i think you should adjust the age to 16. that was the time when i didn't renew my super hero comics subscriptions , from a psychological development point of view i feel it should apply to most people: use the fictions to build yourself up then ACT, let go the power fantasies and apply yourself for real in real life in some capacity, and the soap opera elements contained in most of those comics just meant you yeaned for affection yourself: go get yourself a girlfriend. 16 is great age to quit some cultural bullshit because you have more freedom , you start to look like your adult self /like the comic heroes so just rejoyce yourself and get in the world, let go of the toys of your childhood and get things done.
