The next confirmed movie is centered around mewtwo (and probably green/amber, since nintendo and gamefreak retconed her into being the same character). There's also reports of a red/blue movie BUT there's a big chance this movie is the same as the mewtwo movie.
You are getting more "epic" movies, not just "small" spin offs like detective pikachu, but don't be retarded, the fact that legendary is mtrying to go for more types of movies and not just average capeshit is a good thing, i don't see the problem with a pokemon being just a traditional buddy cop movie.
