>Captain Marvel vs the Bomb Squad
It was a good film.
Can someone post the cringy "what's a king to a god" meme?
What is a king to a Kong?
How would you feel about a Godzilla film that was like a james bond film. Can be any bond tone tho. Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, or Craig.
Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster and Ebirah had James Bond feels to them.
>Only a minor improvement in lighting from this
Oh boy...
New trailer when ?
FUCK GHIDORA AND FUCK TOKYO
God I absolutely LOVE darkness and rain when two giant mosters fight!!
Can anyone beat composite Godzilla?
Keep in mind I'm talking about Legendary Burning Shin Godzilla Earth with the Eternal Nuclear Heart, the plasma breath, a perfect drop kick and the ability to control his own evolution and be a plant
>Captain Marvel will outgross all of these movies
He's a sea creatrure, isn't he?
Would prefer Detective Godzilla, with his deer-stalker hat going around solving crime Sherlock Holmes style.
Clown world, baby
Cry more.
What if Jesus and Godzilla merged together?
Protip, boost the contrast by 70-80% on your copy of Godzilla 2014. Its literally the reason the film looks so dark.
He's more like an amphibian
I must reiterate, how are giant monster movies not "capeshit" aside from not literally having them wear a cape?
Note, I do like them.
Heisei might look cooler, but the execution of Showa King Ghidorah is a lot better. He's a lot more fluid.
The wriggling heads and cackling added a feeling of unpredictably to him.
Why did no one stop Anno from doing this shit
Fuck you and your son
sorry dumb question but whats this from, the new one?
It also helps that he could walk and didn't look stiff when flying
Yes
i havent seen the previous one, so rodan died and will be ressurected?
okay, well since there isn't really a dictionary definition of "capeshit" we can use urban dicionary, which says "Film based on a superhero or comic book franchise." so if you consider Godzilla a superhero then sure. or if it came from a comic book franchise then sure. so really i guess it just depends on whether you personally want to consider it a made up word that means whatever people who use it want it to mean. personally i feel like it's either monster or disaster movie because i don't consider Godzilla a superhero, and he first appeared in film.
>Godzilla vs Plant Godzilla
>Godzilla vs Robot Godzilla
>Godzilla vs Alien Godzilla
>Godzilla vs Evil Mothra
The writers were straight out of ideas
Because it's cool
At least they didn't make Godzilla Vs. Ghost Godzilla.
that's fair user, altho I guess I tend to just consider visually appealing or gripping movies with throwaway plots as "capeshit". You also made me realize, at this point Godzilla, kong and such are basically super heroes.
Kaijukino>>>>>>>Capeshit
>Amazing, breathtaking posters
>Can have important morals about the dangers of politics or nuclear weaponry far better than any DC or Marvel movie
>Delve into the depths of humanity's wants and desires without straying away too much from the monsters they focus on
>Stunning and horrifying villains that wouldn't be possible in capeshit
>Lovecraftian themes deep within the idea of a story about big monsters punching each other
>Still cheesy and goofy, but also extremely serious at the same time
Toho got around to it eventually
GMK counts too, when you think about it.
>Wikizilla
i remember seeing a post on Yea Forums that showed me to this extremely cringeworthy godzilla roleplay wiki
i'll try and find it if possible
>tfw Kiryu started throwing around like Showa Godzilla.
Please do.
Dougherty considers KOTM to be a "Monster Opera" in the same sense that Star Wars is a space opera
>almost tricks you into selling your soul to the god of death
Nothing personal, kid
>"Monster Opera"
Fuck I'm so ready.
Gabara and SpaceGodzilla could have killed Godzilla's son, I don't see anyone hyping them up
>Monster Opera
I want a medieval Kaiju movie
Nah, Detective Godzilla is a film noir guy.
>King of Monsters is going to get his ass kicked by a blue Will Smith
Oh nonononononono
>Godzilla is fast enough to catch up to fighter jets when he sprints
Just how fast is he
there’s a thousand disappointing digital beush strokes on this image, and not one if them helps advance the presentation.
He's a fast as well as a big guy.
Was this kino?
youtu.be
For you.
>Implying they would't make that now and make it a sequel to Godzilla vs Destroyah
Why they translated gojira to Godzilla? Loses all the semantics intended
Trailer views are not always a reliable means of determining turnout. Jungle Book got fewer views than Godzilla and grossed almost a billion. Venom had more views than Aquaman and made less. Disney's live-action remakes have been enjoying an upward trend in gross and the last one took in $1.2 billion. I don't expect that to change now. Plus, Aladdin was super popular back in the day.
