Guys like him are perfect cattle for suicide bombing so yeah they'd let him in easily after some background check and making sure he's already been brainwashed by his handler who usually waits for him in Turkey and takes him over the border.
After you cross the border with the handler they take away all your documents passport included so you can't escape and when you meet up with them they start to coerce you slowly into becoming a martyr. After a few months fighting along side them you end up blowing yourself up like him.
I read a story about a guy who wanted to escape after they started coercing him into martyrdom and he had to make up excuses until it got to a point that they were visibly pissed and he didn't know how long he had left so he had to wait every night for a chance to steal his passport back, a truck and enough fuel to cross the desert not knowing if the morning after they'd execute him for not being a martyr.
