I think it might be worse in Europe from the things I've heard (I'm in Canada), but people usually don't stay here that long
What I like about it is that theres lots of voluntary time off either in the middle of shift or you can apply for it the day before and take entire days off (sometimes a whole week without using any of your vacation time)
But I pretty much work there because of the VTO and I live pretty close to the warehouse, easy to commute.

Its fucking gay dude, they don't wear armor so that the fags in the audience can have a wank.

Its not that i cant find a job. Its just not really jobs i would enjoy. Alot of the work where i live is oilfield related. For example one of the job offers i recived paid around 75-80k a year, but had you working 100 hours a week. And even when you werent actually on the clock you most likely woukd have to live on the rig location

i hate delivering your shitty dumb shit every god damn day on top of the mail. its a pain in the ass. fuck amazon and fuck you faggot

you may already know this but many jobs that dont explicitly require tons of manual labor, like jobs that have you sit down and work with technology, circuity, software, etc, literally half of your hours are going to be you fucking around

my buddy "does" about 60 hours a week at lockheed martin, about half of those are him fucking around, walking around talking to people, eating in the breakroom, watching youtube, and so on

you guys are getting fucked hard

Honestly the job i was talking about kind of is that way from what i heard. Apparently you assemble a tool then run it. Which takes maybe a couple of hours. And then you basically monitor it to make sure nothing is going wrong. Even the guy who interviewed me said if everything is going smoothly you have alot of time to "read or watch movies". But fuck you basically have to sacrifice your life for it living on a rig.

Also if you're getting interviews but no job I think they have companies that you can do mock interviews with and get feedback. I've never done it but it might be worth looking into

hows the pay over there? i just got hired in a few weeks ago and im at 17.29 an hour. work about 60 hours a week and all the walking kicks my ass. im decent at it already though. regulars make more and get better hours but i have no idea how long itll take me to get to regular

>Start your own practice
Hard to do, I'd have to figure out how to get my own clients and a lot of types of cases can only really be done with multiple attorneys. I could try going solo but I wouldn't know where to start.
I'm not too worried, my boss was an asshole and I was already starting to look for a new job. I should have something soon.

Electrical engineering currently working for a telecom company. Makes me want to blow my brains out, would rather be a Spartan.

that's cool, but not my office experience. People can work from home for half a day or leave early here and there, but generally can't leave before 4 every day. Even if they were just faster and performed at the same quality as everyone else, they'd cause trouble if they didn't keep the same hours as everyone else.

It's kind of an interesting, albeit inefficient, phenomenon.

working in an office is a bit shit generally, but can be okay if you work with nice/smart/funny people. A lot of offices aren't like that obviously though.

Sitting in front of a computer for 40+ hours a week can only be so good--you really need to like your job/co-workers for it to be viable/not make you hate it.

wtf. why are there birds in a box on you're floor bro??

Only if you're a white male and you hate the Asiatic hordes

>fell for the trades meme

I don't get full time for now, which means obviously not much benefits beyond what the union gives me by default (yes joined Union, was iffy about it but decided to future benefits)
but I get anywhere from 30 to 40 hours a week and that's perfectly fine with me.
I do make more now than I did in the office i worked at before. even though it is union and union caters to tenured fucks that don't do anything, my workplace does recognize guys that are simply good at what they do.

that's the worst--being in an office for low pay. If you're gonna be strapped to a PC for 8-some hours a day, you at least need to be making a median salary. I see why you quit

Consultant
Work emails.

I'm not gonna say what I do now is easy, it's definitely hard work.. especially on some days preparing for the upcoming weeks sales.

aside from teenagers that don't give a fuck and quit/get fired in a week anyways.. I don't understand how some people dont take these jobs somewhat seriously when they can pay off big time in a short while.
my immediate supervisor makes like 80 grand a year and he, just like me, focuses on frozen foods. he's full time obviously, and he does a bit beyond my paygrade/understanding but it's not tremendously difficult.
I can see myself doin his job soon at another place, or something else simila,r since they apparently like me relatively soon. I do well enough to be on my own now but 80 grand a year to load icecream and hotpockets into a freezer? I'll definitely do that.

dead end to most, but if you are capable they will offer you somethin. besides the salary potential is still very good
we have a position at my store called the "Union Reciever"
all he does is sit in the back all day and check/count all the shipments we get that day, clean up loading dock, and mark down or trash damaged product.
our particular Receiver used to be the Grocery Manager (which is another high end but more stressful job) and he decided to take this job. He makes fuckin bank and he basically does nothing. that is what Tenure gets you.

80k for a shelf stacker? How has that company not gone bust?

That seems completely bizarre. You'd be lucky to make 30k for those kinds of duties where I'm from.

I cut grass.

well like he said he does a lot more. while the Grocery Manager of the store does technically oversee Frozen as well, they passed on basically the Manager aspect of the Frozen department to him. so he has to make the orders, scan his shit deal with vendors, prep for sales, etc. so all of that on top of doing the regular job of loading shit into the freezer, it is definitely a full time job that has a lot to do.
The Grocery Manager makes over 100k from what I can tell, especially since he's tenured too.
and while his title is "Grocery Manager" he is technically not part of the upper tier management staff. Grocery Manager is still Union. Assistant Store and Store Manager are corporate positions.

well like I said that's tenure
we have a guy who literally has to take pills to make sure he doesn't go on a shooting rampage
but since he's been there for a while and he does decent enough work he makes like $25 an hour doin various things. he'll never get promoted beyond what he does not but he's been there a while and hasn't had a break in his employment.. even if companies don't like union bullshit they still appreciate tenured guys as well
