It's not terrible, but it was rushed and could have been much better. It's worth watching if you liked the 4th one since it follows the same protagonist. If you didn't like any of the other movies you should skip it.

Freddy's Revenge is the best Nightmare and you can't change my mind.

I'm inclined to agree. It doesn't fall victim to the "let's kill off the survivors from the last movie to show Freddy means BUSINESS this time" cliche which got annoying because they kept doing it, and it tends to stick closer to the more surreal feel of the first film rather than trying to make up some kind of real rules about how Freddy functions.
The only bit where it falters is when Freddy attacks the pool party, because any time a slasher villain attacks a whole group of people rather than stalking an individual, it stops being as effective.
Ryan Peterson
Fucking kino.
Elijah King
>Is the fifth movie any good?
the story was cfeated by a woman and, SURPRISE, it's about pregnancy and is the 2nd worst after Freddy's Dead.
1>3>4>2>5>6!!!FACT!!!

After the HUGE success of part 4, Robert Shaye fucked up 5 by hiring that fucking HACK Stephen Hopkins, only later to fuck up again by hiring him to Direct Lost In Space.
Shaye had two choices; he could have tried to top 4's carnival feel by hiring Sam Raimi OR he could have scaled it back and hired someone more suited to moody atmospheric Horror in which case Don Coscarelli (Phantasm 1&2) would have ideal.
Either would have made a better movie that cunt Hopkins!!!FACT!!!

That's probably exactly how'd I'd rank the Freddy films too. I'd probably put A New Nightmare somewhere above 2. Can't decide ifI'd put it between 3 and 4 or between 4 and 2.
Camden Morales
>Kino, Ronny Yu needs to make another slasher reboot
Yu should make a Marvel movie. He's do a great job!!!FACT!!!

Imagine basing your opinion on what the internet tells you. Pathetic.

Posted to say the same thing. That was my favorite part of the film. It was effective in 2 because it was just what the fuck holy shit, and not thrill kill for the money shots like it usually is in such cases.
Conveying the sheer fright and panic response, and the utter bewilderment of not understanding what happened, who this angry faggot is and what he's doing and how he suddenly appeared and disappeared so dramatically, was extremely fucking effective.

I’m guessing you would prefer he directed that Shang-Chi movie instead of the Brie Larson nepotism director.

What do you guys think of Englund's idea for Freddy to be different to everyone who sees him in their dreams?
>“If I had an Eli Roth budget I would have cast different actors to play Freddy for every potential victim,” Englund explained his creative idea. “Because Freddy is only alive in the imagination of his future victim. They would talk about it at a slumber party or in a locker room at school, or on the bus going home. All we know about this Fred Krueger is he wears a hat, wears a red and green striped sweater and has a clawed hand. That’s the specifics.”
>He continued, “So it could be a red and green cardigan for one Freddy. It could be an old tattered baseball cap for another Freddy. Freddy could be tall, he could be short, he could be overweight, he could be muscular. Every one of the victims could have a different Freddy they imagined. And you could haunt them with that Freddy.”
>“And then at the end, it would be the ultimate victim and we see Freddy peel [his face] open and maybe it’s yours truly revealed. And it’s the essence of Freddy.”
Evan Barnes
>I’m guessing you would prefer he directed that Shang-Chi movie instead of the Brie Larson nepotism director.
Didn't think of that but it would be a FUCKING FANTASTIC idea. I can't believe how that fucking disgusting basic bitch now has the power to get her friends Directing jobs. She must have serious dirt on some powerful people to be getting this sort of special treatment, I mean, (((Hollywood))) has been shilling her since she was a child.....!!!FACT!!!

I'd like to see a NOES movie where Freddy uses peoples subconscious fears to turn them against each other and have them do the killing. Something a bit more psychological would be interesting. Imagine he was fiddling with teens minds, both jocks and nerds, and he managed to inspire a Columbine style massacre!!!FACT!!!
Jackson Myers
Sounds great if they could find the right actors.
Connor Price
I liked 5 and it's the only Nightmare film which has an unrated cut commercially released (which sadly is only on VHS as none of the DVDs for 5 have the uncut version, just the R-Rated version).
Andrew Diaz
That defeats the whole purpose of the character. Freddy doesn't do subtle shit; he's a fucking tank in how he strikes his victims.
And unlike Jason or Michael Meyers, he gets in his victims faces with what they fear the most right off the bat, to shock and disorrient them so that he can then run them through with his claw or worse.
Sebastian Adams
I’d like a NOES tv series that could give the characters more time to develop. It would also be cool to see more dream sequences where the characters survive and are just terrorized by Freddy, it would really help build the tension if you weren’t sure a character was gonna die while they’re dreaming.
Blake Brown
elm street is kino but I'm fucking sick of this post
