>JJ Abrams saying the Last Jedi complaints will not affect Episode 9. He also praised Episode 8's script saying he wishes he had directed it therefore he is following in Rian Johnson's vision: screenrant.com/star-wars-backlash-episode-9-jj-abrams/
>Oscar Isaac stating that Episode 9 is very improvised. JJ has given the actors their own decisions on how they want scenes to progress and he doesn't care about pleasing the fans and just wants to make a "fun" movie that isn't stressful with the lore: collider.com/star-wars-episode-9-oscar-isaac-improvisation/
>lmao the entire trilogy is very improvised Just like OP's birth
Matthew Morales
>lmao the entire trilogy is very improvised Lucas helped them back in 2013 with ideas and drawings before they fired him and got JJ. Read the Force Awakens and Last Jedi artbook. Someone was trying to make a full length book on all he pre production but Disney stopped him (trying to find out who he was as he was posted here a while ago but don't know the name).
Pic is the Island where Rey would find Luke meditating. He originally was never meant to abandon the force. They were supposed to team up and go on a journey hunting for ancient Jedi relics.
Sure, The Last Jedi was disappointing but one mistake shouldn't be enough to throw this franchise which has given us so much joy into the trash.
We boycotted Solo and I wish I hadn't because when I saw the DVD it was a great flick. It really felt like a Star Wars movie.
So I'm going to be open minded and have faith in JJ to give us a great ending to the Skywalker saga. For the sake of the franchise that I've loved so dearly for so long I hope the rest of you will give it a fair chance as well.
>We boycotted Solo and I wish I hadn't because when I saw the DVD it was a great flick. It really felt like a Star Wars movie. I am probably the only other person who enjoyed it. Most people hated it due to Lando being pansexual and the Marauder leader being a little girl which is understandable but it by far had the best soundtrack out of the Disney era.
Grayson King
I don’t know about you guys but I plan on watching Episode 9 in theaters.
Anthony Edwards
It's going to do as well as TLJ because I mean... it's Star Wars. We will all fall for the trailer.
Nolan Hill
I never watched a Star Wars movies until 8 was already out. I watched them all from 1-8 and while I was disappointed by the wasted potential of the sequels and Arian Johnson’s rampant faggotry I still look forward to the conclusion of the trilogy. Because I really enjoyed Solo and Rogue One I even have high hopes that 9 might save the trilogy like 3 did the prequels.
Xavier Scott
I don't, whats the point the skywalker story is over and episode 9 is not the last anything, its just another movie nothing special can happen in it by virtue of their's no one left to kill off and its obvious they had no real idea what they wanted to do with the series other than make money
Chase Ward
20 Disney dollars have now been transferred to your accounts.
Aiden Thompson
>FUCK DISNEY AND FUCK STAR WARS EPISODE 9 yeah, because this is going to stop MILLIONS of threads that will be on Yea Forums once the movie is released.
like, who. the. fuck. are you. kidding? this whole "yeah nobody cares about episode 9, we're not gonna watch it" thing is so hilarious.
Henry Gray
>We will all fall for the trailer Honestly, unless it has something like Sheev turning up or Kylo getting an even more Vader-ish costume then I can't see myself getting excited.
Nicholas Williams
That honestly sounds a fuck of a lot better than what we got.
Christopher Hughes
> this level of denial
Ayden Rodriguez
why should we care what hamill thinks? he whines on twitter all day and has horrible ideas. good actor, though.
Andrew Mitchell
>filename What did they mean by this?
Alexander Jackson
Solo was great. Just sucked it came out at a bad time.
Tyler Wood
i feel like disney purposely released it at a bad time to ensure the movie would fail, for whatever reason. they've done it before (princess and the frog, treasure planet).
William Morales
Pretty sure it was J.W. Rinzler. He had a blog as well that went into detail about how Lucasfilm and Skywalker Ranch and how it was structured and whatnot and he was intending to talk about the change over to Disney, but then his blog got pulled. Sadly I don't remember what it was called, but I know it was archived somewhere
Nolan Lewis
If you dont care what hamill thinks you never cares about star wars.
