesn't do anything new with the story though

I mean the animation is really good (at some points the actors looked real.) But the main character and the story was so boring. Ship design and the armor looked great though.
>he's never formed a bond with a machine
>story was boring
Not to most people apparently, since they loved watching the bond form between the pilot and the ship
Except the bonding was poorly executed, had they adapted the ship having more of a personality it would have been great. Would have even been kino if the girl was cute.
The main character was boring because the ship was the focus of the story, not her.
I binged the entire series and holy shit it was garbage. Interesting ideas trampled under bad writing and terrible pacing and fantastic animation.

Aside from sucker of souls, clearly you are a super duper retard. I didn’t like some of these too but you dislike them for the wrong reasons
You do realize that talking in memes just makes you look like a retard and nobody's going to want to argue with someone who thinks making light associations with other pieces of fiction because of minuscule similarities is good criticism, right?
Or is that your whole tactic, so when you end up not getting any (You)s that address your 'arguments' you'll go to sleep tonight thinking you've won the debate because nobody could refute the garbage that you just typed up?
Using the same insult really makes you look like a same fag but it’s more likely that you’re both have the same room temperature IQ. The show was shit riddled with done to death twists and cringeworthy dialogue with shock value that it spends it all in one load like a Chinese man in an American brothel. Ep. 15 was the only fun one with the art being the only thing that got me through the whole series. Netfucks agenda was one of the more painful aspects, bringing entire episodes down with it.
>speaking in memes
The fuck do you think you are?
I live in ohio and thought netflix was doing some trickery.
Not gonna lie, I broke my nofap to a couple of episodes
The amount of unnecessary boob in the whole show is unsettling.
>270replies/84posters
even Yea Forums shills are inferior to /pol/ shills
Discord trannies have to shill extra for this show because it hits all their goodgoypoints checkboxes
>Sonnie the Edgehog
>muh agendas
I knew it, you're the kind of person who sees fiction as public speeches and education and you vehemently refuse to enjoy anything that has a perceived hint of something you disagree with, even if it's completely imaginary like it most certainly is with this show. I won't open that can of worms because I've been down this road before and I know there's literally nothing I can say to make you believe otherwise, so I'm just gonna address your real arguments.
>done to death twists
None of the episodes relied on twists, they were just the cherry on top at the end of an episode so their quality is basically irrelevant as criticism of the OVERALL writing, at least in most cases. As an example, the twist that the farmers were in space all along basically added nothing to the story yet it was an enjoyable extra bit of information right at the end to wrap up the plot. Were some of them predictable? Yes. Did that fact detract from the experience? No. Simple as that.
>cringeworthy dialogue
This is wrong for most episodes since the dialogue is what lifts the piece in the first place for a lot of them, like the shitty one with the vampires that was actually not even shitty by the end just because the bantz was top notch. And I know what you have in mind here is Sonnie's Edge but no, that dialogue is not cringe either. Main character literally says later on that the sassy black chick is an idiot who just sees what she wants to see. Irony amirite.
>shock value
I really don't know what you mean here, since if I'm right, your perceived shock value is the actual entire plot in most episodes and that's just downright unfair criticism when it's the whole point. Hell, one gaze at the trailer is enough to tell you what kind of show it's going to be, and blaming it for being just that is lol.
>speaking in memes
Not when trying to prove that what you just watched is shit, c'mon.
This would have been so much better. I actually liked the story from the point that Sonnie gets her face impaled on, but everything before that made it feel like feminist fan fiction.
>jeremie perin
nice. Also i hope his studio produces something akin to lastman for the next installment of LD+R.
>Zimba Blue
How did he go from Robot > Human > Robot ? Makes no fucking sense.
No, it was based.
Was it supposed to be a Mirkin though or did it just look like one due to the art style? Fuck me this episode looked good.
>muh agendas
Yeah when the episodes flow stops for a minute long rant about le stupid men it’s retarded and ham fisted
>done to death twists
Yes the are criticizable and they were transparent and worthless. In these sorts of films they are the punchline and neither they or the set up were worth the effort
>cringeworthy dialogue
This is write as major plot or character information is just blatantly said about or by a charector to other characters. With the art being as good as it was it’s a damn shame they didn’t use any of it to tell a visual story 80% of the time
>shock value
Titties, ass and pen0s in the show for no other reason than “look how cool and mature we are. We have coochie in a cartoon!” It never served in other purpose than gratuitous fan service
>speaking in memes
Please go back to your discord
good thing it had plenty of dick and man ass for you, faggot
Which episode would be the best video game adaptation?
kek, did this last night on accident and fuck it was an experience
Animatrix > LDR
Lucky 13
Obviously Secret War since it's been done twice. Arguably.
theres no point talking about a merkin when the entire medium is computer generated
the whole thing is a merkin
>Titties, ass and pen0s in the show for no other reason than “look how cool and mature we are. We have coochie in a cartoon!” It never served in other purpose than gratuitous fan service
You are correct on every point except this. In Beyond the Aquila Rift, the sex scene was necessary or at least useful in setting up the reveal. It wouldn't have hit as hard otherwise. Every other instance was dumb, although I didn't hate it in the Witness because that short was all style and didn't even pretend to have substance.
suits, obviously, because it already looks like a fucking mobile game
>Feminism pandering provably, objectivity makes an adaptation worse
Whoever could have seen this coming? I’m shocked, shocked I say, that this agenda did not have the best in mind for artistic merit.
