I didn’t get the movie. It made no sense.
The people who recommended it to me in college were heavy redditors who were all DUDE WEED LMAO so maybe that’s why I couldn’t get into it.

O Brother Where Art Thou is my personal favourite.
Objectively probably Fargo

millers crossing is the only right answer

>O Brother Where Art Thou is Coen brothers
how the fuck did I never realize this

It is noir film but instead of some hard boiled detective it is this burnout the coens knew.

Did you watch it a second time? Seems to be when most people get it since they stop trying to work out the plot

The Matrix

>he thinks THE Coen Brothers is 2 people

Honestly you have to watch a second time
The plot goes almost nowhere, which is the point I suppose
The only thing that really ties it together is that rug
If you already know the movie is not going anywhere, you can better focus on the rest, which is very enjoyable

Garfield 2: A Tale of Two Kitties

This is also my shout.

The only one that matters.

Fargo and lebowski feel the most balanced and complete

If there is an objectively correct pick then surely it's NCFOM

Lebowski isn't definitely more enjoyable on a second watch

Based

Same.

Watched it. Hated it.

Time passed, got older. Watched it again, enjoyed it but couldn't quite put my finger on why.

Watched it again and it all clicked. The problem is that you try to watch the movie for the plot, the point of the movie is that the plot doesn't matter because there really isn't one.

The Dude was forcefully thrown into a river and made to swim. Instead, he just kind of floats until he reaches the shore.

It's a character study of sorts, the whole thing is fairly symbolic.

DUDE WEED LMAO bros like it because they identify with the character and are often to high/stupid to try and follow a plot in a movie anyway so that's why they usually like it the first go around.

Based

Saw this again recently. I had forgotten how great it is. Probably my answer too.

you'll get how great it as you get older. I thought it was an average meaningless comedy when I first saw it too

Fargo and A Serious Man are their best work
of course that doesn't mean the rest is crap, their whole kinography is amazing and they legit haven't made an actually bad movie
these guys know where it's at

I've heard bad things about Ladykillers

My top three are
1. A Serious Man
2. Big Lebowski
3. No Country for Old Men

what a shit cover for such a fantastic film

literally no one remembers that. besides, it's below average, not actively shit

Literally everybody likes The Big Lebowski though