Easton Thompson
if there's one fandom where gatekeeping doesn't work it's star wars. people are just using this old interview from him to validate themselves.
Chase Turner
Only reylos and disney moms shit on mark, so regardless of which you are you can fuck yourself
no one's shitting on him so calm the fuck down before you hurt yourself. i said he's a good actor. that's his job, to act. he said it himself. he's not a director or a scriptwriter and he shouldn't be. his ideas for luke were all wish fulfillment and selfish fanservice. i don't blame him for wanting his ideas to be in the movies but he shouldn't be surprised they didn't just do whatever he wanted.
and you don't really care about what hamill thinks, you only care that he validates your opinion. i'm sure he tweets things on the daily that you disagree with, but you conveniently ignore them.
Jace Davis
Having luke be a kind, wise mentor figure is not "wish fulfilment and selfish fanservice" it's common sense. Jake skywalker the depressed husk was disney going full retard and is completely indefensible from both a storytelling and marketing point of view.
>There was no chance that book was going to be published,” Rinzler tells us. He joined Lucasfilm on October 1, 2001, mid-way through production of Attack of the Clones. He remained there, writing some reference books – including the comprehensive ‘making-of’ books about the original Star Wars and Indiana Jones films – and editing others, until after the sale of the company. “I knew when I started writing it that it would be cancelled… there were a lot of things that were known to the public that I think Disney and Kathleen Kennedy just didn’t want to rehash. This is just speculation on my part, but even stuff like changing the date of the release, that Brad Bird was approached first, that Harrison Ford was almost killed… they were not comfortable with the book rehashing those issues. By rehashing he means mentioning. I saw an archive of his blog, unfortuately he was forced by Disney to shut it down before he got to the juicy parts. It happened after some fucker posted his blog on reddit and the blog disappeared swiftly after. Reddit is the fucking advanced base of Disney.
Gavin Bailey
>why should we care what hamill thinks? he whines on twitter all day and has horrible ideas. good actor, though. Mark is subtle, he deliberatly said he had stupid ideas for the movie to show you that even his bad ideas were still infinitely bette than what we got.
Elijah Walker
The only thing Star Wars-related that I'm interested in at this point is Galaxy's Edge at Disney World, but even that I'm not even going to bother trying to check out for 4-5 years.
Leo Clark
>I was involved with the hiring of the writer for that [Josh Kushins],” Rinzler says. “But I think that the new regime of Disney and Lucasfilm is not interested in serious non-fiction books. I was trying for years to do a book on the art of Indiana Jones, because there’s about 50 tons of stuff in the archives still but they’re not interested in looking into the past at all. These bastard also cancelled the Rogue One book. We will never know about the Gareth Edwards cut.
Evan Ortiz
Good, TLJ was the best Star Wars since Empire.
Grayson Sanders
trailer fucking when?
Mason Jones
he wanted luke to be a perfect badass hero, just like the rest of the salty fans who hated TLJ and love shitty characters like Mara Jade. yeah, it would have made more sense from a marketing standpoint and possibly even made more money, but it doesn't necessarily mean it would make for a good story.
if you follow Hamill on social media at all you will find he is not a very subtle person. you give him too much credit, lol.
Elijah Sanders
>They were supposed to team up and go on a journey hunting for ancient Jedi relics. That actually makes sense. TFA set up Rey as a Lara Croft character and TLJ completely forgot about it
Jordan Miller
They hand Mark a sledgehammer, and forced him to smash his biggest role to pieces. I'd be a little bitter too.
Jacob Kelly
You can give Luke some flaws without having to turn him into a completely different character. That would be character development. That isn't what we got.
Brayden Butler
the sequel trilogy isn't luke's story. you weren't going to get development either way. what you would get in both instances is a changed man who simply was due to the passage of time.
Jaxson Thompson
>he wanted luke to be a perfect badass hero Fuck off with that bullshit, stop sucking that kike kike producers cock.