>Implying Father Vs. Son wouldn't be kino
Gorillawhale doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well
Couldn’t they just maintain gojira?
Indeed
spoopy
We’d get pick related
Why would they? Typically foreign names get Anglicized during the translation process
Based
>rated pg-13 for its “sequences of monster action violence and destruction, and some language”
What they mean by it? I seriously doubt the violence tops man of steel, for example
>No Son of Kong or King Kong Escapes
What is this?
The Oxygen Destroyer bomb kills thousands of fish that eerily float to the top
Godzilla rips one of Ghidorahs heads off
Mothra brutally injures Rodan with a stinger
In the final battle, after recieving power boost from Mothra, Godzilla melts almost all of Ghidorah with atomic pulses and then burns and eats what's left of his head
Am I missing something with these movies I really don't get the hype? Are they secretly kino?
HALO jump one of the best uses of military to create a stylistically interesting scene. Also the bridge scene with MUTO.
what movies are this specifically pls?
there's a reason the films have been going since the 50's
Best female kaiju?
I liked Godzilla movies since 2000. The hype for this next one is seeing famous monster fights with computer animation instead of the still awesome rubber suits. I am hoping it's Kino.
Legion
If toho doesn't let them make any more films after GvK they're literally retarded
King of the Monsters
Both Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins were underused as fuck.
Just dropping by the thread to say fuck the anime trilogy.
Is it that one with the D&D alignments with the made up quotes?
Does anyone deny that it's well shot? Gareth Edwards has a good eye. The problem is everything else. It does nothing with really good actors and the writing was abhorrent. His best movie is Monsters.
Thanks for stopping by. Come back to talk when we've watched King of the Monsters.
The film had great sound design.
Yes. The script sucked. Cranston set up mystery with ass payoff. It wasn't Godzilla. It was Mutos who killed Binnoche. The parasites head where Johnson would have been anyways had he stayed.
The look of the movie suffered some lighting issues. A lot of the movie is squint inducing from what I remember.
fuck, i can't see this anymore without thinking about the pepe and wojak edit
Find a flaw that isn't "muh monster fights" or "muh animation"
the main character is basically just attack on titan edgy man
>monsters that spawn from humanity's failed attempts to combat Godzilla, coming back to bite them in the ass
>straight out of ideas
Nice try
FUCK FUCK FUCK
do anyone have info on the rumor that the most intelligent head of guidorah can actually talk loud and clear?
You're being coaxed into a snafu user
>Muh monster fights
>Muh animation
Literally only flaws
Characters are absolutely terrible. Range from boring to annoying and that's it.
>Main page has two literal who OCs (one of them being a fucking copypaste) before Godzilla
Now THIS is autism!
>none of what you said is true
>thinly veiled Godzilla clones and recycled monsters isn't an indication of creative bankruptcy
Okay
I hated these movies
>we can kill godzilla, just gotta kamikaze yourself into him from the edge of the atmosphere
>nah
>later on he kills himself anyways for no reason.
Haruo and Eren only share one significant similarity and that's their intense drive to kill monsters. And killing Godzilla is less about avenging his parents than redeeming the entire human race. There are more shades to Haruo than people give credit for. For example, he's pretty selfless and insecure. More than the lel edgy dude people dismiss him as.
How do you guys watch the old Toho godzilla movies? Jump to where the monsters fight or watch it in it's entirety?
strawpoll.me
Godzilla kept the nanometal in check. Killing Godzilla would let the nanometal glass the entire planet. Not only would he irreparably render the planet hostile to organic life, he would have killed the indengious population and fulfilled the original metal men invasion strategy.
Entirety. That's why the 60's movies are my favorites. Fun stuff going on even before Godzilla wakes up.
EVA 01 would fuck him up.
fair point, but why did they even try to use that shit again in the first place? I thought that mechagodzilla didn't work, which was why they had to abandon the planet in the first place since humanity's trump card failed them? And the shit only started going crazy once the dudes started fusing with it, it'd been just chilling not taking over the whole planet the whole time the colony ship had been gone.
its fucking boring
The aliens couldn't get Mechagodzilla working in time and had to abandon the factory in a rush. Somehow the metal continued to operate in their absence and rebuilt the factory. Although the metal was more or less passive before the characters returned to Earth, you get hints at its dangerous nature. It is shown to have consumed humans in the past and it kills the mutant birds. Basically, it was slowly expanding while trying to hide from Godzilla. The characters use because it's the only chance they have to fight Godzilla. But notice that everyone is uneasy about it besides the aliens who created it.
he cute
Seems he would make a cool pet if you can overlook the blood and radiation
What other kaiju would you like to see in a Legendary film?
