>445 million dollars worldwide
>over 150 million domestic
I thought Yea Forums said this was going to flop? What happened?
445 million dollars worldwide
Yea Forums didn't have sex
It did.
>I thought Yea Forums said this was going to flop
No one said that. Nobody expects a major Marvel movie to flop.
Do you have any idea what Disney doing with this movie?
>no one said that
Lurk more
As always Yea Forums was wrong
The drop-off is going to be big. It won't flop because Marvel movies can't at this point... but it will underperform.
you're welcome to comb the archives
there's nothing stopping you from proving us wrong.
Astroturf more disnigger
>worldwide
SIR WAIT IS THAT
OH NO NO NO
Maybe the drop off won't be big if Disney continue buying tickets to "fill up" theaters.
imagine being psyched that a pepsi commercial made a bunch of money because it had a girl in it
Who do you trust more? Opinions of sexless virgins on an image board or people who've had the job of reviewing and watching movies for a living, sometimes even filmmakers themselves?
The former, the latter can get shot tbqhwyf
Who do you trust more? Intelligent people who know what theyre talking about or women hating brainlet poltards?
>people who've had the job of reviewing and watching movies for a living, sometimes even filmmakers themselves?
Cha-ching
Have sex
give it a couple more days...
Actaully, this movie's success was all a money laundering scheme by Disney to push the leftist agenda even though it's the biggest beneficiary to capitalism in history. Also, critics hated the movie but were paid off to say they like it by Disney, who owns all of media, and this entry into the most successful movie franchise ever is actually a huge bomb. Lastly, the movie is so bad it's going to ruin the Marvel brand and cause Endgame to flop, just like how The Last Jedi ruined Star Wars forever.
Do yourself a favor and have actual sex
someone didn't dilate today
(You)
Haha! Good joke, my friend, but have you ever considered having sex?
A handful of autistic Alita haters posting "flop" a thousand times on Yea Forums does not represent this entire board's opinion.
>who do you trust
>actual people
>or corporate owned shills
Kill a Disney employee today!
Discord trannies can't meme
Imaging seething this much because a Disney film with a woman is successful, I just couldn't I honestly think all neets should be burnt alive as entertainment atkin to the Roman Colloseum
>DAMN IT WHY DIDN'T CAPTAIN MARVEL FAIL AAAARGH ITS NOT FAIR BROS I WISH GIRLS LIKED ME
Civil War had Ironman, dude.
that one is breddy gud tho
True... but it is costing them money... and the Mouse hates that! x)
Yep! They have an economic stake in all this. : )
People watched it because it's obligatory for Endgame, not because they give a shit about Captain Marvel. They could have sandwiched any Marvel movie in-between Infinity War and Endgame and it will be successful.
It is successful as a movie. It is not successful as a replacement for the current Avengers, and to jumpstart their dream of an all-female Avengers era.
So how is Yea Forums going to cope by moving the goalposts this time?
A lot of them also brought tickets in advance.
And it is not like CM has any real competition- Alita is not for little kids, and most little kids have already seen the Lego Movie and/or HTTYD 3.
This.
The moment Infinity War was VERY well liked, and featured CM as the last shot, this movie was going to be a success.
>literally the only movie being shown all weekend in many areas
Kill the mouse
So this "anime" board keeps the childrens movie you like? what is RT? also tell me again about this "pepe" that haunts you so.
Provide pusy
imagine spending all your time trying to troll sexless virgins on an image board
Disney bought their own tickets to drum up the brand.
TL;DR Disney pulled some strings to save this movie. That's all there is to it.
I never said it would.
They also were responsible for the “trolls” so they can have better control over RT and youtube for Endgame
Reminder that even with a worst case multiplier of 2.05x (same as BvS), this will still make over $930m on a budget of $152m
Why is the foreign gross bigger than the domestic?
Most movies don't open in US and China the same weekend.
That's how it is with almost every movie
Damn. China sure loves white people huh.
That is typical for Hollywood big-budget movies.
be honest with yourself, the sexless virgins have the right opinions, and thats why you hate them.
because theres under half a billion north americans and over 6 billion foreigners?
Because it's 2 countries vs 50+ including China which is the 2nd biggest market in the world
Which is canon?! Why are they so inconsistent?
Why the fuck would non Americans want to watch this though? Especially Chinese.
Top is estimate based on ticket sales, bottom is actual numbers
Chinese love Capeshit. Infinity War made $360 million in China alone
See
Because Marvel is the biggest movie franchise in the world right now. Infinity War made more overseas than Last Jedi did total for example. Captain Marvel was teased at the end of that and people rushed to watch it.
