They went from making high quality independent films (Enemy, Under The Skin, Good Time, The Lobster etc.) to "LOL IM SO INDEHH QUIRKY LOL xD LOOK AT THE AESTHETIC COLORS LMAO" (Lady Bird, Florida Project, Moonlight, Swiss Army Man, Mid 90s, Room) with the occasional generic overrated horror flick (Hereditray, It Comes At Night, The Witch)
They don't make movies they distribute them, fucking brainlet
Nicholas Robinson
>what the fuck happened? they realised they could make more money with shit films and shilled online reviews
Leo Cooper
tell me how is The Witch a generic horror please
Dominic Bennett
isn't there an /r/truefilms blog about 'things you missed in the vvitch' you should be reading cunt? they're still accountable for their taste and should be ostracized from the entertainment industry for breeding the zombified culture of twitter/tumblristas that spam their feeds with "aesthetic" stills from sean baker films
Jaxson Kelly
>the occasional generic overrated horror flick >names the 3 less generic horror movies of the last 20 years Go watch The Nun, redditor.
Blake Murphy
>They went from making A24 DOESN'T MAKE MOVIES YOU ABSOLUTE MENTAL MIDGET

WHAT MORE EVIDENCE DO YOU WANT CUNT
I HATE THE WITCH FANBASE MORE THAN ANYTHING INT HE WORLD
Cameron Roberts
Wow, it’s like they distribute a whole range of movies across a range of genres. Every movie you listed is decent to very good. Rearrange the order and you can see how diverse their catalog is. And are you suggesting that The Lobster wasn’t quirky?
Seriously, you’re a fucking moron.
Kevin Cox
>Hereditary was pretty good >It Comes at Night sucked because the trailers promised a different movie than what we got >The Witch had the same problem but was good on its own merits
Nicholas Gonzalez
they should stick to making trailers
midsommer looks like total shit, poor man's wickerman
Ryan Anderson
i dont think you know what quirky means hereditary was shit . anyone who thinks otherwise is not welcome to post in this thread based
Ayden Stewart
>HIS NEXT FILM IS LITERALLY A FUCKING RIP OFF OF THE WICKER MAN How is The Lighthouse, which is apparently about old sea-faring myths in 20th-century Maine filmed in 35mm black and white, a rip off of The Wicker Man? >WHAT MORE EVIDENCE DO YOU WANT CUNT Evidence of what? Where is le indie quirky colors part here?

Alexander Peterson

Nathan James

A24 is arthouse McDonald's
Colton Phillips
Best A24 Films >Ex-Machina >First Reformed >The Florida Project >A Ghost Story >Good Time >Lean On Pete >The Lobster >Moonlight >Spring Breakers >Under The Skin >The Witch Some of the films they have distributed are generic indie flicks, but the best films to come out of there are excellent. Sacred Deer, Climax and Enemy are all pretty good too. Also Hereditary doesn't belong in the same fucking conversation as The Witch
Jaxson Gutierrez
Name a movie in the last 5 years that you actually enjoyed, instead of just shitting on what everyone else likes. Let's see how great your taste is.
This is why everyone should agree with based Thrasymachus, Socrates is a fucking loser.
Cameron Cooper
>LOL IM SO INDEHH QUIRKY LOL xD LOOK AT THE AESTHETIC COLORS LMAO >The Florida Project this is how you can tell OP hasn't even seen the movies he is crying about. sad
John Miller
This is only an insult if you have a problem with McDonald's rather than recognizing it's good for what it is.
Isaac Gomez
Florida Project was fantastic, fite me
Ethan Bell
Have you? The photography deliberately emphasizes the fluorescent pastel fades of tourism shitholes like Florida. Fucking brainlet.
Juan Adams
Ok. These are movies i've seen in the last 5 years, not movies that came out in the last 5 years
1. Logistics (2012) - Dir. Erika Magnusson
2. Modern Times Forever (2011) - Dir. Bjornstjerne Reuter
3. Matrjoschka (2006) - Dir. Karin Hoerler
4. The Clock (2010) - Dir. Christian Marclay
4. River of Fundament (2014) - Dir. Matthew Barney
cope harder
Christian Martinez
>watching trailers to anything, specially horror movies, instead of going blind
Angel Morgan
A24 has made a lot of films, period. I've liked some of them and thought others were awful. If you want to treat them like a singular filmmaker, then they're probably best compared to someone like Ridley or Cameron. High highs and low lows (not to say they've made anything as good as Alien or Titanic). A24 is massively overrated by reddit.
He didn't mean "good', he meant "before most people knew about them therefore they're better."
Jacob Clark
I do not want fighting because i agree
Julian Diaz
>Movie with Florida in title, filmed in Florida and about life in Florida. >Being mad that the movie looks like Florida.

Charles Torres
>room is bad get some taste pleb
Jaxson Sanders
>with the occasional generic overrated horror flick (The Witch) Woah let me stop you right there, faggot.
Cooper King
Only from what I've seen:
Very good: >Spring Breakers >The Witch >A Ghost Story >Good Time >The Disaster Artist
good: >Lady Bird >The Florida Project >Room
meh: >Free Fire
bad: >Hereditary
As far as I'm concerned the sample is big enough that I can believe they pretty consistently produce good movies. Of course, the ones I've seen are some of the higher profile ones, there's a chance that the lesser known ones are lesser known for a reason.
Matthew Harris
Florida Project, Moonlight, Ladybird and Swiss Army Man were all great though.
Jonathan Foster
keep him distracted while I get the cosh
Jackson Nelson
jesus christ did this idiot actually watch The Florida Project?
