Why exactly do you dislike captain marvel? Went to see it last night and i enjoyed it a lot. Some of the few gripes i have is they should have done this movie in two parts and had it after avengers. The stiff acting from brie was annoying at times but the personality from the rest of the cast helped out a lot. Easily an 8/10 film worthy of the MCU title.
Why exactly do you dislike captain marvel? Went to see it last night and i enjoyed it a lot...
thanks for sharing your opinion on 4channel!
thanks for the bump. I'm also aware of the shit brie larson said and i don't find it relevant to the movie. She's just an actress being a dumbass, doesn't mean someone should hate in a movie because of one person.
It is a dumb, badly made movie. The SJW feminism is just another reason to dislike it.
you can't even explain why it's a badly made movie. You just are bandwagoning on the hate.
>The stiff acting from brie was annoying at times but the personality from the rest of the cast helped out a lot.
You say that like it's a little detail but it's actually a grave flaw. Thor was one of the least liked OG avengers for that very reason, and the actor was prepared to walk away before they slightly retconned his character in Ragnarok.
These actors, and their respective characters, are expected to carry not only their own movie, but the entire franchise.
i'm the guy you're responding to.
i hate the movie without having seen it. i hate it because it's craps designed for mass consumption. like every other mcu flick, it's the cinematic equivalent of a generic "artisanal" burger with a quickly and cheaply made, flashily branded "craft" ipa. it's a film for kids and suckers and no one else. i hate it because it's part of a trend i hate. i hate it because it's fodder for trolls and it's a hill for freelance sjw's to die on. it's a piece of cultural retardation with new merit and no cause for discussion beyond the manufactured controversy. i hate it and i hate you. truly.
My mom is probably going to love it. She ejoys Agents of SHIELD a lot and this was just an oversized episode of it.
>movies are products for mass consumption
ofc they're
To be fair, it's very lacking in the writing department... You don't feel any reason to "connect" with the main character, there isn't any plot to get invested in, the main character feels shallow and without any reason to be, there's no character development, and the action scenes don't feel exciting, since the main character never feels in danger thanks to her fucked up superpowers.
When I finished the movie I felt like I could've done nothing in the past 2 hours and accomplish more than what I just did.
It's a really meh movie, I give it a 4.5/10, since 5 is just plain meh.
it isn't a grave flaw it's a small issue that can be taken care of by the director communicating better next time. The rest of the aliens and characters were more interesting anyway. It seems like a side shield story tv special and i enjoyed it. But then again i'm not a white male so i guess i don't understand your issues.
really good post
>But then again i'm not a white male so i guess i don't understand your issues.
Neither am I, but I'm also not a discord tranny so I can't understand your lack of taste and inclinations for self-mutilation
>it isn't a grave flaw it's a small issue that can be taken care of by the director communicating better next time
Those types of directors are rare. You think any dumb fuck such as yourself can make a movie with a strong sense of vision, style or message, which Captain Dyke clearly lacks?
>The rest of the aliens and characters were more interesting anyway
Those aren't the main attractions of any Avengers ensamble movie, the main heroes are, and Brie Larson has the face and charisma of a foot.
The movie is not good or bad, it's just bland. The story and characters are not interesting. It would have been more interesting if e.g. Carol tried to reach out for her long-lost family, or if she actually had to work out to master her powers.
The Kree costumes and Srull makeup are cheap as fuck and the worse ever seen in the MCU.
Brie Larson has no charisma at all, she's like a stressed middle-age lady with no children who tries to pretend to be cool.
>movies are products for mass consumption
No, blockbuster movies are, and blockbuster/tentpole movies weren't always the norm.
>yourself can make a movie with a strong sense of vision
funny you should say that since i have directed 3 films and 2 plays. It's great when irony takes care of any doubt.
>i have directed 3 films and 2 plays.
Post names and proof so we can all judge the quality of your work.
i liked it, i also think brie is cute and have tons of sex.
