Was the original Bourne trilogy kino?
Now that the dust has settled

Of fucking course it was
Yes.
Yes. I love them
Each movie getting better and better, altho they should be watched one after the other as one movie.
No they got worse as they went along but they were fast paced enough you plebs ate it all up. Perfect example of movies retards enjoy because of car chases and explosions
Why does he look so confused in each one?
identity is the best. plebs will disagree
he doesn't know who he is
Is Bourne the most Anti-American story loved by Americans?
Other way around. Ultimatum is still not too bad though.
>original
It's America Bond which takes itself way too seriously. Can't stand it.
What were they thinking?
Did Greengrass have a stroke? Does he have early Alzheimer's?
Supremacy and Ultimatum were good, but Identity is the only real kino of the trilogy.
It's better because it doesn't take itself too seriously and it doesn't fancy itself a "political thriller". It's not trying to be realistic with any dumb shaky camera either. It's just "here's a guy who speaks tons of languages and knows a lot of martial arts, bet you wanty to be like him huh?" and that's the sort of shit action movies should be aiming at.
this.
the 1st was good but after that it just became fast edits and shakey camerawork to keep the ritalin generation interested
I haven't watched it yet and I have a feeling I shouldn't.
This where it started, huh?
Someone saw the erratic choppy camera work and editing and said, "We can hire any old grizzled actor and make an action star out of him!"
Borne shaky cam is the only one I can't tolerate.
I would prefer it to not be there, but it's still comprehensible.
Yes, the only thing I don't like is that part 1 feels so distinct from the other 2 because the directors styles aren't similar at all, it doesn't make the trilogy feel cohesive.
Highly agree
You really shouldn't. It is insultingly bad.
Agree. Identity is a 10/10 action thriller. It was more realistic and plausible compared to the completely over the top and cartoonish James Bond at the time.
This. Has the most kino scene too, the rifle battle in the field.
That was stupid though. What kind of a fucking sniper was that?
And how did Bourne know which way he could exit without getting shot
it somehow manages to be even worse than Legacy
Missing the guy who wrote the original 3
Yep. The sequels weren't as good.
The plot of the novels is a lot better. Bourne doesn't really kill anyone as part of his work. He goes deep undercover to create this persona of Jason Bourne the assassin by taking credit for others' hits. The purpose of this was to draw out and kill another assassin known as Carlos. It's during this time that Bourne loses his memory and during most of his quest to discover his identity both he and the reader are lead to believe he is Jason Bourne the assassin and the reveal of his true identity near the end is the most interesting part of the story. I'm not sure why that was scrapped; it isn't like he wasn't still trained to be a badass killer like in the movies. They could have still run with that.
This actually sounds really good, wonder why they changed it
I really enjoyed them. I caught the Bourne Identity on TV recently and watched it. I was laughing out loud at this scene youtu.be
Has anyone watched the 1988 version? Is it faithful to the book(s)?
based
this
wasn't the 2nd and 3rd a different director?
it's terrible
Identity: Doug Liman
Supremacy and Ultimatum: Paul Greengrass
"why was this movie made?" was a very accurate meme at the time of release.
Don't worry about the specifics user, just worry about the KINO.
