Considering what happened with the heartbreaking Pacific Rim sequel, I'm beginning to doubt if i want a sequel at all. A sequel with no returning actors, lower budget due to the first movie's slim box office profit and different crew would be a disaster.
Hollywood studios tend to be a mix of cowardly and delusional, if the old sony pictures email leaks are any indication. Rather than further sharpening the fine blade's edge they might whip out a cheap butterknife.

I always felt like Avatar was basically a tech demo that unexpectedly became a runaway hit. I remember an interview with Cameron from 2010-2011ish where he talks about digging out the old Avatar treatment and how it was nothing special, but good enough to work with for what they wanted to do.

No, the Avatar sequels are going to be superior to the original in every single way and they will blow people away again, but they won't have even 1/10th of Alita's soul, and they're not Jim's true passion. There's no reason why he couldn't have directed an Alita trilogy and made it every bit as visually stunning as Avatar. I think he just pussied out because he thought weebshit wouldn't go well with general audiences and he's too afraid to sully his perfect record so he handed Alita over to Rodriguez under the pretense of being busy. Manga has enough material for three trilogies. BAA trilogy, BAA: LO trilogy and BAA: MC trilogy in its finished form. Jim could have even brought Kishiro on the team as the head writer so he could unfuck his story and iron out all the retarded parts. It had the potential to become the next Star Wars, especially with Star Wars being so gay and retarded now.

So I finally managed to see Alita.
I liked it. Performances are solid, Alita is likeable as fuck and visuals are gorgeous.
My only problems would be some story developments. They "kill" Hugo, only to revive him, give him cyborg body and then kill him again. This whole plot was pointless. First act goes a bit too fast, and sequelbaiting is obnoxious.
But overall I had fun in the cinema. Really solid movie.

Well luckily, some of this can be fixed. First is getting some kind of work. Idk if you're living at home but snagging a full time job to save will be the fastest and only way to get out of the hole. Also, showing you can support yourself is arguably the best way to entice a girl. You will feel better about yourself and more confident and that attitude is infectious, to potential gfs or even just friends. I'm not sure what you can do about tendonitis. I play guitar a lot but thankfully haven't had to deal with any physical issues. I'm sure it's not appealing to look for work that's unrelated to your schooling but sometimes you've gotta do what you have to. You can get out of it user. Just don't see everything as this behemoth problem because it'll stress you out and sap your drive.
I had to move back in with my folks after my marriage sort of hit a breaking point in Oct. Still married, but separated. We saved and moved 2 states away to a state I've been dreaming about for years and now I've got to start over again, alone.

But in general, the whole line with a month of training is stupid. Grevish would not wait a month.
Nova would not have waited a month.
Hugo would have his brain turned on in a month + full access to maintenance.
So the movie is better.
