>be married woman with a family
>proudly exclaim you still get wet for some fuckboy you knew for like 3 days 84 years ago
>Titanic left Southampton on 10th April 1912 and sank in the early hours of 15th April 1912
>A brief affair lasting less than 5 full days is literally the only thing this 100 year old lady remembers as she dies
Did Rose just spend the next eight decades sat in a dark room looking at a blank wall or something?
she could never forget how big his cock was and how good he fucked her inside that car
Women only care about the dick. A man surviving the Titanic would carefully and wisely detail his experience on the cruise. A woman, simple minded creatures that they are, only cared about how her pissy was stuffed by some beggar.
That isn't the biggest issue.
The biggest issue is the actual ending.
>she dies having led a happy life with a husband who gave her kids
>instead of going to heaven with her husband, she goes to the titanic which was a 4 day purely sexual affair in 1912
>Did Rose just spend the next eight decades sat in a dark room looking at a blank wall or something?
no, but one can see how a traumatic event and survivors remourse would detach you from normal emotions for the living.
Remember her life was defined by that trajedy which is why she changed her name to Rose Dawson.
no idea why she dropped the diamond into the ocean
>BERNSTEIN You're pretty young, Mr. - (remembers the name) Mr. Thompson. A fellow will remember things you wouldn't think he'd remember. You take me. One day, back in 1896, I was crossing over to Jersey on a ferry and as we pulled out, there was another ferry pulling in - (slowly) - and on it, there was a girl waiting to get off. A white dress she had on - and she was carrying a white parasol - and I only saw her for one second and she didn't see me at all - but I'll bet a month hasn't gone by since that I haven't thought of that girl. (triumphantly) See what I mean?
Famous scene from Citizen Kane about the kinds of memories old people cherish.
>a 4 day purely sexual affair
it really wasn't, she risked her life to get him out of the jail, and he gave his life so she could live.
you know that 100 year olds exist, right?
im sad for you user.
>what is short-term infatuation
>rose... you haven't aged a day
>nah for real tho you old as shit lmao
there's only 22 centenarian's per 100,000 people. cameron is a hack.
Reminder Gloria Stewart actually died at 101
>gets called in by marine archaeologists to retell her story regarding the blue diamond
>WOOOOOW wtf why is she telling the story?
Kino line
Absolute kino.
>there were several babies in the film
>babies are only a few percent of the overall population
>unrealistic!
My granny's 101
He meant when she dies at the end.
i can only hope my own family lives this long
>woooow wtf how come the editor didn't edit in some random footage from her life that had nothing to do with the story she just told the audience?
>short-term infatuation
it was only short term because he died.
even still many people go their entire lives defined by thinking about "what could have been" with their teenaged oneitis.
Jack will always be forever young perfect love of her life, because thats all the experience allowed her to remember of him
her husband is a live and breathing man with issues and faults that she associates with his memory. he couldnt compete with the chad dead boyfriend
>retell her story regarding the blue diamond
>drops the diamond off the bow
noone else would have listened to her story if she didnt have the diamond lol
>married a non-virgin in the 1910s
the guy deserved it to be mind-cucked for decades.
They didn't know she had the diamond.
She's a goddamn liar
wait, when I watched this as a kid I always thought the ending implied she was a ghost the whole time while talking to the people in the present.
was that wrong?
what? No.
youtube.com
see this scene?
I thought it meant she was a ghost like in the twist from Shining.
A lot of people who survived the Titanic sinking went on to make it a huge part of their lives, whether intentionally or not. It was a HUGE story at the time, and only got bigger and bigger as more nutjobs kept attaching themselves to the collective obsession with it. And since there was such a limited pool of survivors that would continuously shrink as more and more of them died off of old age, the oldest survivors would get carted out every couple of years whenever some new journalist or bookwriter wanted to do an interview. It was a looming shadow that the survivors could never fully escape and they’d get reminded of it repeatedly.
Eventually it got to the point where the incident happened so long ago that only people who had left the ship as very small babies who had no proper memory of their own of being on the ship were left. And they would STILL get calls from fanatics inviting them to conventions where they’d get asked questions like “what color were the embroidered napkins in the first class dining hall?” And these old people who had never even been in first class and were only on the ship as infants? Would honestly be able to answer these questions, because they had spent their entire lives researching the voyage just because they were expected to, and because it’d become a part of their whole identity.
Titanic obsession can be a hell of a drug.
