The symbolism just absolutely rife all throughout the movie. Somebody pointed out that when Hugo takes Alita atop the church for the first time, she immediately looks down and is wowed while Hugo looks up, contrasting their priorities and desires. Absolutely phenomenal, love that kind of stuff.

Because it was a passion project. She's Cameron's waifu and he was trying to make this for years. It also helps that the director, Rodriguez, is known for making "fun" kinetic action movies, and that shone through quite a lot in the film. It had heart, something most films you see at the movie theater now do not.

I enjoyed this movie. The CGI is above the rest, and I mean ABOVE the rest, and the main character is... honest ? I don't know how to describe it better but for once it was a change.
I recommend it.

I'd laugh but that was me in high school. I had zero people to sit with, and worst of all there wasn't enough room in the cafeteria for people to sit by themselves. Ended up having to hide out in hallways to eat my lunch, which was usually just a PB sandwich and some apple slices. One time a teacher caught me, so I ended up having to apologize, and I just ended up going back to the cafeteria but walking towards one of the doors to just stand around and wait for everyone to be excused for classes.