Matthew Morales
He's a greedy cunt who sold his soul to the mouse, he's in no position to complain

Aiden Murphy
>(trying to find out who he was as he was posted here a while ago but don't know the name). J.W. Rinzler, also wrote the tell-all Making Of the OT books. Making Of TFA wad going to follow suit, but Disney shelved the finished book.
Julian Sanchez
Because you're talking utter shit.
Kevin Hughes
I had no problem with Luke in TLJ. Sadly the whole movie was bait and switch with plot barely progressing.
Jack Parker
>if you follow Hamill on social media at all you will find he is not a very subtle person. you give him too much credit, lol. I do follow him and he's too subtle for you
Josiah Perry
He was under no obligation of staring in the new star wars trilogy but still did it.
Isaiah Wright
The core fans (and thier fathers) only wanted to see their heroes (Luke, Han and Leia) go for an adventure again. They decided to give us this pile of crap with these new garbage characters. Fine, find another audience to cash.
Thomas Rogers
He signed on for it before Disney acquired Star Wars.
No shut up. I hate the new movies as much as the next guy, but Luke Han and Leia could not have carried a full movie now, much less a trilogy. Especially not Carrie Fisher. Even if she had survived, could you imagine her being given a bigger role? All they had to do was write a movie that didn't suck. I don't even have any complaints about Rey that don't involve the writing. I really wish they had put Rey in a better movie.
Nolan Adams
>defending a vapid Mary Sue
Owen Scott
I'm old enough to have seen Star Wars in theaters before the prequels and have been a fan for as long as I can remember and I was very happy with the last jedi.
It was actually attempting to make star wars grow, to do something interesting with what had become a stale series.
Landon Barnes
TLJ is pleb filter. Stunted development manbabies will never understand.
Sebastian Cox
More ghosts eh...
Oliver James
it's fantasy shit, it's allowed. She could've been written better
Luis Perry
>It was actually attempting to make star wars grow If that's this new trilogy's attempt, they failed as hard as physically possible. The Force Awakens literally resets the universe back to the state of the original trilogy for no good reason. The empire rules again, the exact same rebellion that won before is now a rebellion opposing them again, and the Jedi got almost completely wiped out again. Why the fuck should I care if these new characters win or lose? They've already shown us what happens when the rebellion wins, and the answer is literally fucking nothing. The awkward traitor in TLJ has the right idea.
Bentley Richardson
Just like the Creed movies aren't Rocky's story, but they respected him enough to give him a well done ending.
Adrian Martin
>Option 1 The old heroes on one last adventure together >Option 2 A story so far removed from the OT that new characters can shine without being overshadowed by the presence of OT characters These are viable. Disney went with >Option 3 The promise of OT characters tutoring the new generation lures in fans but the OT characters are twisted beyond all recognition and killed off after having their dignity annihilated to prevent overshadowing. Their victories turned to ash. The OCs becoming usurpers.
Brayden Taylor
>it's fantasy shit, it's allowed. Lucas' films put rules in place her powerset flies in the face of. The Force just doesn't appoint someone to be their champion and unlocks all abilities in an instant.
Brayden Garcia
>IT WAS ME, JJ!
Oliver Lopez
This is another fact about Disney SJWs Wars. Watching these movies gave me the impression no one who worked on them has ever seen one of the six precedent movies.
Parker Jones
I that what triggered you? He doesn't take gloves to trash the tangerine man, that's ballsy. Most of celebs avoid any kind of politics. And don't tell me it doesn't cost anything, James Gunn got fired because of that. And there are actually celebs who joined the MAGA bandwagon because it was popular and not harmful to their career.
it's clear by now that they're making this movie solely for themselves what a waste of money and IP as far as I'm concerned, nu-wars is not star wars and the EU is still canon
Gavin Walker
>We boycotted Solo and I wish I hadn't because when I saw the DVD it was a great flick. It really felt like a Star Wars movie. Nice try you fucking shill. Solo was trash.
Gabriel Sanchez
>Episode 9 is very improvised >JJ has given the actors their own decisions on how they want scenes to progress Oh god is this going to be ghostbusters 2016 all over again?
