I personally can’t get enough of truecrime because, a lot of the time, most of it is documentary style filled with a monotone narration. The narration often aims not to get too emotional or exaggerated because the events are both grave and true, so it’s largely a listing of hard facts in a single neutral tone. But the narrator needs to have a voice that’s pleasant enough to listen to, because most of it is gonna be them talking over a series of clips, and the visuals often aren’t even essential. This is all incredibly soothing to listen to, for me. Sometimes I find I’m not even paying attention to the story.