The crossmedia lore is absolutely amazing and we got this shit instead.
holy fuck it's so bad
gimme source plx
gib Gigan pls
I love Vs SpaceGodzilla
Mainly because it have a showa feel while being 90's as fuck
As opposed to the characters of Godzilla 2014 or a number of other Godzilla movies? I enjoyed the story and philosophical debate.
This Destroyah guy is a real jerk!
Yikes!
>Shadowsteel

wow
So what do yall want shown from between now and the release?
>new trailer
>preview footage
>more breadcrumbs on the Monarch site
>other news
Yes
Should I continue posting these?
I'd prefer if you didn't, but do whatever
Will there be an in-movie explanation for the all the storms or are they there just to look bad ass while the monsters battle?
No, this only highlights why daily Godzilla threads are proving to be a bad idea.
I saw that already. It was called Godzilla vs. Biollante
Holy mother of titty goddamn christ, the writing is beyond awful.
>That Godzilla anime fag
I swear to god, it's only one guy defending these pieces of shit films in every Godzilla thread.
be my guest, I wanna see how deep this rabbit hole goes.
In both the 2nd trailer and the Monarch website seem to imply that King Ghidorah is able to create superstorms by simply flying.
more EU stuff. Comics, novels, short films maybe
>195 meters tall
>literally a bane quote
You're a big guy...
oh no
>A Bane quote and an old-Broly quote

Was it autism?
i shall continue

Shazam is a man-child though. The image is implying he's going to fuck that tight teen robopussy
Superman
Don’t, please
To an extent I agree with this
I love getting to sperg out about Godzilla on Yea Forums but after a while some people just start posting all kinds of cringy bullshit
one last one, i'll stop posting them now
Can someone add Broly to this?
Half the shots in the movie you couldn't fucking see
>I LOVE not being able to see the monsters in my monster movie!
Curious to see what Legendary Jet Jaguar would look like
May he reign forever!
>Half the shots in the movie you couldn't fucking see
I remember watching that Hulk movie directed by Ang Lee in the theater with my friend and his parents and at the end where Hulk is fighting his dad-turned-monster I couldn't tell WHAT the fuck was going on. I mean it was completely murky to me; like the movie was suddenly dropped in the dirtiest fish tank imaginable. But the crazy shit is I was apparently the only one having this problem. I asked my friend if he could tell what the fuck was going on and he said yea so I thought I was going crazy or blind.
Now THAT was a game
*sips*
What are the chances of a new Godzilla game coming out any time in the future?
High.
Chances of it being good: Low
Mecha Godzilla is a FUCKING CITY
This was kino
They're nit that long. Like Rocky movies just fights alone with no build up is not rewarding.
How do you get into these? Just watch all of them in order or what?
ever see Daimajin?
See
king of the monsters soundtrack
youtube.com
I downloaded the set. Only in original versions and watched it in order almost all for the first time. Then other Toho movies. Some of them are extremely difficult to find online in Japanese versions. It took me years to complete this.
holy fucking HYPE
*blocks your solar system*
I-Is my best friend Caesar gonna be in the new movie guys....?
I defy you to name me a more Chad kaiju.

Wake up cunt.
>Godzilla as a concept was born from the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings
>Americans have now taken the concept as their own pop culture
This. At least the Gareth movie kept some symbolism but this new one looks like goofy horse shit
this trilogy ended up becoming such shit. first one was actually interesting and to me felt like it was legitimately good. second being a worse version of the first with extra autism, and the third was actually just such a fucking atrocious disappointment on delivering ghidorah. literally just 3 long spoopy heads take bite onto godzilla for a while. at some point they slightly pick him up and then a little later drop him. could not believe how fucking disappointing that ended up
>tfw no EDF-esque game by Project Aces where you can dogfight kaiju
Godzilla Earth is my favorite incarnation
Are you fucking serious
While his nuclear origins are certainly important, Godzilla has evolved as a character and as a symbol as the series has gone on. In some films, sure, his role as a serious symbol for problems plaguing Japan (from the atomic bombings to Cold War tensions to war crime denial to the aftermath of the 2011 tsunami and Fukushima disaster) is kept intact, while in others he’s an antihero or even an out and out friendly superhero.