Cameron Wright
He signed on before disney took over. You know, when Lucas prepared everything for the new trilogy. Hamill was hyped by what he saw, and then disney threw it all into a bin.
Gabriel Roberts
This Move on guys. The Force Awakens was 4 years ago and The Last Jedi was 2 years ago. Find something else to occupy your time.
Nolan Rivera
When are you fuckers gonna realize that the OT characters ARE NOT the fucking focus of the ST? They’re side characters and therefore there’s no fucking reason to fanservice them into dream scenarios. Okay, you didn’t like TLJ. Fine. But these movies aren’t about the old characters. Read the Thrawn trilogy again or just let this shit go already. Mark’s acting like an entitled bitch and doesn’t seem to realize that IT’S NOT ABOUT HIM! He’s so used to being seen as the face of the franchise and he’s just not anymore. He’s the face of the franchise for a certain generation, sure. But that time is over. Life goes on, you get older, you become less important and relevant, deal with it. Fucking hell.
James Walker
Disney are going to perpetrate the same fraud for Episode IX as they did for Captain Marvel, in fact Captain Marvel was probably the shakedown run for this new scheme.
yeah, movies shouldn't be about what the fans want, they should subvert our expectations to a fault, that way it'll be more sophisticated and future generations will appreciate it more even though it relies on decades-old material which is already cheap sci-fi
Imagine that you just bought this franchise for $4Bil. Are you going to try and appeal to a new younger audience for longevity, or please an old fanbase by having 70 year olds play with lightsabers and blasters for 3 movies?
Evan Evans
"You believe in Yahweh?" "Y-yes..." "You're gonna meet him"
Oh I remember the threads when all these were revealed. The original concept story would have worked way better. The story was still centered around Rey, Finn and Poe (with more or less the same backstories we have today) but the premise was different and much more imaginative.
>tfw we could have got the kino opening with the derelict star destroyer crashing down on the junk planet
hmm, I'd probably go with pleasing the demographic that has reliably spent money on the IP instead of going full retard and hoping that not only you make something as cool as the OT was back in the day but also something that captures the shorter attention spans of consumers with less money to spend than the alternative, existing base honestly, they should have just started adapting stories from the EU
Parker Hill
Basedlo was breddy gud actually
Jaxon Fisher
jesus christ you people are retarded
Luis Gomez
Yeah, won't this get the film banned in China? Not that they would make much traction there to begin with, but this way they might as well write it off.
Mason Wilson
>Mark’s acting like an entitled bitch and doesn’t seem to realize that IT’S NOT ABOUT HIM! Then why did they force them in and act like they're the main focus? No one cares about Rey, Finn, or Poe. I really do feel bad for Mark because they forced him to go on a diet and go to the gym for a long time JUST to appear at the end of TFA for like two seconds.
Logan White
Also Maul at the end: pure cringe.
Sebastian Morris
Because they knew you wouldn’t show up if he wasn’t in it.
Jackson Diaz
First film was going to be called the ancient fear
Oliver Jones
>Then the second thing was that they killed me off. I thought: oh, okay, you should push my death off to the last one. That’s what I was hoping when I came back: no cameos and a run-of-the-trilogy contract. Did I get any of those things? Because as far as I’m concerned, the end of VII is really the beginning of VIII. I got one movie! They totally hornswoggled (tricked) me. OHNONONONONO >why didn't they just give me an entire second trilogy of my own REEEEE kek. what an entitled whiny faggot
Michael Peterson
It’s odd how so many go to the extremes in defense and say that fans wanted a new trilogy just like the old movies with the same cast. That’s not what anyone said. A proper movie trilogy would have been old cast handing reigns to new cast, and a proper closure for the old cast. That’s it, that’s what everyone was expecting.
Brandon Diaz
And doing that ensures that the IP dies once the actors die. Already 1/3rd of the way there. Disney made a smart long term move. They had to pass the torch. I can’t imagine how fucking bent out of shape you all would be if the PT was made first and then Obi-Wan gets killed 2/3rds through A New Hope. You’d all lose your shit and say it was disrespectful and insulting. “Obi-Wan only died to push the new characters story forward!” Take a step back and look at everything in context for a second.
