Disclaimer: if you haven't seen this film, and you like noir, do yourself a favour and instantly stop reading this thread and go watch it. You won't regret it.
I did not expect a bunch of what happens in this movie. I thought it was highly enjoyable: cool soundtrack, great direction, awesome sets, delightful acting from Rourke.
Found the script! Do you guys read scripts to movies you've enjoyed and want to enjoy again differently? I've only done that with Garden State (was cool to see I had guessed the unseen the father killed the mother, which they removed from the film because, I guess, it was too fucking dark compared to the rest of the movie; but you can still stop the darkness from how the father is presented sometimes and Lost Highway.
A man can dream. All I need is just ONE other person who saw and liked this film and we can have a fun thread, so it's not that crazy. I'm a believer. I'm tired of incels, autists, and psychopaths; I long for kinoconoisseurs.

Watched this last year back to back with lord of illusions Kino double feature
Kevin Baker
Yea Forums is worst board. Love Angel heart
Daniel Powell
>lord of illusions I don't know this one.
Based user. Stick around.
Brody Bell
How can you blame him? He didn't know. Did nothing wrong.
Isaac Johnson
Watch it. Its Clive Barker kino. Has peak famke Janssen
Sebastian King
He knew. Everything I found odd in the movie, at first, when I think about it again, it all makes so much sense.
Dude's fucking rude as fuck, dude's almost raping this doctor! Dude's kinda intrusive and creepy, guess he's just a cool bro type. Turns out all of that stuff was way more significant. Utter kino.
Julian Murphy
Is that tommy Chong’s daughter?
Ryan Rodriguez
It's Lisa Bonet. I don't know who her daddy is and since she's black, she probably doesn't either.
Just breaking balls.
Juan Garcia
No more interest than that? Well then, I guess it's time to say the unavoidable:
Watch it: files (dot) fm (slash) u (slash) va9wc75p
Jaxon Bell
Movie is boss. Really good. Saw it thirty plus years ago.
>The Changeling on top If that's the 70's one, that's patrician-tier. I adore that movie, and the main actor.
Jonathan Morgan
I actually saw this at the cinema when I was a teenager (had managed to convince my friends to watch this instead of some comedy with Adam Sandler). They didn't like it, and I don't remember much of it.
They are no longer my friends.
Robert King
>thread about a movie on Yea Forums >it 404's at 23 replies
I hate this place.
James Allen
De Niro's acting was hilariously cringe. One of the fucking worst devil performances ever.
It's not the worst, in my opinion: the worst was how there was zero subtlety in his character, though through no fault of his own.
>Louis Cyphre >has long nails >has a ring with a pentagram on it >leaves heavy clues about who he is
It makes more sense at the end but still. I don't understand why they couldn't be a little more subtle about this character. The only stain on this kino.
Zachary Torres
>boner activated >jungle fever confirmed
Leo Perry
What's with the fans changing directions? He uses it often.
Nicholas Sullivan
Good question. I think the fans are in many places and probably remind you of the gearworks that take Johnny to hell at the end, but I'm not sure that's the intention.
Oh, I remember.
There was a fan in Brookley where Johnny killed Harold and ate his heart, it's one of the last things Johnny remembers.
Ryan Young
>Brooklyn I meant. That picture shows often.
Angel Walker
>mfw a britbong director made two of the best, comfy but fucked up movies about the U.S. South. Howbowdah?
I think that was something good about it. If someone is evil, there is always a tell; it's just that we try to ignore the tells
Thomas Taylor
This is true. In hindsight, you could know.
But the nails and pentagram and all the rest were too much at first.
So why does the devil need to mess with him? How come he doesn't just fuck him up right there and take him? Is it one of those movies that only work until you start thinking about it?
Tyler Scott
Because Yea Forums is apparently a /pol/ sub board now
Christian White
The whole website is that. And it's pure mental illness once you start analysing this.
She crystalises their fears and insecurities, so they feel compelled to react to her, otherwise they'd have to realise what the problem really is, and that it isn't her.
It's pure psychosis.
Lincoln Ortiz
>So why does the devil need to mess with him? Why does a cat like to toy with a mouse before it eats it?
Adrian Wood
Because cats train and study mice that way. Wha about Lou?
If that's the motive, that's so damn fucked. Pretty bleak flick.
Brandon Cox
Saw a lot of dark films are that age. Parents worked until late so I baby sat myself with vhs tapes and porn tapes.
Henry Nguyen
That's fucked up.

Remember A Chinese horror about a ghost who possesses a guys wife and have sex with him. Life force and raw head Rex were other favs. Maniac with Chuck Norris and Cobra. Rambo one and two. Invasion USA. Delta Force. Loved the shit out of Gorky Park. Watched that when I was 11.
Eli Smith
Neighbors daughter was Chinese. Learned early of the joys of a girl farting in my mouth. One dark night was a bit too much for me though.
Bentley Long
Gorky park was splendid.
Julian Bailey
This one was a wild ride. Love the movie but I watch it rarely.
Leo Wilson
Saw it fifty times when I was 12. Then not again for thirty plus years.
Ryan Barnes
It made a "nice" setting, other than a nice story.
Jason Bailey
The setting was great. The story, not so much. Atmospheric film though like really really creepy.
Ethan Robinson
>how is new orleans worse? 1. 18 used to be the legal drinking age limit, now it's 21 2. Historical confederate statues torn down because libtard hypocrites, none of whom are addressing that most violence down their is perpetrated by blacks against whites and other blacks and the destroying of historical artifacts has done nothing 3. Shootouts on bourbon street was never a thing until now 4. City has poor as fuck management, constantly rebuilding shit that never gets fixed right on bourbon street which is a major tourist distraction and business killer. 5. Homeless junkie population has risen dramatically
The non-criminals are still very nice, the new orleans mall feels like every other galleria type mall. Didn't have the decadent coolness of jackson brewery back in the day and the french market is a fragment of what it once was and i never gave a shit about cafe du monde, overrated as fuck.