To act like Godzilla being a good guy or big monster fights or “goofy horse shit” is purely a result of the franchise becoming “Americanized” ignores that the original creators of Godzilla (Honda, Tanaka, Tsuburaya, etc.) did choose to take Godzilla in a more heroic direction
Like it or dislike it, don’t pretend it’s all our fault
I still don't understand the 2014 Godzilla's origin. Was he literally hundreds of millions of years old and just hibernating all that time?
youtube.com
My nigga.
You could see them fine in theaters, its not the movie's fault Warner Bros forgot how video contrast works. Literally just boost the contrast and you can see just fine
So when is your eye correction surgery scheduled?
*blocks your path*
yes. He and the other Titans are from the Permian Era.
Something like that, though he wasn’t just hibernating all that time; he did come out from time to time to fight monsters and such (as shown by the cave paintings at the end of Skull Island), and was worshipped as a god by ancient human civilizations. The upcoming movie even reveals that one civilization once existed in a sort of “symbiotic relationship” with Godzilla and even built him a giant shrine/lair that he comes to rest in from time to time (leaks aside, the director confirmed this in a recent interview and we’ve seen it in the trailers, pic related - note Godzilla laying down on the very top of the pyramid in the center)
Eventually he woke up again sometime towards the end of WW2 and sunk a few ships and was generally a nuisance until 1954, when the US nuked him and he didn’t show up again until 2014

This trilogy was garbage. And I usually like Urobuchi.
He's really fun to use in the game tho
He’s breddy okay
Post moth girl titties
I dunno, kinda hard to forget a monster trying to swallow Godzilla whole.
Now i want to listen to Mothra's theme
>This song is beautiful and don't judge mw because I'm a guy
Nothing wrong in appreciating beauty
Are there any Kaiju besides Godzilla, Ghidora, Mothra, and Rodan that are confirmed to be in the new movie? Will it likely just be them?
There are at least two OC kaiju in the movie.
2000 and Megaguirus are connected because of the G-cells storyline
I think those monster will show up at the end as it displays Kaijus awakening across the world
This specific scene was actually what turned me around on the 2014 movie. When I saw the dramatic build up of the lights, that was when I finally realized that they KNEW what they were doing.
>When I saw the dramatic build up of the lights
And that electric hum, shit was cash money
Needs Aquaman and Venom.
Friendly reminder:
Godzilla Final Wars came out near the final days of GeoCities lifespan.
I remember being mislead that Orga was the "final boss" of the movie and not King Ghidra.
Other Friendly Reminder:
Godzilla is professional wrestling for the boys that figured out that professional wrestling is soap opera for boys.
it wasnt King Ghidorah, it was Kaiser Ghidorah
Some retread Pacific Rim Jaeger.

Posting in a comfy thread
>literally the Yamcha of kaijukino
>chad
Am I a weeb now that I’m knee deep into Kaiju lore and kino?
No
No. Weeb shit is in the anime range, maybe some jap games. Kaiju is its own thing, and most hardcore kaijufans are much more self aware without the cringe, or basing the majority of their personality solely on liking or loving Godzilla. A Dragon Ball weeb or whatever else is generally living off that alone, and it defines them. Any Godzilla fan I've spoken to, no matter how big a fan, isn't nearly as cringe.
>prequel stuff is way more interesting than main story
>three movies in a row of slow Godzilla being lured into a trap and eventually ending without Godzilla problem solved
>including two different alien races that could easily be ignored entirely
>aliens kamikaze their own ships to stop Godzilla in prequel then need humans to make colony ships for them to leave on
You didn't have to deal with those guys for three movies.
Honda fucking hated it and he was the biggest reason the movies turned out as well as they did.
WHAT IS YOUR KAJIU WISHLIST?
> KOM's teaser trailer is a accurate representation of the films tone & style.
> KOM & vs Kong are successful enough that Toho allows WB/Legendary to renew the Godzilla license & continue making films.
> If that happens then Michael Dougherty returns to direct those sequels if KOM is as good as the teaser looks.
> A 2D Godzilla animated series set in or as a extension of the Legendary monster-verse is released. It's similar in both artstyle & plot format as the 98's films follow up animated series, with many original monsters being created from scratch. Maybe get Fil Barlow from said 98 animated series back to take part in it.
