Try using your eyes.

Because it is you retard, and best VonTrier film.
Manderlay is not because of BLACKED.

Seen it once and loved it. Couldn't watch it another time tho, it lost it's appeal.

This movie is a fucking masterpiece
Please end your attempts at watching true kino and stick to capeshit instead you absolute mouthbreather

Hasn't he been killed by Barzini? How the fuck did he survive he faked his death or something

What do you mean by that?
We see her suffer and slowly lose her innocence or even hope that anyone living there was redeemable.
What her father said in the car was the truth and she enacted revenge based on that.
The last scene where she kills the beta boyfriend is kino.

Read/watch Brecht first if you're too much of a brainlet to get the movie.

Would you have helped her user?

>killing children and babies but not the dog
what did she mean with that

Dog was the only one that treated her nice

Hm. I actually didn’t think about it till you asked
Fuck you for making me think

Von Trier's 2000s filmography is stellar

>reading communist propaganda disguised as literature
get fucked gommie

Quote on contrary. If not for the dog Tom wouldn’t have noticed her entering the town

Fuck I meant to reply to this

MOMMY

my kinoma professor made us watch this but i was sick on that week and skipped this. i might watch it some time.

Hey fuck you, I thought about that bait before.

the dog is just a dog

but the kids would grow up to be shitty adults like the parents

My favourite Von Trier but i haven't seen Dancer in the Dark yet.

Dogville is an anti sjw film
Debate me
Pro tip you can’t

How about you explain your reasoning first?

Kidman’s character is a typical sjw
Town dwellers are the quote on quote minorities she wants to protect and reason but it’s of no use

Manderlay was quite anti sjw too.

Haven’t seen that one yet

Check it out, it's quite good.

I read it more as an encouragement for SJWs to use violence. Kidman is an SJW and the town dwellers are the ones on the opposite end of the spectrum. They don't follow her moral compass and therefore should be killed.

I know it’s a sequel to dogville but why the fuck he had to recast all actors

pre dogville lars = patrician kino
post dogville lars = pleb grabage

>DUDE WOMEN ARE WHORE AND NEED TO BE KILLED LMAO

Ok Lars we get it about your mommy problems

>implying Melancholia and Antichrist aren't kino

I think Nicole Kidman was filming something else and James Caan didn't want to work with Trier because Trier is anti American. Dafoe and Bryce Dallas Howard are good replacements.

Women being whores is indeed a mommy problem, liberal.

The thing is I was banned on this board when I watched it so I hadn’t the chance to dwell on it right after I watched it.
For it has an obvious master-slave morality message. Kidman’s character was a kind gal at first but this kindness was rooted in her arrogance and condescending attitude towards lower classes
Of course Trier wasnt making an Anti sjw film but he got their logic and morals perfectly
Maybe some people don’t deserve pity after all

>James Caan didn't want to work with Trier because Trier is anti American
Hehe based lard btfo’ing the ameritards

The movie is about the role of immigrants and their treatment in the US with Kidman taking the role of the immigrants.

The dog didn't abuse her or take advantage of her

lol I forgot this scene
10/10 antiamerimutts kino

It's very much watchable and very well made like most Von Trier's films.
And like most Von Trier's films I'm not sure I would call it good.

Kidman had a falling out with Trier which lasted until Nymphomaniac, sometime during production of that movie, they made up

masterful camerawork

lars is unironically a misandrist

Watch it asap it's so satisfying watching Bjork slowly die

It's not a sequel to dogville, it's set in a cotton plantation during slavery. Dogville is set during great depression.

I watched their Cannes interview and she said that she is going to be in Manderlay, she didn't seem annoyed with Trier. She was also offered the part which was played by Uma in Nymphomaniac.

post dogville lars is also kino

based blog poster

It's set in 1933.

wtf yeah I just read it up but why slavery is still there

Just watched this cold for the first a couple weeks ago. Would've been a minor classic if they'd filmed it straight. Instead we get this PBS Great Performances bullshit. I swear I've seen that slavery plot somewhere before too.

The kids deserved it but it was more about payback for the mother and what she did with those Hummels. She probably would've let them go if the dumb bitch practiced what she preached.

Slavery is already forbidden, but they still have it in Manderlay. Grace comes into town and tries to free the slaves.

Slavery was abolished in like 1800s
Learn some history

I talked to Barzini, he told me he is OK.

uh I watched it 15 years ago my memory tricked me on that slavery shit I thought it was set like before the civil war, and that Grace was another Grace I apologize desu

are you sure you TALKED, not just spoke?

There weren't SJWs back in 2000 you fools, only rampant anti americanism.

Do you guys like the theatre-like aspect of the film, or do you find it gimmicky?
Do you prefer it this way or think the film would be better with the ol' movie magic of cinematography, effects, editing, soundtrack and etc?

It literally doesn’t matter because trier achieves suspension of disbelief within minutes.

When it came out, before watching it, I thought it was gimmicky and pretentious, but after having seen it I think it works very well and it's quite remarkable.

The House That Jack Built is the only good LVT movie
