Why did That 80's Show bomb? I thought it was a good spinoff. Good characters, good plots, chuckle worthy moments. (Though whoever they hired to manage that laugh track should be thrown out a window)
I dont really get it.

I blame Glenn

The 80's was shit.

He sabotaged the show to leave a gap open for Its Always Sunny. Evil genius

Compared to the 70's, yeah. But its still a trademark decade that everyones "nostalgic" for.

2000s were still about that 70s nostalgia, girls had flower power tye dye shit in their rooms and wore clogs. 80s nostalgia didn't begin until the 2010s

Attached: chyler_leigh.jpg (900x600, 77K)

80s mania didn't start til like 2008

They weren't nostalgic for it when the show came out. To be honest, no one who lived through the 80 is nostalgic for it at all. None of my friends sit around telling each other how much they miss the 80s.

Just too early for its time, eh?
Now its 90s nostalgia. If they released That 90's Show now, them motherfuckers would win 3 Emmys immediatly.

Debatable. Why do you have people who obsess over classic nintendo games and 80's cartoons then?

They overplayed the stereotypes. In That 70s Show, the characters came first and the time period came second. This was flipped in That 80s Show and it came off as a bunch of try-hard.

>Why do you have people who obsess over classic nintendo games and 80's cartoons then?
Because they're autistic and their lives didn't pan out at all.

Why does it have to be a nostalgia driven show? I dont watch That 70s Show because "omg the 70's". I watch it for the characters.

Ill agree with this. The only 3 I like is the sister, Tuesday, and Im blanking, but the main character.
The asian, the dad, and Eric's cousin were all fucking unbareable.
And the club scenes were retarded.

The Wedding Singer disagrees.

>The star search episode where she rags on glenn

Chyler leigh has surprisingly great comedic timing

You might be unaware, but the nostalgic version of the 1970s began in the early 1990s. "The Spirit of '76" (1990) was one of the first movies in the "70s parody" genre. That 70s Show was just riding a wave that had started almost a decade earlier.

It was a shame this show almost ruined her career. But now shes apparently on Supergirl. So. Good for her.

No one liked the 80s in the 90s

It's one of the worst shows on television but at least she's working

It sorta kept the nostalgia for the 70s alive though by introducing it to a new generation right on time. Ones that never even lived in the 70s. Hell, to this day girls around my college tell me how much they LOOOVE That 70s Show.
I cant argue with them. Its a good show. Its just, damn. Who would have known how well it held up?

>youtube.com/watch?v=wk5pO06BdSk

Because there already was a 80's show.

My point exactly. Lmao At least its work.

Yeah. But thats a brit bong show. Americans wouldent watch that shit.

>Glenn gets to repeatedly kiss her over and over in the episode where they get together

WHY DIDNT I BECOME AN ACTOR, DAMN IT?

Attached: Ptbw9yH.jpg (800x522, 48K)

The 80s show didn't ruin her career, nor did making out with her brother or banging Marilyn manson. youtube.com/watch?v=AYO2OdAI3H4 thats her real life brother by the way. Her parents really wanted stardom bad

She and her now husband were serious drug addicts, heroin, coke etc.

Until she became a bible thumper she was on a one way to overdoseville.

Even the producers during the commentary of NOTM joked they wanted her to eat a cheeseburger.

my fucking dick

People like to pretend otherwise now, but humanity as a whole was happy the 80's ended.

>Eric was obsessed with Star Wars
>that means That 70s Show had to been placed past mid-1977
>show had 8 fucking seasons including shit like high school graduation and kelso becoming both a cop and a dad
>it's somehow not that 80s show
????

>People not appreciating what they had until years later
News at 11

God I loved that show. The punk chick and the valley girl were so fucking hot.

They never intended for it to last more than a few seasons at the beginning, so at some point they slowed down the time line. Later episodes only take place a few days apart

>"Pump it" kicks in when they kiss
MY FUCKING SIDES
Hey. Maybe they were mormons and mouth kissing was like, a thing? If Tom Brady can get away with it, I mean.

And name 5 actors that havent done drugs at some point.

They stretched the years out really long. Like, youre watching every day of their the year at some points of the show.

I had a little bit of a crush on the sister. Had that mousy personality. Kinda like Howards wife in The Big Bang Theory. Idk why I like those types. Just do.
But damn, when Tuesday brought her hair down from being spiked. Shit. Shes gorgeous.

that was less 80's, more Adam Sandler

She went to drug abuse shit and church for decades

apparently like she was high every single day, even when working. she wasn't a weekend warrior.

that kind of drug use is not same as people getting fucked up after work

>When she starts singing along with the tv while drunk

>When asian best friend breaks into his dance moves

show was built on stereotypes but it had its own charm

It really kinda did.
I dont get why they went with the rich single dad approach though. I couldent stand the father. They nailed the father in That 70s Show.
Weird move.

literally because “that 80’s show” doesn’t roll off the tongue nicely

Wrong image.