> The long lost 5th Marc Cerasini novel, Godzilla & the Lost Continent is allowed to be published or is adapted into a comic/graphic novel.
> Barring that, Cerasini is tapped to do new Godzilla novels.
> The Stan Winston Godzilla project that preceded the 98 film's making is adapted into a comic/graphic novel.
> Mukesh Singh draws a Godzilla comic/graphic novel with the same artstyle & level of detail/quality as his Dinosaurs vs Aliens graphic novel.
> The future Godzilla cinematic universe Toho are planning to build in place of ShinG2 creates fresh new monsters & plots and doesn't fall into rehashing Ghidorah, Mothra & MechaG like the heisei era did. We will be getting them in the American Godzilla material coming out soon, they can wait a while to be done in Japan again.
> If Mothra gets a stand alone film, it's a straight up adaption of the early 90s Mothra vs Bagan script, including being set all over Asia & not just Japan.
> Shusuke Kaneko returns to do more sequels to his 90s Gamera trilogy, keeping the same tone, they maintain his design from Gam3, especially the neck/head & they possibly use the tentacled monster from the canceled Gamera reboot proof of concept trailer.
> All Godzilla & Gamera mangas are released in English.
> We get a proper larger budget kajiu oriented Cloverfield sequel. Ignoring the preposterous size of the monster from the end of Paradox.
> The Reigo & Raiga Deep Sea Monster films get released on American dvd.
twitter.com
>Dougherty did rewrites on GvK
Chances of repeated Kaijukino rising
The director of vs Kong is pretty based himself.
God this Gigan redesign was a fucking perfect balance between the 70s & 04 versions.
Why was Gigan so edgy?
who /biollante/ here
>last spoiler
Kinda hot
an hero with coma block of metal gf instead of staying with cute moth wife and daughteru
50 feet woman
>three movies in a row of slow Godzilla being lured into a trap and eventually ending without Godzilla problem solved
Theres is only two movies that involve luring Godzilla into a trap and, while it does make narrative sense for repeating it, I do think it should have been condensed into two movies instead of three. Godzilla winning = humans realize they were in the wrong and have to adapt or face certain death. Pretty kino message and in line with the roots of the series.
>including two different alien races that could easily be ignored entirely
If you think this you completely missed the thematic points being made
>WHAT IS YOUR KAJIU WISHLIST?
>That the upcoming Ultraman movie isn't based on the shitty Michel Bay-tier manga
>It actually respects the source material
>It's directed by someone who actually grew up with the source material (Del Taco, Cameron, etc)
U-Ultrakino incoming, brahs?
>WHAT IS YOUR KAJIU WISHLIST?
>The upcoming Ultraman movie isn't based on the shitty Michael Bay-tier manga
>It respects the source material
>It also recreates the tone of it; surreal, flamboyantly colored creatures contrasting with a serious, grimdark plot
>It's directed by someone who actually cares about the source material. Bonus points if they actually grew up with it like Del Taco
>it's good and it won't ruin the Monsterverse for everybody.
If it checks at least 2.5/5 of the points here it's kino in my eyes, it'd be awesome if it checks them all.
bump so it doesn't fucking die
>Fat Godzilla moving that fast
Oh lawd he comin'
This makes me worried because I liked Peter Jacksons Kong because he's a huge monkey. I didn't like Skull Island because Kong looked really fucking goofy walking about like he'd kind of shit himself.
I really liked it personally, but I'm not a huge godzilla fan
I think it's more about his stride length given his height, he can travel pretty fast relative to us and our perception of speed due to how small we are. To ants we must be fucking insane when we move.
Godzilla 1998 is better.
I liked both but Jackson's was definitely better.
we'd all benefit from kaiju universe over capeshit
he cute
i really liked the movies, dont really get all the hate
That Netflix giga Godzilla is fucking awful. The BIlusuado was the best part, an absolute diamond in a mess of shit.
They knew it would be kino.
It is.
I dig how legendary godzilla looks like he's made out of wood or something. He looks like he could be some sort of Dark Souls boss, like an arch-drake or something you'd see dead in Lost Isalith.
His screech/groan in the US version is really unsettling tho.
it looks cool
That isn't Legendary beside Shin. That's the anime Godzilla. He has a muscular body, canine face, and leaf dorsal plates.
Legendary is pic related. Left is 2014 and right is 2019.
