the rest of the world was literally burning down. only britain soldiers on

i had high hopes for that movie but it was basically unwatchable

was it tho? i dont think its ever shown that there werent normal places somewhere else but it was kept secret to keep britain an awful dystopia
based pleb poster

Was baby Diego based?

What the fuck even causes mass infertility?

Is there any precedent for something like that ever happening in history?

progressiveism

It's god's punishment user

Plot device

Another question:

Why would mass infertility and the subsequent population drop cause all of modern human civilization to collapse?

Shouldn't it be the opposite? Where society begins going back to equilibrium and harmony? All of the unrest you see in first world countries, for example, is caused by the massive population influxes and the host country's inability to sustain and manage these populations without trampling over their rights.

not really

>the car scene
Pure fackin kino

> i dont think its ever shown that there werent normal places somewhere else but it was kept secret to keep britain an awful dystopia

They literally make it a thing to show you the rest of the world is burning down, the news say so. The US is in a huge civil war and so on.

>Why would mass infertility and the subsequent population drop cause all of modern human civilization to collapse?

Because theres no longer any point to anything long term? Most people are working because of their children and to make a better future for them and whatnot.

all hope was lost nigga

Wouldn't Japan make more sense?

Demographics disposition. There's no new fit young people to replace the farmers getting to old to work. If the world was true global village it would be just a simple case bringing the remaining farms to the remaining people. But it's not. When the population declines food production goes with it

is this a "movies you fell asleep to" thread?

>clueless nonwhites in detention cages awaiting return to their toilet countries
Yes please

Why? I thought it would be bluepilled as fuck but it was actually pretty based

Nah, fictional UK took immigration seriously.

If you mean comfy thrillers then yes feel free to post some

Pls explain.

back to the captain capeshit thread.

The ghost writer.

The fishes are just as bad as the government if not worse

Everybody wanted to use the baby for their own purposes, nobody actually wanted to protect a new life.

And before I get label a "globalist" you can avoid the same problems going the other way if every village on earth was a fully self sustained community not dependent on somewhere else for workers, fresh food or manufactured goods. But again we're not.

Indeed. So you thought the movie would be bluepilled because the fishes would be the good guys?

Yes at the start I thought I was watching pro-immigration propaganda, turns out I was in for some comfy politically neutral kino

>the news can't be faked

>implying the rest of the world wasn't actually just watching and laughing

Attached: duded.jpg (640x960, 98K)

If that was true, they wouldn't have a huge immigration problem, and theo's friend rich wouldn't be saving/acquiring artwork from italy and spain as they fell to anarchy.

>Is there any precedent for something like that ever happening in history?
well, no, because y'know... we're not extinct.

>friend rich
*rich friend

Thats Venezocialism

>Why would mass infertility and the subsequent population drop cause all of modern human civilization to collapse?
is that an actual question? do you understand the underlying reason why people actually do things besides just lie around and wait to die?

i think it's safe to assume that every nation had their very own state propaganda delivering the same message. The world was on the verge of human extinction, wasn't that hard to grasp that the entire world was falling apart.

>CGI baby
What were they thinking?

>Brighton is the refugee shit hole
What did they mean by this?

5G

No, he was from Argentina, argies try to take the Falklands and FAIL

It has been confirmed that for 21 years in the film no one has given birth. Now one person through some weird mutation, was able to conceive, but isn't it too late already? Even if they break the baby down to a molecular level and find out why it was born, how would it help the infertile people? Brewing a magic potion from the blood of the mother sounds like fairy-dust. The whole infertility has been going on for too long for there to be any chance for a return to norm, humanity is doomed. Bear in mind, it's 2027, what are the chances that a shadow group with enough resources and technology to "revert" the whole crisis would be benign? Without a doubt they would use her as a guinea pig until they got the missing ingredient and then only distributed to the few and select. Thinking optimistically about the ending is naive.

Brexit is like a 3 year old meme, they voted for that shit in 2016 in June. Get new memes faggots.

You missed the point of you thought the movie was about saving humanity

Liberal ideology. Seriously look at White birthrates by political affiliation.

>Britain overrun by dirty violent muslim fundamentalists
>refugee internment camps to contain all the illegal immigration
>government issued suicide pills
>anti-government resistance are a bunch of power hungry lunatics
>only hope for civilization are a group of super high IQ white scientists living in total obscurity

this movie is a window into the actual future

The Human Group (or w/e the hell they were called) could just be a foreign intelligence operation.

still better than a bunch of ragheads chanting allahu ackbar until the end of days

Then why were there refugees from the rest of Europe. There's an old German lady in a rapecage with a bunch of nigger refugees for example.

I miss Owen
What is he up to nowadays?

>What the fuck even causes mass infertility?

Not cringe at all when My Cocaine does it

AARRAAAAGGGGH

This post is basically autism condensed into a single paragraph. I don’t understand how you can completely miss the point of this film when it isn’t even subtle about the point it’s trying to make.

>why does a population collapse destroy the economy
>why does a complete and total lack of new workers and consumers fuck up society
Based brainlet

>a complete and total lack of new workers and consumers
But they had TONS of immigrants? So many that they were locking them in cages.

>every baby born will be a nigger

sounds like britain before the brexit

Not everyone lives in a city nor is everyone a cog in the neoliberal world order of spending and consuming.

I'd wager that billions of people can find some meaning in life beyond consumerism and Instagram. For the vast majority of human history we didn't have these things.

you're one hundred percent right. It's completely bleak.

They should've left the film more ambiguous at the end, not show the boat but maybe have a foghorn blare through the mist or some source of light blinking in the distance.
Theme of criticizing humanity is obvious, there is this miracle right before everyone and still they continue to fight. The baby being contrasted to Jesus, with Julianne thinking the baby will bring peace and the girl joking about virgin birth. The tracking shot showing everyone stopping while the baby is crying, but then continuing the fighting as if nothing had happened perfectly encapsulates this nihilistic level humanity has fallen to.
I'd like to think it's not the baby who is the "salvation", but rather Theo. After all, his name bears the meaning God's gift. Never touching a gun, connection to the animals (allegory for purity) and then sacrificing himself so humanity could redeem itself. If viewed from this angle, it's a rather bleak film. The ship and institute only being a false hope, as it is not the continuation of our species that matters, but how we live and love each other. The infertility basically turning the time humanity has in the cosmos into a microcosm, and yet even when faced with salvation, humanity continues it's self-destructive path. Good film.

>Why would the complete inability to reproduce and propagate the species make society collapse
Gee, I can't fucking imagine why.

based and gestaltpilled

>The news say so

Imagine of thalidomide didn't cause deformities it just caused infertility in the child. The drug would stay mainstream, no one would realise it was fucking up the children, and for 20 years no one would even notice anything was wrong or put 2 and 2 together. An entire generation would grow up infertile, hundreds of millions of people, mostly in the developed world. This might be happening right now. What if something common like a new certain food additive or exposure to wifi during fetal development deactivated eggs? We wouldn't even know about it until the older generation hit menopause.