>it’s a failure because it’s only in the top third of MCU movies
hard cope
Have sex you incels
Cope.
>$150 million marketing budget
>spend 25 million of that on buying tickets for midnight showings on opening weekend
Best PR you can buy
There was no way it would flop, Yea Forums had like 15 threads a day for miss since like summer last year. A good sign a movie will flop is when it comes out the majority reaction is "Oh yeah this movie was being...It's already out?"
>$150 million marketing budget
Source?
noooooo why can we never win bros? this is black panther all over again
>consumerist figures
And how does that prove artistic merit, exactly?
Why is it doing so well outside the US?
it doesn't. now put down these goalposts
It doesn't. In case you haven't noticed, all Yea Forums cares about nowadays is arguing about rotten tomatoes scores and box office
See
You don't have to be a DCuck to hate feminist garbage or point out when the press is blatantly lying to us.
Why do morons ask this? If you buy all the theaters and review sites of course it will do well.
So is it going to make a billion? That would make it the third Capeshit in just a year that Yea Forums said would flop and it ends up making a billion
>no one said that its going to flop
>t-they bought all tickets
>just wait few days and it will flop
>china isn't redpilled
Have a cigar, fucking incels :D
>bragging about money made
>opening weekend
50% of the "sales" were promo tickets given out by the studio as advertisement
DC litterally made 1.2 billion this year. And had a successful stream service. So nice try retard. Now eat the disk.
Yea Forums didn't say this
outrage marketers said it
over and over and over and fucking over again
incredible how hard the outrage threads dropped as soon as the weekend was over
really makes you fucking think
Lmao sure thing bud
>halfway to $1b
b-brehs, I don't want to eat the Aquaman blu-ray! I was just shitposting!
Endgame won't flop but I can see the marvel movies after it not doing as good
clearly you faggots don't understand how marketing works
Clearly you fucking don't either
>Before the movie released
>Endless threads claiming it would only make $80 million OW domestically
>Now those same people are claiming $153m is low
just got back from a showing of this one
this was the best superhuman movie, next to avengers: age of ultra. had such a great time with my family, this one was so ACTION packed and the cat really stole the show. brie larson was gorgeous as captain marval and the effects were out of this world! i dont know what all the fuss was about over this one, i guess its just bigits being worried about a woman in the movies??? anyways, im definitely going to be taking my wife and her kids to see this again and again. big ups to disney for another whole in one!
They initially said it was going to make over 200 mil. Then they dropped the number 7 times to just over 80 mil. Now they claim it's doing better than expected when in reality it's less..
I'll make it very simple and clear: Captain Marvel is really worth a watch. It's just entertaining and visually impressive, exactly what it was meant to be.
Just keep this in mind that it's an origin story so don't go looking for an overstuffed complex story. It's just a fun action movie that introduces us to a new superhero Captain Marvel, played brilliantly by Brie Larson. I became an instant fan watching her in this action heroine avatar, something she manages to pull off with ease. Watch her in the action sequences and there's no way you can't be impressed. Viewers were literally cheering for some of the most heroic moments in the film. Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury is as awesome as always, it's just that his character feels even better and refined than what we've seen. Jude Law is also quite good, and so are Ben Mendelsohn and Lashana Lynch.
But the one character that ultimately steals the show is Goose, the cat. Some of the sequences involving her are so hilarious that it was really difficult to stop laughing. (cont)
Visual effects are excellent, and the IMAX 3D viewing just elevated them. And since it's most importantly an action movie, every single action sequence it delivers is impressive, especially the train sequence. I would call it one of the major highlights of the movie. Cinematography in certain portions is really impressive. Humor, like any other MCU movie, is top notch and really manages to make you laugh. Captain Marvel has a simple-looking origin story presented and executed in a terrific manner. The directors have done a great job with the characterization of Captain Marvel, and that is what makes everything in the film seem so good. The pace is brisk, gore is minimal to no, and there's nothing unsuitable for kids. I'd definitely recommend watching Captain Marvel to anyone who likes superheroes or is simply a fan of action movies. You'll love it if you want to be entertained. It also does answer some much-asked questions, and that should be the reason enough for you to stay instead of just walking away.
Can't wait to watch Avengers: Endgame now!

Go watch it OP, maybe see it twice and do the floss dance in the theater lobby afterwards.
You deserve it.