>tfw friends arent interested in watching kaiju movies with me because of subtitles
My bad, I know he changed between 14 and 19 but I couldn't remember beyond "got biggerer"
Cool design either way, is the anime worth checking out?
it's very slow and dull with little to no pay off. Some people like it but most agree that they are worth skipping
it seems people either love or hate the anime trilogy
i liked it desu and dont mind the weird direction they went with some things
you need eye surgery nigger
Find something good about that
It toys around with intriguing themes and sees those through until the end, the main monsters have neat new designs and meanings, the generally good writing, the thick tension between the characters, the solid OST, and because of the cool military battles waged against Godzilla. Just to name a few.
Definitely
Those two things are pretty fucking important in an animated movie about giant monsters. Also the writing was ass.
>Mechagodzilla is meant to be a stand in for Godzilla when he can't fight.
>Towards the climax the robot keeps sustaining heavy damage, peeling away it's armor.
>By the final battle, the damage becomes too severe, it has to ejecy the Godzilla exoskeleton completely.
>Doing so reveals the robot's humanoid inner frame: Jet Jaguar
>animated movie about giant monsters
Wrong. Animated movies with giant monsters in the background or to help tell a story. Think more Monsters, less stereotypical Godzilla movie.
>Also the writing was ass.
Can you tell me how? I would really like to understand this complaint.
Nice. The thread is still alive
Call them faggots
How big are the chances that Charles Dance plays the only likeable character in the movie as is killed off after the first 20 minutes?
I love this and I still have this.
>between Kong SI and KOTM we have two distinct giant spider kaiju
>none are Kumonga
Are the three new anime films worth watching?
KOTM will shit on Endgame.
The story is dense and requires your attention. But keep in mind that it's a slow-paced science-fiction film that is light on action. The monsters are in the background and themes are the most important thing. Go in with those expectations and they're enjoyable.
>he then looks at the camera, gives a thumbs up, and uppercuts Ghidorah into the moon
>Godzilla is a fucking tree instead of a badass reptile nuclear motherfucker
and that's why you shouldnt watch the anime
No, thanks.
Implying you could even notice the tree-ish design in the anime with the fucked visuals. The anime trilogy is fine, only the first film is boring till the last 30 minutes.
Why would you tolerate movies being so dark that you can barely make out what's going on in them?
Not him, but as many anons have already mentioned, just bump the contrast up a bit. I also distinctly remember the theater quality being easier to see, so it's likely they lowered the contrast for home versions for whatever reason.
In any case, movie is perfectly fine. Complaining about the darkness, something easily fixable, is like saying Batman Begins sucks because the editing during the fight scenes sucked. no, G'14 isn't perfect, had its own problems for sure, but a bit of darkness isn't really one of them when it's easily mended
>I also distinctly remember the theater quality being easier to see
And I remember being bothered by how dark the theater version was, regardless of whether the home version was made even darker.
>something easily fixable
How does the fact that something bad about the movie could easily be fixed in editing help anyone?
>Editing
You have a remote, right? For your tv, computer, or however which you watch movies on, right? You can bump the contrast that way.
Tell me, does needing to turn on subtitles also ruin movies for you?
Yeah, and I'm not gonna bother messing with my tv settings for the sake of one movie when the current ones look great for everything else. And that's even ignoring that my personal issue isn't even with the contrast but with the darkness. Darkness is the lazy way out for special effects.
>messing with the settings on your device for the sake of a single movie that is only valuable as a technical exercise
Lel. If Godzilla 2014 didn't have a Hollywood budget and talented cinematographer at its disposal, it would universally be regarded as one of the worst movies in the Godzilla series.
Funny, I agree it's not very great. I even mentioned I have issues with the movie, but lighting isn't one of them.
Also, in a series with half of the Showa era, Megaguirus, and '98, I don't think it's really fair to say that it'd be one of the worst. For the record, I consider it middle tier.
>Without the cinematography
Yeah, that can be said for nearly any subject for any movie. If X doesn't have Y, then it would be regarded as terrible. But the writing is fine, if standard, and none of the characters are cringe-worthy. I'd say the biggest issue isn't the lighting, it's the focus being on Ford and the Mutos, where the best characters were Serizawa and Cranston and Godzilla should have been the main monster. Like I said, tons of issues. Being slightly dark isn't one of them.
They're introducing so many new monsters, is the movie going to be 5 hours long?
isnt godzilla the result of a universal constant that destroys civilisations for getting too proud or arrogant or whatever in those movies
More or less, yeah
