Earn comes off a bit up his own ass, but is heartfelt for the most part. I love the show, I think it encompasses a lot of different black archetypes in pop culture and subcultures but from their perspective. Overall it's kino, to me it comes off like an IRL boondocks

Ive heard the first season is good but only seen a few scenes myself, they were alright. I dont plan on watching it before watching numerous other shows and movies first.

one of the best shows on TV right now, and among my favorites. Not always perfect but it's still good at its worst.
I like the fact that they made Earn imperfect, I was afraid that he'd turn into a cliche "voice of reason", him being a bit arrogant and pretentious makes him more realistic to me

2nd season was a bit weird. Had a few great episodes (like the barbershop or the whiteface one) but I think the season was all over the place, I think it needed something to tie the different episodes together. Instead, from what I remember s2 was mostly one-off episodes with the gang leaving for a tour at the end, glover sticking one of the other basketball americans with the airport gun charge. And sure I get it, a boy's gotta eat, survival of the fittest, a callback to the black robbers at the beginning of the season or whatever. Still, s2 felt more like a series of political or social statements than a story to me.
In any case it's a pretty good show, the acting is fine and the characters I think have depth. Judging from glover's previous career I was afraid that it'd be more preachy than is the case.