Levi Cooper
Same Forgot to mention, this is also how George fucking Lucas envisioned the sequel trilogy to be like.
Gavin Carter
They obviously didn't make the smart long term move because the demographic they were trying to reach doesn't give a fuck about Star Wars now because the last two movies were garbage and they barely did in the first place. Merch isn't selling and they cancelled a bunch of movies. They're definitely not getting their money's worth out of the IP. And the way things are going, they never will.
Henry Hughes
>make the precedent of shitting on previous characters and punishing people for being invested in a product >good long term planning I'll give you a minute to think how retarded that is. And kindly ram the strawman up your ass while you're at it.
Dylan Cox
Star Wars? More like Star Worse now, amirite?
Jonathan Sanchez
Yeah we know, star wars is dead, we found out in December 2017.
Grayson Torres
Only movie that didn’t make money was Solo and there are many reasons for that. I do agree though that Disney got way too big of a hard-on for releases. Star Wars is supposed to be a special event and they didn’t treat it like that. I 100% agree there. But that’s why a lot of stuff got canceled. The spin-off stuff is more lore oriented and geared towards longtime fans. Streaming is the best way to go with spin-offs. Keep the saga films 2 or 3 years apart and everything else is streaming. That’s a way better plan. Also as far as merch goes, it depends on which merch. Action figures and play sets aren’t doing hot but I think that’s just the climate of the toy industry. Lego sets seem to be doing fine though.
They’re not punishing you because you didn’t like the way the story went. You’re offended and think it’s malicious. Also, “shitting on previous characters” doesn’t apply to the new generation of fans because they don’t give a fuck about the old characters like you do. It’s like how OT kids hated the PT and now the PT kids hate the ST. It’s a retarded fucking cycle.
Christopher Brown
>Option 4 Have the OT characters come in and help a little before leaving again because they have shit to do. Luke have his Jedi academy, can't leave that for long.
Lincoln Fisher
>bad guys want to take over the galaxy >can't stay long, gotta grade those papers
The only one who hated the prequels was that retard from yt: the first one was kinda meh, the second was ok and the 3 was epic.
Josiah Lewis
Yeah my dad and all his friends were shitting on them while I was growing up but yeah you’re right. Just muh Plinkett hates them.
Juan Gonzalez
My dad liked them
Anthony Reyes
Good for him.

Aren't you guys ever going to get sick of Star Wars?
Nicholas Cook
More improv! JJ is a fucking hack
Henry Sanchez
It was this guy and the book supposed to be the official making of TFA. Main part of that book was about GL treatments with actual photos of them and vision around them with staff before and after Disney and JJ took over. There was no way Disney or Lucasfilm would have allowed this book been published.... Sadly
Nigga puuuhlease. Any kid that was already into starwars around the beginning of PT didnt hate or despise the OT. Most kids saw it BECAUSE they already watched the originals.
Wyatt Barnes
Stop this fucking meme shit Lucas is just as much of a self hating white cuck as Jew Jew ffs
Kayden Lewis
That'll have to be one fucking great trailer. Out of context pew pew, lightsabers, and an ominous voiceover isn't going to do it for me.
Grayson Green
No, just no. If they were at least a little considerate or remorseful after that shitstorm, then maybe. But as of now, just noooooo.
Luke Garcia
>It was actually attempting to make star wars grow Is that why it rejected the whole idea of doing anything different before the last act? The fucking spin offs grew it more.
>JJ Abrams calling anyone who did not like the Last Jedi to be sexist racists: That's not what he said, though. Thre article is very specific about the context for his words > Asked by IndieWire about pushback from “Star Wars” fans who decried Rian Johnson’s film for its focus on more female-centric stories There's no need to make up stuff on this. The movies are shit, the directors have been shitty. You are on the right on this one. Lying will get you nowhere.
Matthew Carter