>Nudity BAD
>Violence GOOD
fucking amerifats
>the stupid evil men rant
I already addressed this with my Sonnie's Edge example, it's not the writer virtue signalling, it's the writer writing a purposefully dumb character. How can I tell the difference? Because she's called retarded by the end of the episode, albeit indirectly. And even if that wasn't the case, that rant still had a purpose in the first place to make the people and the audience believe that that is the real Sonnie's Edge, when it's really not.
>twists
Dude you're just saying the same thing again with different words. I even gave an example of why they shouldn't be considered the punchline for most episodes, except for shit like the Witness since it wholly relies on that twist to finish the loop. And the thing is even if you were right, twists are still not the main point of the episodes, but the visual spectacle. The whole charm behind Witness is the art for example, because it sure as fuck isn't watching a mostly nude woman run around for 8 minutes for a semi-predictable twist.
>visual story
Good point. The ones that tried kinda failed, like I still don't know what the fuck Fish Night was supposed to be about. Though I still think the 10-20 minute format of the episodes made the writing shine, because none of the runtime was forced to go through half an hour of dumb exposition for something that isn't even related to the plot just to pad it out for an arbitrary quota. Lucky 13 is a perfect example of this: we don't know who they're fighting, why they're fighting, and that's the best part because it's completely irrelevant to the plot about the bond between a pilot and her ship.
>tits and dicks
kek yeah it kinda became a recurring thing. In some episodes it definitely seemed forced like Good Hunting, but in others it felt natural like the one with the shapeshifters. So I really don't know what to say about this one.
>discord
But I'm straight.
Nudity is inherently distracting; Violence is inherently proactive.
Can you see why somebody would prefer one in a story and not the other?
lol it felt like I was watching something written by a Asian Masculinity redditfag bitter about asian chicks getting bleached.
Yeah, we call them terrorists.
what?
People who prefer violence to nudity.
I actually don’t mind anthology episodes being hit or miss, for me that is part of the experience. It kind of enhances the episodes that are good which then let you forget the bad ones, this way anthologies pass the fridge test.
Where are you from? I know it isn't Iceland because they abort all their down syndrome babies.
You're so out of arguments already that you need a country to shit on, lardass?
You started by shitting on America, so I had more arguments than you did you koala brained nigger
>Nudity is inherently distracting
to amerifats, yeah
Good Hunting, Suits, and Three Robots need their own shows, period.
Three Robots was reddit-tier. So embarrassing to watch.
It was just slice of life.
The ending really ruined it though.
An overwhelming amount of research into marketing techniques, as well as thousands of years of conventional wisdom, would say that it is distracting to everyone.
But hey, you discord trannies probably know better, after all why else would you want to mutilate perfectly functional genitalia
nudity is inherently ATTRACTING not distracting
its called sex appeal and its been used to draw attention for thousands of years as you mentioned
Way to enforce the idea that americans are fucking idiots. I didn't shit on america I shat on idiots like you who are so puritanical they think violence is preferable to nudity.
I actually did wanted to see pussy, but saw none.
Saw woman with fuzzy bush dancing, but no pussy.
Wow, so ris·qué?
No. Not at all. Nice try at being "adult", but netflix can show tons of dicks, but is apparently scare of female genitalia.
Everybody's scared of pussy.
LOL SO RANDUM LE YOGHURT BECOMES SENTIENT XDD CAN'T WAIT TO READ ABOUT THIS ON REDDIT XXD
Good Hunting had a bunch of pussy though..
Does everyone just suck off Good Hunting because of their robo furry waifu? Its Sonnie's Edge from the other side of the spectrum. Should have been him and his dad hunting Asian folklore beasts
especially when you get based Maurice Lemarche to narrate
>shape shifters -- 2/10 - This felt way out of place in this lineup. Big fail on a serious take.
It was a metaphor for gays in the military
NEW THREAD:
When you post like that you don’t actually show that your subject is bad just that your posts are shit you know
in a story, it is. I'd love to hear how nudity is better than violence in narrative media. Just go watch porn you retard and stop pretending like I'm trying to ban nipples when all I ever wanted was for the creators to spend less time figuring out jiggle physics and more time making their shit more watchable.
thats a shitty take there, friend. "reddit-tier" as an idea is subjective.
>better
>narrative media
>nudity = porn
>spend less time figuring out jiggle physics and more time making their shit more watchable
So much wrong with one tiny little post. But know this. You're wrong. Wrong that the argument was ever that one was better than the other and wrong that violence is better than nudity. Wrong that video is necessarily a narrative medium. Wrong that nudity is pornographic just because you can't help wrongthink about screwing a pretty lady just because you saw a nipple and wrong that the people in charge of jiggle physics are in charge of everything else. I just hope you'll realize it some day. Or that maybe you'll seek help before you decide to take an M16 to a park and open fire on random people to the sound of Mendessohn's Spring Song
Oh man you weren't kidding when you called me a terrorist. It must suck being such a coward that you automatically assume everybody you disagree with is a potential mass shooter. I'm sorry for the mental trauma this is going to cause, but I'm not wrong. You stating it over and over again without ever actually backing anything up doesn't change it, and your need for validation here is pretty pathetic. A little advice, if you stop jumping to conclusions about what others are thinking you won't panic about their motives so much
