Rory might have become a turboslut but the comedy in those seasons was excellent and Paris was at her absolute best. Laughs per episode were at there highest in those seasons even if they weren't as comfy as the Chilton years. It was season 6 when it became a dumb soap opera

I don't like this show because I find the mom character to be annoying as fuck. I also find the delivery of lines from almost every character to be unnatural and sped up to the point that I can always tell they have memorized lines and aren't actually having conversations. I know it's a tv show, of course there are lines, but the delivery isn't supposed to make me think that.

It's an homage to classic screwball comedies from the 1930s and 1940s, the creators and head writers are huge fans of the genre and time period. It's not meant to be realistic it represents a fantasy where everyone has something clever and funny to say, popular during the Great Depression when people were desperate for that shit. It's an acquired taste but I love it

No the problem was that the creator and showrunner, Amy Sherman Palladino, realized that now that Lorelai and Luke have gotten together the show is over. So she created dumb fucking reasons to keep them apart, like a daughter he didn't know he had. In the end the show should have ended with season 5