GOAT kino
No, that’s the scene where she dies. Because she was genuinely really, really old. Then she “becomes a ghost,” I guess you could say.
yeah I guess that's where I was confused as a kid.
I thought it was genuinely a big deal, like the young people were being given history from a ghost without knowing.
In this scene the camera very slowly and purposefully pans past a bunch of photographs that imply she went on to live a rich, full life. Complete with references to a lot of the things she said she wanted to go do during the flashback where she was on the ship: she literally learns to fly, she goes to Coney Island, she rides horseback on a beach, she gets married, has kids, grankids, etc. Then finally dies in bed, exactly as Jack predicted.
Have sex, user
The only reason why Rose got to do all those cool things after the sinking is because she wasn't living in a cardboard box with her and Jack's kids. If Jack survived, they would have been miserable and poor bums for life. He'd probably test his luck and hop on another ship back to Ireland in a few months.
>married a non-virgin
he didnt even know anything about that. she lied about her name and presumably her past seeing as her daughter asks if her father knew about anything and she said no.
women lie dude, especially damaged /traumatized ones who is no longer rich
>they would have been miserable and poor bums for life.
maybe, jack was a bit of a confidence man. and a good artist. Rose would have introduced him to high society patronage...then got a new girl when he peaked in fame. noone could say for sure.
the reason jack is always chad to her is hes eternally her eternal first love
ok, good point.
That’s a fair assumption, but at least we know she was apparently pretty capable on her own. Once she assumed the name Rose Dawson, she would’ve had to’ve built a life from the ground up: without any possessions, money, family, or contacts. It’s kinda amazing she never hawked the diamond. Hell, even just pawning the chain probably would’ve been a big help.
But again, it is fair to assume that Jack might’ve dragged her down, even though she wasn’t all that better off without him when you think about it.
>Did Rose just spend the next eight decades sat in a dark room looking at a blank wall or something?
Worse, married to a beta provider. Amazing what people are capable of wheb survival is on the line. Truly stunning and brave.
>she would’ve had to’ve built a life from the ground up
thats really no big deal for a good looking woman, she hopped off the ship and just sucked some other guys dick.
probably worked as a prostitute for a while.
That’s not how The Shining ended either.
He would've known when she didn't bleed on the wedding night.
>I broke it horseback riding teehee
Did goomers SERIOUSLY fall for that bullshit?
Uh excuse me, she dropped it off the stern.
Is ur granny sexy?
What would he even do once he got all the way to the wedding night before finding out? Publically announce he got cucked and rused and file for divorce? It’s easier to just pretend you buy the horseriding story and move on.
The twenties were right around the corner, so everybody was diving head first into orgytown in the next decade anyway.
>The twenties were right around the corner, so everybody was diving head first into orgytown in the next decade anyway.
Yes we all know (((who))) to blame for that
Ew Leonardo decaprio fucked this chick?
it was a different time
They didn't know she had the diamond you dumbass
It was less than 5 days, she didnt meet jack until the second night (April 11th) so she basically knew him for 2 days
>really wasn't, she risked her life to get him out of the jail, and he gave his life so she could live.
Most people here have never had a relationship besides their movies. You think they understand human emotions?
Reminder rose could never sell the diamond because Cal filed an insurance claim on it
>even still many people go their entire lives defined by thinking about "what could have been" with their teenaged oneitis.
>Jack will always be forever young perfect love of her life, because thats all the experience allowed her to remember of him
Also Jack showed her freedom and new experiences. He also stood up to the snobs including her ex. With her family she was trapped into expecting to marry rich, have 10 children, drink tea at the penthouse.
>Titanic obsession can be a hell of a drug.
The movie revived the obsession, specially the 100th anniversary
The most significant event in her life was when she was fucked by a vagrant.
Why is Cameron so sexist?
It's all well and good that he died before their relationship could evolve into something more serious. He was a bum and couldn't provide for her, and she being a woman, would look for some younger chad to stuff her pussy, ass and mouth.
All in all, this movie showed that women are fucking whores.
the autism is ungodly levels. you should see the facebook group for the titanic honor and glory game coming out.
People asking shit like "will x character be sitting in the lounge at 11:21am Saturday like some book said he would be?" or "are you going to include all 16 scissor gates on F deck after the findings of the new study? and my favorite "will there be cobwebs in the closets and mechanical rooms?"
in 1912 the Sea claimed a piece of her heart (Jack)
in 1997, after holding on to "the heart of the sea" for 84 years, she decided to give it back, Shortly thereafter, she died. Like pottery.
Good riddance, that fucking whore.
