Fuck Ben

because deep impact was the better disasterkino

>underrated

you are fucking crazy that movie was trash. The premise makes no fucking sense and the love scenes are cringe as fuck. I still remember ben riding an animal cracker over that cocaine addicts daughter.

kys retarded zoomer

Pure kino tb h
only r**** cares about "MUH SCIENCE AND SHIT"

I like both but Armageddon is more fun, deep impact is more realistic and it shows because it's more of a slow burn and a bit stale compared

This movie is undeniably shit.

I buy every thrift store copy of this piece of shit. I have crates of them.

Eventually I'm going burn them or have a gypsy put a hex on them.

Garbage film.

>filename checks out
what the fuck user

Actually only a zoomer would claim to like that movie.

very very fucking based. You are going gods work user.

Incredibly based, and cute dog too

Great movie.

why was it easier to teach oil drillers to be astronauts than astronauts to be oil drillers

I saw that guy, wasn't it on like American haulers or some shit? He moved from North Idaho to California (he was art fag) took all his tapes with him.

Whoa..

No. It's still so, so bad. Deep Impact aged better.

I feel like there are two kinds of movies.

>A movie you go to see to appreciate its intricate/stylistic/artistic merit.

>A movie you go to see to have a good time.

Obviously sometimes these two classifications overlap. But just because a movie is designed from the ground up to be purely entertaining doesn't mean it's a bad movie.

I legit still don't understand how Stargate, Independence Day, Armageddon, all these kinds of movies, get rated SO BADLY on ratings websites.

I feel these kinds of movies are a lot more honest than most films. Take Captain Marvel. It's a basic "go and be entertained" film - yet they've tried their damndest to build it up into something bigger than that. Same thing with Black Panther. Same thing with Wonder Woman.

Armageddon doesn't try to build itself up. It's a basic, implausible, entertaining, doomsday action movie.

There's something wholesome about that.

I've uncrated them so you can see what I'm dealing with.

Look at this pile of shit.

Because they didn't need to be astronauts in that sense, they didn't need the years of training and mental fitness that goes with it, they just needed to get to the asteroid, probably would have taken longer to train astronauts to be half decent oil drillers

Deep Impact is the oscar bait asteroid movie, whereas Armageddon is honest and more visually engaging.

Timestamp please

its a ben affleck joke. watch his armageddon commentary if you havent, its pretty kino

directed by a woman so no

Absolute kinography

Doesent everyone die at the end of Deep Impact

Yeah he's a prick throughout for some reason

I rethink I'm impressed, but I'm not sure.

Because Astronauts go by the book and there are no good books on oil drilling and absolutely no bibliography on drilling an asteroid
The film was symbolic and allegory on the importance of humanity and how the common man is superior to the upper class educated elitist but reddit is too pleb and "i luuuv science!!" to realise it

Kitty in the crate!

I'm a physics autist now with a degree owed in no small part to inspiration from Armageddon when I was an impressionable zoomer.
The movie has real soul, some characters are strong enough to transcend stereotypes into archetypes, it's also made with technical care and attention and effort.

I bet almost none of the memers disparaging this film everywhere and whining about MUH MICHAEL BAY can even explain ''why it doesn't make sense'' with scientific methodology.

on the spectrum but based

i would be a prick too if i had to work with michael bay

>Deep Impact is the oscar bait asteroid movie

It wasnt even oscar bait. It wasn't that tier of movie, nor ever intended to be. It's just a disaster flick that tried not to be too stupid unlike armageddon.

Every aspect of it is so fucking stupid, but I still like it.
Why'd they put a minigun on the Armadillo, considering it costs roughly $20,000 per pound of cargo put just in LEO, plus the fuel needed to send it on an intercept course with the asteroid?
MIR blowing up was cool though, that crazy Russian character was great too.

Why? You're a grown up who doesn't have to work with michael bay if you don't want to

Armageddon has some genuine aesthetic and technical merit.

Based. You should drop an asteroid type thing onto them. Like a burning pile of garbage or something.

oops, my brain died. Or I time traveled. You decide.

You're a true hero. Can you smash one copy for us?

are you telling me you wouldnt. all of his movies make a fuck load of money and the check would be pretty hard to turn down. that being said i fucking love armageddon

It's easier to train miners to be astronauts, than training astronauts to be miners.....As if

I must wait for a sign from above.
Deus vult.

>Why'd they put a minigun on the Armadillo
There was a deleted scene that explained why, it was still a dumb reason of course
>considering it costs roughly $20,000 per pound of cargo put just in LEO,
I mean, the world was ending in about 14 days and you think people would be worried about costs?

>The movie has real soul

Terrible bait

>and you think people would be worried about costs?
Nah, just weight. I've never seen the deleted scenes or the commentary though, this thread is making me want to check out the latter today.

>Didn't you see Apollo 13, boy?

Yea Forums magic

I feel like I'm late to the party in realizing Ben Affleck is kind of stupid.

You need to pack them all in a cardboard box with a chunk of explosive material in the center, then blow it into two halves from the inside out.

DRILLING IS AN ART!

What did he mean by this?
