BR, like many movies based on PKD's work, takes the basic premise and turns it into something it's not. Same thing as Total Recall which I actually love!!!FACT!!!
The Parallax View!!!FACT!!!
Total Recall is better then BR!!!FACT!!!
imposing as an imposter
I'll never get over how pissed Keanu got in the audio commentary upon seeing the completed movie for the first time and realizing they rotoscoped it.
It certainly is horrifying.
I dont wanna get into the semantics of a meme word but I think there is a level of comfort in a movie that so effectively attacks a very unique and primal fear.
70s horror & donald sutherland is all around just great
>Total Recall is better then BR!!!FACT!!!

Invasion of the Body Snatchers 78 is another masterpiece!!!FACT!!!
Why? It looks great and totally fit with the druggie hallucination thing going on
It killed a lot of potential the movie had when it came out. People thought it was weird and it got pushed back to the bargain bin almost immediately after hitting the shelves, even with a surprising amount of advertising that it got.
Although I'm fine with how it is and the movie is just about the most fitting you could possibly make to be rotoscoped. I would have liked some scenes to be normal and then contrasted with the effect, however I'm lit pleb and talking about changing the movie with no idea about the book.
Here's a rip of the commentary, if interested. I haven't listened to it in years.

who cares what plebs think
>70s horror & donald sutherland is all around just great
Absolutely. Such an interesting offbeat actor not a typical leading man type. Perfect match for 70s. Crazy how Sutherland, Gould, Hoffman, Hackman, Duvall were some of the biggest stars then vs bland stars of today
inherent vice. its not movies but anything by pynchon or kafka is peak paranoia core
Alex Jones is in this movie, I think he was also in Waking Life.