I don't care about the flick, so I'll answer from a Yea Forums perspective. She's a boring character with nothing to offer. My favorite character has always been Iron Man. Why? Because he was competent enough to be a "power fantasy", a guy I wanted to be, but he also had flaws and limitations that made him interesting. He was rich and a great engineer, sure. But he wasn't an omniscientist that had extensive knowledge on everything, from Chemistry to Ancient History. He wasn't some Top 5 fighter. He wasn't built like a tank, meant to be gorgeous without compare or had an 8" dick. He was an alcoholic, he was insecure, he had control issues, and made tough choices on the regular. He got dumped on, lost his company, and so on and so forth. All of these were flaws. But he also had his strengths, and upon drawing from them he managed to rise from the pits and do his job. He got knocked down and got back up again every time.
Now what is Carol? She was a nobody with self-esteem issues who became an alcoholic murder-slut for a while. And then she went back to her roots of being a "perfect heroine". She's supposed to be beautiful. She's uber-powerful and now can hang with Thanos (canon in the books too). She's uber-competent and heads the modern version of SWORD. She's respected and liked and adore. She does only good and everyone accepts it. So what's there to find interesting about Carl Manvers? She only worked as fapbait, and there are tons more comic babes to wank it over.
Hell, compare her with most characters, and you'll see how much she's lacking in personality, character, quality of stories, and so on and so forth. She's a literal nobody propelled into stardom, without the legs for it all to stand on.
have sex
I don't need 4channers judging my work or choice in themes. It's enough for me just to know that Yea Forums is still full of the childish assumers that made this place what it was from the start.
it's just not that good, her powers aren't interesting and her acting is absolutely atrocious, every quip she said not a single person in the theatre laughed and this was coming from normies mind you
That being said it was just OK as far as capeshit is concerned
My main gripe with it though isn't the whole feminist angle and it isn't about Brie seeming like an idiot, it's just timing
I'd be mad regardless of what hero they introduced at this point to shoehorn into what is essentially the climax of a cinematic universe that has been going on for a decade, the character will add no emotional pay off or catharsis whatsoever, they will simply get in the way of the end arcs of all these characters and very possibly deus ex machina the entire conclusion ruining 10 years of fucking movies
I don't care if they had introduced Nova, The Sentry or fucking Moon Knight, you can't just introduce a character mid ending and expect to to care about them
it's like the fucking sage of the six paths and Kaguya showing up at the end of Naruto, it's fucking bullshit, should have just been Madara and that's it but no he had to shove in two extra characters and their entire fucking back stories MID CONCLUSION, THAT SHIT DOESN'T FUCKING WORK
>Why exactly do you dislike captain marvel?
Acting is terrible. MC has charisma of a potato.
You tried to discredit my criticism by waving me off as a "white male" and now you complain about assumptions? What was that about irony? Jajajaja
>worthy of the MCU title.
See... that right there is the problem. MCU movies are worthless. All of them.
The MCU movies are like a joke that´s become less and less fun with every movie. At first it was alright because most super hero movies didn´t even respect the character´s escense so seeing that the seemed to care was kind of good... but after 21 movies where only 2 or 3 actually push the characters to grow in any way, that has only proven that the standard was just fucking low.
Honestly stuff like Sin City, Watchmen or the 2 Tim Burton Batman movies are far more interesting than anything the MCU has ever offered.
Can’t stand brie Larson and feminism is a cult for low IQ retards, like islam but with more vagina and reliance on white men.
>I don't care if they had introduced Nova, The Sentry or fucking Moon Knight
Fuck even that wouldn't been better because those characters are actually liked. Who the fuck likes Captain Marvel? Disney tried to create hype when there wasn't any to begin with.
Chad evans and Samuel l Jackson are Just as annoying as Brie
It's capeshit, so fuck off your low IQ mongoloid.
She exists solely to be a dumb feminist dyke. Same reason an 85 pound so y drinking faggot wouldn't watch "red meat eating AR15 man" if it was played with a straight face.
She is a fake, forced product nobody cares about.
