Oh okay, I guess I heard about the movie back in 2017. I was really interested in it, mostly because of Cameron and Rodriguez, and wasn't bothered by the eyes at all, I thought she was cute. I didn't pay much attention to it as I had other things going on, though I saw it got pushed back to December. It was around the end of last year and beginning of this year I started revving up to see it, and with Jimbo promoting it on his instagram and the trailer getting me pumped, I made it a priority to see it on my birthday, which it just so happened came out on the same day. I wasn't a fan, or even knew about the manga before the movie came out, but immediately read all of it after. First showing of the movie saw it with my father, he was a little mixed on it, though he has peculiar taste. I got immediately obsessed with the movie and wanted to see it do good financially and with fans. I had been on Yea Forums for years, but I caught the generals starting up and I've been here since the beginning. I just picked a random name, Peaches, so someone could remember me in the next thread, since I was making so many .webms. Almost half the pictures here I probably posted first, haha. I wouldn't consider myself a daddy here, I just post a lot. I have a background in graphics design and editing, so doing these little videos weren't any trouble. Think I wrote too much, but that's that.

Sadly, no. Still in flopped territory. If it made more money in NA, say 150 million and 250 rest of the world, then it would have made its money back, but Fox will only get 140-160 million of those 400m after theater and distributor cut. That's without counting the marketing budget which was probably anywhere from 50 to 100 million. The 350 million break even point was for NA. If it made that much domestically, it would have broke even because studios get 55-60% of the revenue from domestic ticket sales. For the rest of the world studio cut is anywhere from 25% to 50% depending on the country and distributor. So Alita will make 40-45m domestically and somewhere around 100-120m from overseas. It's not terrible, but probably a lot worse than what they were hoping for. It should break even if Alita has strong home video sales and at that point Fox would have no reason to deny a sequel. They just need to figure out how to cut down on CGI because it's driving up the cost of the movie big time and leaving little money for everything else.