Well, they couldent call it "That 70s Show 2: Electric Boogaloo".

Was too early, itd work now

Im not sure. Sitcoms are sort of a dying breed now thanks to the netflix show formula. Hell, Even The Ranch is getting the can.

Attached: EvilInside.gif (500x281, 999K)

Aw, man... she really did fuck Marylin Manson... Lame... Shes tainted now...

it was a bad show with bad jokes, that 70s show worked b/c it was set in the 70s, the era wasn't the fucking joke

She was engaged at the time of the video, for whatever that's worth

Walkmans, some of the other electronics, and the stores you could find in local malls were cool.
Since the 1980s, a number of the major department store chains got purchased and merged, creating less choice, and in many cases far shittier clothing.
There were far more local stores carrying gadgets and other novelties.
It used to be far easier to find modelling stuff locally. Even jumbo stores now have a shitty far smaller collection of dimensioned modeling wood and metal tubes etc.
Prices admittedly were higher, but now you have to order half the stuff you want online, because nobody local carries it.
Sears stores with large tool sections were still a thing, and the tool sections were wayblarger than what you currently find at Lowes or Home Depot.

Yes she is tainted user, give her up forever. No worries.

>It sorta kept the nostalgia for the 70s alive though by introducing it to a new generation right on time. Ones that never even lived in the 70s.
Correct.

>No one liked the 80s in the 90s
Also correct.

AND shes a cheater. Double whammy. With a dude who played a character that molested one of the Zack and Cody twins, no less.
youtu.be/gwI5zPZa8fg

I have to. Its just so hard...

Damnit, now I need to watch the 80s show but theres no legal way to do it.

Nah, back when Vice City released we had the whole I love the 80s stuff and more. That Xmas felt just like an 80s Xmas.

Born in 89', here and it didn't seem believable at all. And this is coming from a true 80s kid.

Nah, you're just dumb.

Hey, if its on youtube, you cant get in trouble for watching it. Thats on Youtube for hosting it.

Its shit tier quality but at least its every full episode.

Thanks dude

>ywn save prime Chyler Leigh from a degenerate life of drugs and alcohol to become a happy, pure, Christian family

Attached: serveimage-7.jpg (500x375, 44K)

those kids are NOT attractive

Too bad she's covered with tattoos, worse than being a junkie imo

>Why did That 80's Show bomb?
It came out too soon. Old people in the late 90s/early 2000s were nostalgic about the 60s/70s.

Those old people are now dead or irrelevant. The new generation of old people are just now starting to get nostalgic over the 80s /90s. If the show were to come out today it would be a nostalgic hit.

Attached: 1510372145470.jpg (426x404, 78K)

what tattoos? I've not seen any tats on her in the photos posted here.

yikes

Attached: chyler_tramp_stamp.jpg (682x1024, 127K)

>people glorify ages they never lived through
...and more after the break.

Plenty of Boomers and GenXers remember the 80s fondly. They just didn't during the 90s because it was too soon

meh, lower back, it's not visible most of the time

She was awesome in Not another teen movie.

Attached: 1391229226650a.jpg (675x820, 222K)

welp, now i gotta jerkoff

The end of the 80's was cathartic politically and culturally all around the world.
Time and distance tend to make pain ebb.

There is nothing worse than a lower back tattoo, it screams dirty whore, also it's visible anytime a girl is wearing a t-shirt instead of a dress. Plus she has dumb looking caligraphy on her feet

yep im gonna touch my dick now

You mean how the collapse of the USSR accelerated the rise of globalism? How 3rd wave feminism became mainstream and girls started getting tattoos? Some catharsis

You aren't an 80s kid if you were born in the last year of the 80s, faggot.

>80s nostalgia didn't begin until the 2010s
It was already starting in the 90's

;^)

Okay fine, it would be more accurate to say it didn't become big until the 2010s. There has been more retro 80s shit in the last 3 years than the 90s and 00s combined

>There is nothing worse than a lower back tattoo

You mean a tramp stamp?

>that 90s show
that's called Saved by the Bell

Same thing

Wasnt she on Greys anatomy for like years? (The answer is yes and she should have been thr MC the entire time - teach me made me diamonds)
youtu.be/xHdGVqSW7XM

Well 99% of your shitty paragraph could have been summarized into those two words.

And your responses could have been omitted entirely, glad we worked this out

>we

>cold war over, abloo bloo
Cry more.

I will, thanks
