I honestly believed it was a plot by the jews to put the final nail into everything that was masculine in my life.

You have to understand the time. This was post-Vietnam and the height of the Cold War. There was a type of feeling and atmosphere in the country and world. Metallica was a part of that. The sound was also new. The internet was new... a lot was new.
