What is Hollywood going to do after capeshit is finally over? Whether you enjoy it or feels it’s an epidemic, capeshit will eventually end, at least in it’s current saturation of the market. Where do they go next?

y-yes rabbi, okay

One of the things they'll do is reboot Harry Potter.

remake the entire star wars series with new actors

They'll always have Nu Wars.

They are fucked, so it's back to fucking kids.

I think there's only been like 5 AAA movies in the last 2 years that weren't related to capeshit.

They're gonna find the next big fad. It's not like capeshit dying won't be linked to that. A high-concept non-capeshit movie will come out amidst the capeshit season and perform admirably against bigger productions. That will prompt Hollywood studios to milk similar concepts for more money, while gradually phasing out capeshit with reviewer consensus suddenly turning from "OMG BEST THING EVER I'VE BEEN A COMIC BOOK FAN SINCE I WAS IN MY MOTHER'S WOMB" to "wow capeshit is so passe and stale".
Source: my ass, but also every other Hollywood fad that came and went.

Hopefully going back to making normal movies

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Some other large franchise. Something less ambitious. I’m sure they’d like to keep the life cycle of these things shorter for less weariness from the audience.

They can’t do anime for a while. Audiences want white actors for the leads but whiners won’t let it fly.

They might try to make some sort of Disney fairytale multiverse thing. Star Wars would have been a good choice for a follow up but they fucked it up. Still might have some success with a reboot/offshoot.

Does Fox own anything cool?

>will eventually end
lmao

Whatever it is, I hope capeshit ends in the next 5 years

I think we’ll see the end of cape flicks in a few years. Marvel shot its load with Endgame. Meanwhile WB is playing catch-up and I highly doubt it’ll that the new decade will be better for them. Maybe one or two more DC films that might make Aquaman level profit and then the dam bursts.

I want historical epics to make a serious comeback. From ancient times to the early 19th century whether sword & sandal, medieval, or Napoleonic wars.

Mate, it's literally the only thing that still makes money.

If we're to assume that Hollywood will never go back to making original(ish) pictures and instead will plunder some other existing market, which I believe is a fair assumption, then I hope capeshit never ends. I kind of feel bad for actual comic book fans who had to see their relatively niche hobby suddenly stripped and whored out to the dumb masses. I know that Hollywood would and could do the same exact thing just as easily to stuff that I like. No matter what they adapted, no matter how good it was, they would ruin it to make it palatable to as wide an audience as possible. Anime is already in their sights. Who knows? Maybe we'll see the classic Chinese kung-fu movies remade by JJ Abrahms starring niggers and women.
So I pray for capeshit's longevity, as much as I despise it. God knows what will be next.

>What is Hollywood going to do after capeshit is finally over?
pluck another maggot from its ass and smear it all over the screen.

How many decades ago was Christopher Reeves' Superman? It's been around that long. It will still be around for decades more.

That's the spirit. Young ladies like you are the way of the future.

I didn't remember studios releasing 2 capeshit a month back then

>implying
s m h

Which means it's getting stronger.

only proves we'll get more especially when they're making millions

I want 4 capekinos released per month so that I'll have something to watch each week.

well, it's kinda in a weird place, Marvel is gonna dump their core cast and bring in the FF and X-Men and all that jazz and see if they can keep their gravy train running but who knows.

DC is arguably in a better position because people want their A listers rebooted asap, which means they have a second and third chance to finally get Superman and Batman right, and Shazam is very likely to take over the Superman position which is fine.

It's not like they're out of material this can go for another 30 years at the same pace before they're really scraping the bottom especially with DC who has a much more diverse cast (genre wise) and can branch out into lot's and lot's of areas if they ever stop continually fucking themselves in the ass.

Same thing they did after people stopped paying for westerns -- move on to another genre.

2020 is the crucial year.
It's the first year in quite a while with the mainstream blockbusters being largely non capeshit. Dune, Avatar 2, Godzilla vs Kong, new Nolan blockbuster, Bond 25, new Top Gun and more, while capeshit studios will enter that phase of releasing side side projects and 12th sequels where even the standard normalfag casuals slowly not being able to keep up and slowly losing interest. Couple that with the fact that nustarshit is already dying and that can be great hope for the industry to finally start turning.

And those are only the big Hollywood blockbusters we are talking

>1 new original story

fucking hell and Dune has a very high chance of sucking, Avatar 2 will be crap, Bond will be crap and Top Gun will absolutely be crap.

It's not the question of them being crap or not, it's the question of will they have better box office numbers than capeshit flicks.
That stuff is the only thing studios care about and the only thing that could actually change the industry. Any of them being quality would only be a great bonus

Avatar might, Godzilla will do fine, Nolan is probably gonna be fine the rest no, Bond has been shit for way to long, Top Gun will be to pc and Dune will have the same problems as john carter of mars, they won't do very well.

You're still talking about quality.
Yes the Bond films have been shitty, but did they make money? Absolutely. Look up the box office numbers of Spectre and Skyfall. Literal billions. And the next Bond film is directed by Fukunaga

>Fukunaga
So it will be a lot more shit.
