Here's the channel if anyone's interested, best to go into this movie with as little context as possible.
trailer* not channel
>gf and I hanging out a few years back
>huh, Snowtown
>thats that guy with the NSA stuff right?
>lets watch it
>everything is Australian
>butt rape
>dark and oppressive experience
>gf is left visibly saddened at the end
>despite this we were both captivated from start to finish
Id say its pretty kino and I respect what they did with it but its definitely not a good date movie. We still watch kino together.
This looks pretty cool
South Australians are vile creatures.
You should see it
Nothing comes to mind
thought this was a young Brenton
You can't. Snowtown is pretty much as fucked up as it is
Repulsion

It's a real good movie about the shit that went on Down Under during the 90s, real fun too.
If you planned to fug her after it, must have been quite an experience.
>That fucking bathtub scene
The actor who played the psychopath is absolutely amazing. He had that dark charisma down to a tee
Aye. He nailed it and I totally bought his friendly facade.
Reminded me of Trump in some ways.
I live in Adelaide which makes it 100x more unnerving
If yoiu're not memeing, do elaborate.
Were you a kid at the time or?
yeah but I didn't learn about it until i was a teen. really fucking uncomfortable seeing all the places you grew up around all through the movie
Is it really as much of a shithole as it looks in the film?
Damn, that sounds awful but I kinda had a similar experience with an old friend of my dad who was my neighbor and it turned out he was a rapist.. I remember not liking the guy and always having that "something's off" vibe but was never quite sure what, he even invited me to his apartment once and said he wanted to give me something, but I refused due to how scared I was and noped the fuck out of there. Really scary shit.
the northern suburbs are but the city and surrounding suburbs are nice
only under the skin was comparable for me but i bet there's a at least 1 movie set in scottish tenements which is the only place that has as as oppressive an atmosphere as those suburbs of adl
Scum
Martyrs
Visitor Q
because he wanted to nut
I had her fist me afterward. We do the same after our anual screening of Irreversible on our anniversary.
The War Zone directed bu Tim Roth is exceptionally bleak. Another tough watch
Nice
Visitor Q is like that but I just felt like I was watching a subpar porno. Really I just can’t get into dumb quirky Japanese sensibilities they gross me out with their soulless approach to sexuality and violence.
haven’t seen a movie that kept me at the edge of my seat like this did. perfect tone and great acting. probably the movie that disturbed me the most
don’t think it’s adelade in the movie rather some shithole out in the middle of nowhere
The Strange Thing About the Johnsons
it's a 30 minute or so short film you can watch on youtube.
>hates poofs and nonces
>hangs around with a tranny
Absolute state
Wrong. It was shot in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
barry was based though
You're telling me. One of my cousins was in that bank vault.
you remember what happened to him?
Visitor Q was funny as fuck though.
Kill List has that feeling but it goes a bit batshit towards the end.
I really liked that film, tried to read up on the real life happenings to understand why the dude did what he did but couldn't really understand.
Here are some good films for you to watch op:
Swedish: A hole in my heart, lylia 4 ever and a hole in my heart. made by the same director, real good stuff.
you have probably seen most of these but harmony korine has made some uncomfortable kino. gummo, trash humpers, donkey boy etc
ken park is written by harmony and is also uncomfy kino. you see a guy nut and everything!!
i wrote a hole in my heart two times but I meant to also write show me love.
show me love is real good. cunny kino too
>that drive at the end where he leads his bro to his death
kino
Problem Child 2
>Talking about kino with Australian coworkers
>Worked as a firefighter near Snowtown
>One of his m8s girlfriends hasn’t seen it
>They take her out there and play it for her off a laptop in the back of a ute
>Drive around town in the dead of night scaring her shitless
