Family Guy was hilarious at its peak (seasons 1-3), the writing was sharp as hell and the gags kept coming and coming and coming. Then South Park does a parody episode of it and all of the sudden the internet jumped on the #FUCKFAMILYGUY bandwagon.
Watch "prime Simpsons" (seasons 1-10) and much of the humor is dated and legit cringeworthy ('DOH, MMM DONUTS, COWABUNGA DUDE, EAT MY SHORTS, WHY U LITTLE, DON'T HAVE A COW MAN, etc.). Prime Family Guy was much wittier.
Simpsons jokes are deep and require reflective thought. Obviously the intricate narratives and clever wit flew over your head, not surprising considering you watch family guy.

Family guy has been consistently entertaining since it began. There has never been a massive dip in quality, and that's largely because it knows what it is. It knows it is shit in some ways, and it even makes fun of itself for that, but it plays to its strengths.
John Peterson
It really hit rock bottom with brian death episode and resurrection.
Also American Dad is a way much superior show and that's because seth doesn't write episodes

The point of no return was the murder mystery mansion. Slow pacing, unnecessary gore, pointless drama, zero thought. It's been irredeemable shit ever since.
Evan Baker
No, it hit the death with the OJ Simpson episode with 5 minutes of Conway Twitty
Nathan Mitchell
Family guy has been shit since the beggining, and American Dad is the superior one anyways.
John Hernandez
ya the gorge jumping scene was very lovecraftian and metaphorical

>Family Guy >American Dad >Simpsons >South Park >Rick and Morty All these """adult""" cartoons are utter garbage, the fact that there's even discussion over which one is better is pure cringe.

I don't know why SP even made that episode, just embarrassing. Really shows how butthurt the writers were at the success of FG.
Nathan Russell
Kek. Everything you listed except American Cuck is top tier series. Rick and Morty is made for Zoomers BUT it is very well written
When did they change the animation and art style drastically so that it wasn't as fluid anymore and Peter lost his constantly visible eye brows? That's the end for my interest in the show.

>much of the humor is dated and legit cringeworthy ('DOH, MMM DONUTS, COWABUNGA DUDE, EAT MY SHORTS, WHY U LITTLE, DON'T HAVE A COW MAN, etc.)
That's the opposite of "dated" you fucking mongo. Those are legitimate running gags. "Dated" humor would be things like references to Avatar and Lady Gaga.

Peak Simpsons was better, but early Family Guy was fucking great.
Nolan Murphy
family guy got funnier at different times, one of the few shows of his kind to accomplish this. some of the 5-7 episodes still hold up based and truthpilled
Parker Lewis
Americancdads last few seasons have been awful, since the change of network the quality has dropped hugely. Family guy was shit after season 8, both shows seem to have lost a 've amount of writing talent, and the new flash animation is terrible. All characters have been flanderised to a huge extent. It's the Simpsons effect all over again.
