remember when we used to get timeless films that we're gonna rewatch now and then for the rest of our lives? its a shame they'll never make movies like that again

Never say never. 40 years time will see a rebirth of the entire collection of film genres. Kino's on the way, but you'll be old af
since last few years they push politics so much that these movies will be worthless once trends change (again)
meanwhile some movies will be timeless. Gladiator is one of them
BvS
you mean like the remake of Disneys into live action films?
Filmmaking is increasingly algorithmised, for the sake of box office.
fucking liberals
>fucking liberals
what point are you trying to make? that the everyone who shares some liberal political view is involved with RT reviews for Gladiator?
>Gladiator was the favorite movie of my grandma
>we watched it together like 4 times throughout the years
>tfw every time I try to re-watch it I have to stop because it feels like something is missing
It was the last film I saw with my parents at the cinema, I took them to treat them to a night out, they're still alive but it's like the end of an era when you stop doing stuff with the people who raised you.
it was only her favorite movie because she got to watch it with her grand son
lmao what does rt have to do with liberals, brainlet?
I mean a paradigm shift to genres unimaginable at this point in the timeline. I've said too much though. I must away.
76% ??????????????????????????????????????????
WTF???????????????????????????
A rinkle in time has like 90%+ omg
>have watched Gladiator tons of times
>during the final year of High School it was one of the films we watched close to the Summer
>still put it on to remember the feeling of optimism, the warm midday sun, and the cute blonde whose name I cannot remember
Where did everything go so wrong?
>white hetero male protagonist
>token black sidekick
This did not age well
thank you for your gift to us
>being this triggered by some low-quality ratings system on the world wide web
get fucking life, jesus christ
>Where did everything go so wrong?
after
>the final year of High School
Why'd you stop? I take my mum out to see classic film re-releases, Alien came out for its 40th anniversary a couple of weeks ago, and The Great Escape has a 75th anniversary showing next week
yo what the fuck
Plebs are so embarrassing.
Gladiator fucking sucks
Things started getting bad throughout all of High School. But still, I had an inkling of hope. Now? Now everything's fucked. And I run around like a mad bastard, trying to fix things. All because I did my best, my whole life, to be a good, obedient son. But nothing was ever enough. And Hell, what good did it do me? Nothing. Everything that's wrong now, is the result of their actions. And they have the gall, to complain to me!
Whose dreaming anymore? Who is actually coming up with great script ideas and movie plots as opposed to fucking around on their phones or playing Fortnite or for reason, stands up to bust out the floss dance? Who actually is using their imagination anymore?
And even if you did strike lightning, the industry grinds you and bogs you with not only limitations, but with expectations and agenda driven demands. They wan cookie cutter assembly line shit to crap out on time and under budget and to satiate the palattes of non-American audiences. This isnwhy capeshitngets thebforefront because its simplistic dialogue, quips, "you're bad, I'm good, we fight" scenarios with no stakes and mindless explosions with particle effects.
Make your own media or a movie you want to see. Who cares if it sucks? It will be kino to you, the ONLY audience member that matters.
YOU ARE IN ELYSIUM, AND ARE ALREADY DEAD
A cihcken in every pot, a nigger in every movie
I think it's your grandma who is missing user, but I can be wrong, still I would check it if I were you.
Different tastes. My parents wouldn't be interested in most of what I like, definitely not alien. Although I did see it on the big screen for the 25th anniversary.
Rewatched Kingdom of Heaven a few days ago. Looks like I'll have to rewatch this one as well. I'm thinking of adding Troy to the list too.
Seriously I can't think off the top of my head any movies in the last 8 years that are amazing in the same way as stuff like gladiator, the matrix, fight club etc.
based grandma though, patrician taste
