I watched this back when I was 16 and overheard people in school talking about it constantly.
I never had any real friends in high school, never had texted anyone, never done something outside of school etc. etc. This show made me realise all that and then I was depressed

Cook last season arc was KINO

I don't know many other shows that kick started so many film careers, it's interesting seeing the amount of now well-known people who star in it.

from s3e1 to the last glimpse, every scene he was in was fantastic. everyone both deserves and should avoid friends like cook, and thats what makes him great.
i literally cannot watch the final scene of s4 without a tear coming to my eye.

It's pretty good for vicariously experiencing wild late-teen life but it does get increasingly absurd and unbelievable. It's hard to find now with the original music though and it is totally neutered without it.

Its honestly still worth watching. Definitely brings nostalgia blues, but its cheesy and enjoyable

I liked it a lot.
I liked that it wasn't the usual teenage drama, or at least it looked like that if you watched only the first episode.
Then every episode focused on one character and it was overall clever on how the narrative was structured, with the story slightly changed because the story was told through the eyes of the characters, showing how they change. I.E. the Sid episode in the first season made us believe that his father was just an asshole while his mother was alright. Then with the second season we do realize, along with Sid, that his father was caring about him and trying to tell him to grow up while his mother mostly didn't care.
Chris episodes were pretty damn good and the Tony dream episode was kinda daring since it explicitely told us that he dreams of fucking his little sister.
Than the second gen came and it wasn't as good as the first but was saved by Cook which was a great character with a great actor.
Then the third gen and it was mostly an edgier Gossip Girl. Pity.

I haven't seen it but I know what it's about and have seen some scenes. It's what everyone else must of been doing in Secondary School, while I was experiencing The Inbetweeners.

Yeah I liked it, each generation got more unrealistic (not that the first was that realistic) but there were definite moments of familiarity I saw throughout the first two generations at least. Third generation was complete shite, way too much like a yank show. Seems like another show that wouldn't be enjoyable if you weren't a contemporary British teen.

I actually rewatched the first season again not that long ago cause I had some nostalgia for it, and it made me realize that my teen/young 20s years are over and so are the days of me actually having tons of friends and girlfriends and actually dating cute girls is over and never coming back

Yup. Making friends with foreigners is easy there because of the whole "them vs us" mentality thing. The food is great and you can make loads of money as a non-Chinese. I also speak the language so the natives don't really hate me as much as the other "westerners".

Don't get tricked into rewatching them. It's all about nostalgia, the writing is pretty dumb and the plot doesn't make sense.

Season 1 and 2 are some of the finest television ever made.

My life was 1000% more entertaining than Skins, and it really pissed me off because I'd watch that show and they'd party and fuck and it wasn't even close to being as interesting as what I'd been doing the week previously.