>the plot was mediocre
>the cgi was poor and distracting especially that agent whatever w/ fury
>the villains was cardboard cut-outs and the muh refugee subplot was underwhelming
>bries wooden acting bland and had to be carried by everyone and a cat
>99% of the quips missed and was BvS / TLJ tier
>it looked like cap marvel had 3 separate personalities (an ironman, a thor, and a starlord one) that was switching in and out randomly and didn't really help
>they breezed over cap marvels characterization so fast that when she had her big moment with the neck thing no one in the theater cared
4/10 thank god my girl is the best and got us free tickets because I'd be pissed if I had to pay
The best thing the MCU can do with Ms. Marvel is introduce Rogue as soon as possible and have her absorb Danvers' powers and either kill her off or put her in a coma and shelve the character. That's it.
>me an intellectual: the post
This triggers the corporate sjw cocksuckers
Evil intergalactic space conquerors are now sympathetic refugees because fuck Trump. That's why.
>artwork always has CM smiling and looking actually like a hero
>brie refuses to smile because muh patriarchy
I would be able to tolerate this shitshow much more if brie wasn't a fucking anti happiness grinch
>Why exactly do you dislike captain marvel?
She's a cunt. Here's some female characters in the MCU that are all well-liked, even though a few of them can sometimes be cunty-
>Wanda
>Mantis
>Gamora
>Wasp
>Nebula
>Widow
>Why exactly do you dislike captain marvel?
Not someone I'd like to see people become if they had the opportunity.
Cast Rogue as some mutt woman that looks white enough to not butcher the character's look but ethnic enough to where she has more victim points than foot fungus and they won't even be able to criticize it.
Can she absorb non mutant powers?
You chimps are fucking insufferable.
It's 6/10 at best. Not a bad movie but it's nothing spectacular. All the MCU movies are constrained by a formula but in Phase 3 it seems like Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Homecoming were allowed more creative freedom. Captain Marvel feels like a return to Phase 1. Also, Larson's acting was really bad and took me out of parts of the movie because Carol was all over the map. I don't like Captain Marvel as a character in the comics because she's borderline fascist in every big crossover event. She allied with the government during Civil War 1, she was okay with locking people up with Civil War 2 for crimes they hadn't committed, and she beat up her friend Spiderwoman in front of her daughter for not complying with the government.
user suggested Rogue because that's what happened in comics, and why Rogue had super-strength and flight for years.
It's a superhero movie
It's slightly more boring and with a more forgettable character than your average superhero movie (somehow)
So there's 2 reasons
Also your description does not fucking fit an 8/10 score
your writing style irritates me
>The main character sucked, so the supporting cast did all the work.
Gee, I wonder why people don't like it.
formerly Yea Forums
She is a company mascot, which is lame as fuck
This is exactly why I'm done with the MCU and why I'm satisfied with ending the story with the snap. Bringing in some new hero to help out the ones we've grown attached to at this stage of the game is plain bad storytelling and I'd rather they all stay dead.
Because I'm not a retarded Western cuck who is gonna shill out his own hard earned money to pay for a movie made by a crew which literally hates me for being a while male. Basically a matter of honor, something you pathetic Western wiggers and niggers never heard of.
I'm sorry, but when did she say she hates white men? I remember she called for more diversity in film production and film criticism, but I missed the part about hating people.
It has nothing to do with being white or male and everything to do with you being a shitty person.
>inb4 memes
From what I've seen, the people who did like it generally see entertainment as a time to turn off their brains and enjoy the lights, sounds, and people moving around on screen.
For anyone who enjoys paying attention during their entertainment, there's just way too much in the way of inconsistencies, bad jokes, unanswered questions, and various other dimensions of poor writing and direction.
The people who say "it was a great, they're just bandwagoning" are either lying and bandwagoning themselves, place value disproportionately on identity (yay women!), or truly don't notice what is glaring and terrible to others.
>people who....see entertainment as a time to turn off their brains
This is the core MCU audience, and they're a big group by now. The mouse can always count on this crowd to show up for their tripe.
Hello tranny shill
Projection at its finest.
>Easily an 8/10 film
The absolute state of anything
Mmmm .... this whole notion on both DC & MCU is program pictures that once was. Providing good at cineplex is their task has been done well. Soooo just go to see them at your own risk. They just ain’t your next “Steel Magnolia”. (笑´・艸・)
